Great game idea!

I really liked the concept, and the encounter pace was good but sometimes it happened when I was intereacting with something so I ended up with multiple overlays on the screen. I wasn't sure if I was just fighting 1 or 3 slimes at times, only did damage to the first one and then battle ended when it died.

I liked the battle music, environment was nice. The avatars looked great and so did the art of the enemies.

Managed to make a dish!

The browser build just got stuck loading at 95% (firefox and chrome tested), but it ran fine on Windows.

Definitely the kind of game once polished I could see myself playing on a portable.

Thanks so much for playing and the kind words! A lot to work on for sure, and like you said I really struggled to convey the mechanics in an intuitive way.

Some of the jank I left in on purpose cause I liked it, and much of it is just jank from rushing through my first ever game for this jam!

The select strength/stamina thing is the level up screen! So you actually won the combat with Elbow grease, then you upped your strength for the next fight or refilled and exapnded your stamina. I know it really isn't clear from the game and I didn't have anyone to play test it so I struggled to know what a player would think unfortunately.

I LOVED the intro, so epic.

Got a bit stuck in the first room didn't see the button in the UI!

I wasn't too sure what I was doing around the level.

Nice and quick game but surprisingly clear and consistent vibe. It really gave me that fallout76 clear out RoboCo research centre vibe and I think you could easily add more and expand the content to give a consistent little mini dungeon!

Pretty good, for some reason movement worked better when running it from linux emulated.

Really fun vibe to the game, the visuals feel like they're a perfect fit for VR actually, and the gameplay too.

Like others, shame you get stuck when you go to the third floor I was really curious to know how the game ends up!

Music got me pumped too and nice idea with the cook.

So impressed by the 14MB and the game! I didn't really know why I kept dying, and honestly I wasn't sure what was happening.
But the visuals were really nice, and the music was actually quite moving and perfect for the lonely fantasy space ship setting.

I think the visuals are really beautiful, but it does need some combat. Looking forwards to seeing if you finish this project once the jam ends!

Good fun :) I think we had some similar thoughts about the cleaning up theme!

Thank you for the kind words.

Yes loads to work on!

I need to improve that way I convey information to the player. For example the logic of the game is this: the bleach is great on blood/biohazards, the oil is useful for stuck things (like the squeeky door), acetone/solvent is good for glue and paint. Use the right combination and it is usually 1 hit or just 1 turn. The wrong combination just makes the mess worse!

Unfortunately, with a toppled shelf you just need to use some elbow grease :)

Oh sorry about that, thanks for trying. Not sure why that might be.

I can't get it to crash :(, was that at startup for you?

Really good point about the draw distance! and Silent hill vibe is kind of what I was shooting for so really glad it came through.

Sorry it crashed!Anything you could tell me about the circusmtances would be handy but I plan on making quite a few changes once the jam is over and digging into it further!

Thanks so much for playing and the feedback is really helpful!

Loved it!

This reminds me of a road I would always have to walk down in the dark each weekend as a kid. It would freak me out so much I'd end up jogging!

The not being able to turn around was such a genius unsettling feature, as was the subtle oddities at the start.

Really nice! I got stuck but was enjoying the parts I played.

Atomosphere worked well.

Sometimes it seemed like combat wasn't working as I expected (although overall seemed to work very well) so I think I wasn't understanding something there.

Woowa, you really nailed that JRPG vibe like others have said.

The visuals gave a Dragon Quest vibe, and the musically feedback for battle won made it very addictive to keep going (I definitely need to try and incorporate something like this in my games). Overall the experience in the menus etc was the most polished I felt of the jam so far!

I love puzzle games so appreciated that too.

Really well put together! The visuals worked great and really fit the vibe. The music was perfect (especially that scene).

John was a D**K!

Wow what a game! So creepy, I was genuinely unnerved in the middle portion. The graphics worked really well and that glitch effect was just perfect.

Also geniunely felt like the three acts worked well and felt organic.

Lastframe let me upload a new Zip, which I've tested and Windows will unzip without issue.

If you have time to try again I'd massively appreciate it!

That music was unbelievably good!!

Great game thanks for making it.

Itch is flagging but I think that might be because of the batch file! I'm not sure if you could use a Jar launcher which might help?

Thanks so much for playing it! I really did not know what I was doing when I made the movement!! And seeing the feedback and using it to review the way it worked has been massively helpful.

By the way that ending was going to be called "Chasing the Dragon" before I decided to keep it less edgy :D

Really sorry about that, thank you for trying.

