Love the art on this one! The wasd movement with isometric controls confused me a lot, even with the aid on screen. Interesting premise though, and I like that there's a story!

I love the art style and trying to find the best way through the stages. :D

This game certain embodies everything that the game jam is expecting it to! Slick, well presented, challenging and pretty fun!

Developer

thank you so much! :D

Beautiful aesthetics here! This is such a cool take on for a puzzle game. Well done!

This is awesome! I think what shines best is the artstyle, you can take a little while to understand you move in a isometric grid like that but it works fine! The problem is if I lose in one screen i need to go back 2 or 3 which is kinda annoying after a while, other than that, great game! Good luck on the jam :D

This is just so cool! I'll echo the comments that think it was a bit too hard, but everything about it was so amazing that I persevered until I got through it. I'd love to see this extended into a full game, great work on all the aspects!

Fun idea and I like the intro story. Personally I think there should be an option to have more time and/or checkpoints more fequently. A difficulty select would work well for this.

With the time that was given for the jam, you guys did a good job. Well done 🙂

apparently if you just ignore the people talking they let you roam forever. but they also block your line of sight. forever. im not sure what lesson i learned from this.

overall fun gameplay and excellent music + visuals

Oh this was too hard for me. I'm now reading the comments and I see that there are checkpoints but I quit before getting to one, because I assumed that the whole game had to always be played from the beginning. The game was very slick though. For some reason I couldn't figure out the directions for the controls. I would constantly press the wrong button. Maybe because the room was rotated 45 degrees, skill issue on my part. Seemed like a very polished game.

The 2D art is fantastic so much soul dripping from each character design i love it! Charlie is adorable in her little cloak! Also praise be the directional indicator that was a godsend! such a fun game with great assets!

I loved the character designs & the vibe!  I think the rooms could read a bit better, it was sometimes hard to see paths because objects or UI elements were overlapping important places on the screen, & it would have helped me a lot if the exit doors were a different color so I could pick them out quickly.  Nice job!

Submitted(+1)

Don't quite understand why there's no checkpoints in every room instead of x amount of rooms considering the timer resets every room anyway. The perspective also makes it really difficult to navigate in a quick way. Other than that though, the game is really good. The art goes crazy on this

Submitted(+1)

Excellent work, extremely well made. I loved it quite a lot. Beautiful art, the only issue maybe is that the timer is maybe not long enough on some of the later levels. Otherwise it's slick as hell and I love the art

Submitted(+1)

Really fun! Love the music, atmosphere, and story. Would benefit from the exit door being marked with a brighter color, and the control diagram is wrong, I think (s and d should be swapped right?)

Developer

thank you for catching that!! we will def be updating visuals cues in the next patch.

SLICK MOVEMENT. the isometric provides an additional challenge on top of the puzzle style but it is very cool! really love the art and music.

great game! i loved the puzzle twist for the levels, it took a bit to get a handle on the directions, but the UI showing the directions helped a lot! great work!

i also had issues with the UI which hurt my experience playing bc i couldn't see the levels at all, but saw the earlier comment by @Cookie that had made about zooming out and it worked! which was really nice cause i was hoping to get to play the game

This game is quite fun! It's a creative spin on those block pushing puzzle games. The swiftness of the character, the tightness of the controls, and the time pressure all work together to make me really feel like a thief. Great work!

While playing, from the very start I had a bug that made the controls UI and some miscellaneous sprites cover a portion of the grid. I wasn't able to get super far because of that, but it doesn't look like anyone else encountered it, so I'll ignore it :'> (I'm on MacOS on Chrome.)

I solved the above issue by zooming the browser out a whole bunch. I suspect you'd be able to fix this by setting your stretch mode to canvas_items in your project settings!! <3

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you for the feedback!! I'll look into the sprite issue - sorry about that  :<

Edit: I'LL FIX THE STRETCH MODE ON THE CANVAS ITEMS :D

Submitted(+2)

i also had the UI issue and your fix helped, thank you!

I beat the whole game before finding there was a pause button. That would have certainly been helpful. Great art by the way.

Developer(+1)

thank you so much!! happy to hear that you were able to beat it :D

Loved the art! The gameplay feels super snappy too

Developer(+2)

Thank you dude! :D

Art is great- goes without saying I think haha. Music is nice too idk if y'all made it but nice job if so. The sparsity of checkpoints was a bit frustrating at first but replaying and remembering the first levels does make it feel "slick" on replays. One of the more creative interpretations of the theme. I got a few levels past when the turn based enemies/obstacles show up in about 10 minutes of playing but I'd be happy to play more if I missed a lot of content past that. A grid on the ground might be nice since the isometric movement is a bit disorienting, but that might be part of the point :P. Also its worth mentioning that the UI looks nice (I was on UI duty for my team's submission so I've had a particular eye for UI stuff lately)! Overall super solid entry :)

Developer

thank you!! yes, the music was written by me specifically for the jam. we all appreciate your feedback! I agree the UI is super cool, our artist really paid attention to detail

Developer

Thanks for playing! You are right, I think we will add a grid in a future patch :)

Developer

amazing feedback, thank you!
