You're winner! Yes I am :)
Great tiny experience. The visual aesthetic was perfect. I didn't really feel the audio until I saw players mention Fallout below and I get it now. Cool. This title clearly indicates good technical skills and good taste, I look forward to seeing what you will create in the future.
Thanks for playing!
As of the moment, I'm still working on this project. I think I can make it a proper full-fledged game if I give it a bit more work.
I'll try my best not to disappoint!
Nice and quick game but surprisingly clear and consistent vibe. It really gave me that fallout76 clear out RoboCo research centre vibe and I think you could easily add more and expand the content to give a consistent little mini dungeon!
Thanks for playing!
I've played some of the other Fallout games but not 76. But looking it up, I understand what you mean.
As for the other part, I'm actually still working on this game and trying to expand it! Hopefully I can polish it into something good.
“YOU’RE WINNER”
Good job submitting something for the jam! I saw you mentioned that you felt you had bad time management, but it’s always great to submit something! I agree with the others that the textures and the weapon – what’s shown in screenshot of the cover – create a great vibe!
I hope next year you submit again and have time (and time management!) to create a longer experience with more content!
Thanks for playing!
To be honest, I was heavily inspired by your Dungeon Crawler Jam 2025 Submission "Zero Atmospheres". A lot of the work I put into the game (besides the level editor, which took way too long) was focused around recreating that sort of space-retrofuturistic design, I think they call that specific style "cassette futurism".
Yeah, hopefully I'll have the time to submit again next year! With better time management too.
I really like the tone you are setting with the visuals, the music and the little pew-pew sound. I do wish there was more.
Play-through:
Thanks for playing!
Glad that you liked the tone and atmosphere! I do agree that there was a lack of content, which was due to my bad time management.
Solid foundation, just wish there was more to it! Good work though :)
Thanks for playing!
I ran out of time in the later half of the jam and just had to put together what worked. It's good that it feels as though at least the basics are there!
Oh, maan, looking at the cover image I wanted this game to be so much more than what it ended up being. The textures, the weapon... I expected some grunge retro vibes, some rock and roll bullet hell. I was so sad when after just a minute I saw the victory message. Still, this is a decent game, it just doesn't live up to my unrealisticly high expectations based on just a single screenshot of the game.
Thanks for playing!
I apologize for not living up to expectations. My lack of experience in dealing with time limitations caused me to rush my submission, and I didn't get much done as I wanted.
If it helps, I'm debating on continuing this project since I feel there's something here (will probably completely overhaul the gameplay in that case).
Sure thing. If you would credit the assets you used, I could look into it, and maybe even give you further advices on how to use them.
But even if you decide to not continue this one, finishing a playable game for a jam, and implementing all the requirements is already a great achievement. And if you had fun during the development, and learned something along the way, I think that already worth it. I'm a game jam addict, my page is full with games made in less than a month, because that's what makes me tick. But if you have the will to keep going, and continue working on one game, I truly hold that in the highest regard, and I'd happy to help you out with some tips and tricks along the way.
There's a Credits.txt file inside the the zip that lists all the assets used, but to make things quick, these are the assets used:

Also I'd love to get more advice on development. How can I contact you?

Short but cool game! Wished there was more, but the stuff I got to play was really fun. The movement could have been slightly more polished, but nine days is nine days :). Overall a fun experience, and appreciate you making it!
Thanks for playing!
If it's okay for me to ask, could you be more specific about what about the movement could be improved? (i.e. is the on the gameplay side, or animation when moving between tiles, etc.)
Either way, glad you had fun!
Oh, that was short…“You´re Winner!” The movement was smooth enough, the music and graphic fit the theme. But well, there should be a bit more meat on those bones. And you should add a bit of hit feeback to the models. Oh, models, there is an actual 3d models for the enemy, something I alwas dread to make, so cool I guess :)
Thanks for playing!
As for the short length, not necessarily to excuse myself but this was the first (time-limited) jam I've ever joined. I was working on other things earlier in the jam week but then quickly ran out of time in the later half. Learned a valuable lesson in time management that I'll take to heart.
The 3D model for the robot enemy is really cool! Unfortunately it's not my original creation, it was a free use asset from OpenGameArt:

Nice job making a simple dungeon crawler that has the shooting mechanics and moving enemies. Although, I found a rule breaker with the enemies. They're supposed to move at/smooth transition to a square grid like the player I believe instead of moving around in real-time. The music I found to be hilarious for this game.
Thanks for playing!
I apologize for that. I think I was down to the final few hours when I was finishing up implementing enemies and so just threw in whatever worked so I could achieve the requirement of having at least some kind of death state.
As for the music, it's from the Library of Congress (public domain, more than 100 years old), I really should use more music from there in my other projects. It seems to leave an impression.
Very short experience :)
The music set my mood from the start and it lasted into the end, but it does a heavy lifting in this one. Its like my mind is filling in everything this game could have been.
I enjoyed it all the way though!
Thank you!
Thanks for playing!
As for the music, I was rummaging through the Library of Congress' music collection (I think I found it through some government project called "Citizen DJ").
To be honest, I wanted to do a lot more with this game but ran out of time. I'm glad that feeling of there being something to this is there though.
Plays pretty well for a game made in a week. I am winner.
Thanks for playing!
The game looks and sounds great (we have the same retrofuturism reference) and the shooting part is fun.
My only caveat would be that you kind of have to time your W presses precisely or it may feel rigid, like if you press just slightly faster than the transition time.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for playing!
Controls are definitely something that needed a bit more work. I remember at the time I just decided to go with what worked.
YOU'RE WINNER! Its like Doom but you're on a grid.
Thanks for playing!
Yeah that was sort of my intention for the game. Glad that shone through a bit.
I really like the artstyle, the combat is good, the music choice is a little unfitting tho. YOU'RE WINNER!
Thanks for playing!
As for the music, honestly I was digging through the Library of Congress' public domain audio files when I found some old sounding music, and I decided to just use it for the heck of it.