I've just checked and it's the Windows built in unzip (Extract all) option that doesn't work. If you're able to use 7zip or WinRar or other external Zip utility it works.

I can't upload a new version until the Gamejam ends butwill see if there is a way around it.

Nice game! And massive thanks for the wide range of binaries!

I really liked the feel of the dungeon, movementtook a little while to get used to but works in the end. There was something about the look of the enemies that really took me back.

Thanks for making it!

I played this a few times during the jam. It gave me strong OG Alone in the Dark vibes!

I have to say I really struggled to find the key originally, but that is part of these games I guess.

I liked the vibe, the artwork was really nice and the environment was well laid out. Controls worked really well too sometimes I struggle with these fixed perspective games.

Nice short game! I loved that she could jump haha.

I liked the text and mission marker.

I think our games were actually kind of oddly similar!

Really interesting setup and atmosphere. But honestly I did not know what I was meant to be doing (I knew what shouldn't happen) but I was just clicking around until I seemed to work.

Would be useful if the buttons were labeled (I read a devlog to realise what I could move site with the middle two), still wasn't sure what the other buttons did.

Gave me lost vibes when they were putting the numbers in to the computer but weren't sure why!

Really fraked me the F out! I liked the Art style, and didn't mind that it was "crass" nice to have a unique experience.

Really creative way to depict OCD, great game! I liked the build up through it as I genuinely started brain storming ways things could go wrong (probably like the guy in the game!).

Thanks for playing! I really hope to improve my visual storytelling/directing of players so very helpful.

I think unfortunately there is a bug with the combat especially if keys are mashed quickly it can play out quickly which is confusing (it's supposed to be turn based). And I never got around to showing enemy HP which would make it clear!

All things I will hope to incorporate! Thanks again for playing and the useful feedback.

If you like the models they are from Pupkin's Final Exam pack.

Thank you so much for playing the game and very kind words! I'll definitely be working on the movement based on this feedback.

Thank you for playing my game. Yes definitely a lot to work on! I haven't thought about those FMV games in a long while but I get what you mean!

Really loved the visuals in this game, and the mechanic around tea was great!

Super impressive to make a rougelike too!

Thank you so much for playing the game and commenting! And the encouragement!

I actually had a fix before UE crashed and I couldn't recover a chunk of fixes and had to press on for the jam deadline! I guess I did movement similar to you then, I used a timeline with a sigmoid curve and lerped location and rotation. Both were snapped to a grid but I didn't do that well I think!

But I had two solutions in mind:

The one I lost and didn't readd (everywhere) rotation was locked to cardinal directions i.e. ControlRotation Yaw was Snapped to Grid(Rotator) set to 90.0. This worked but I had to know when to do it and I didn't do it everywhere! In hindsight I could have just put this in tick since when bIsMoving wasn't happening!

I dropped this idea becuase it was unpleasant to play: During timeline run a bool bIsMoving was true and this blocked input being acted on (stopped people pressing x during the turning). It made it feel laggy, in hindsight I should have set the timeline run time to 0.5 seconds and kept this lock out.

The snapping has a issue though, my map wasn't quit setup perfectly along the axis and I think that resulted in my zigzagging movement(which also used snap to grid size).

Really great game, gave me strong DOOM3 vibes!

I think I was near the end but when I clicked the computer I got a text screen about "It had to be done..." and couldn't progress.

A few times I couldn't trigger combat (had to back away and restart).

Liked the combat system, good synnergy depending on you hand with piling up ammo before using a barrage.

Thanks so much for playing and the kind words! Definitely hoping to fix the issues people have picked up after the jam :)

Thank you for playing and the helpful feedback!

Really fun game, I think the screen was maybe scaled up when I played it? The damage numbers were too close to the screen for me to see.

The art style with the cardboard cut outs was really nice, serious Paper Mario vibes! I'm going to have to try something similar!

Nice chill music that suited the gameplay well.

Loved the vibe of this one, for some reason it crashed complaining about a scale variable - I didn't get far unfortunately.

Music was good, and liked the visuals too.

Ran this on my linux netbook and it worked really well.

I loved the art style (the walls, ceiling etc worked perfectly with the enemies). Music was good too.
Miss Stirwell was fantastic and I loved the hand drawn style (we also both went for demanding female bosses :).

I had to read the instructions to work out what to do.

I really liked this game, the music was so catchy and perfectly fit the vibe. Really chill experience and could see it working really well procedurally generated nearly endless gameplay if that makes sense? I just liked being in the game!
