I managed to survive a week! haha i've been obsessed with medievasl times lately so I was happy to see this. I mainly played to see the options rather than survive and I still had fun. I specially appreciate the option to mute the music because I had a bit of a headache and almost didn't give this a chance because the music made it worse

Pretty cool decision making game.
The art looks just right. The UI layout is decent.
The music was a little repetitive.
The modifiers made things interesting. Though I think being able to direct modifiers somehow would help. Whether through storing some modifiers to play later or some forecast to see future modifiers in the next few days.
The coin costs for everything is really high. I think I only bought three things in 5 weeks.
Thinking about similar games I’ve played like Lapse, the options here seem to swing the stat bars a lot more. Infamy comes up so much that it seems like the best strat is to keep infamy down and not pay attention to the other stats as much.
All in all, the idea is sound, but needs more mechanics to make into a fun game.
Great game, I like having to make choices based on stats that I have to not get my head chopped off,
Had fun with this one! Very polished, the visuals are great just needed some sfx like other have already said. The juggling between meters made making decision between the 3 options meaningful. There are some readjustments to be made on balance for sure, but the overall flow is really good. Great job!
Very impressive, especially for your first jam! The presentation is great and gameplay is clear. Great work!
pretty cool game, really loved the menu designs, would have loved some more variation and randomness in sound effects
It's a nice game,my favourite part is the art,its also quite challenging atleast for me also it would be nice if they were more sound effects like when we click a card a click sound would be nice. anyways good game. if you want you could also check my game out
Cool take on the theme and I really liked the writing and presentation throughout. It executes well on its premise, the way the game keeps track of your fingers, ear and head especially is very charming. As you mention on the page the balancing feels a bit off, I certainly feel that there wasn't much I could do about infamy with coin being so difficult to come by. But I still enjoyed thinking through it, and the pixelart throughout is great!
Few things that would improve it besides balancing imo are just:
- sound effects on card press would be nice
- I think the red text is kind of hard to read for negative effects, and wonder if the contrast to the background for that could be improved a bit
- I think I would like to play towards something rather than just survive as long as I can. I got excited when 'the prince hires you' came up, but I don't think that's hooked up to further story events per say - sprinkling more of that in so there is a genuine win scenario if you make it long enough would be great I think.
Awesome entry, really well designed!
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful feedback! To address it:
- Yeah balance is way off, I'm working on a small update that I'll push after the jam is over. Yesterday it was too easy, today is too hard lmao
- Sound effects are on my to-do list, yesterday it was publishing the itch page or that, it was down to the last 20 minutes really my bad
- Yup, received a comment from a colorblind person and the red is just invisible.. I thought I had enough contrast but I failed there
- And finally, I'm swapping the events system on the left with a mini quest system, some randomly generated stuff about collecting x gold for a reward or surviving x days or something, just to make it feel a bit better. Next week ;)
Really loved this game, and I was able to play it perfectly on my phone in the bathtub, bonus points for that!
I love this one. Simple text based, role play and sweet game inbetweens. Art style is also on point. There is really some potential here.
Great work!
