nicely done, while im not the biggest fan of AI... i can definitely appreciate and admire the effort and polish put into this, and it helps that im a fan of the game "reigns" which has a similar gameplay 🥳

Great color choice, the palette matches the style very well. Super charming game with great ambience, crazy that music is ai! Felt like I was at Corleone's daughter's wedding
Absolutely gorgeous artwork and shading! I agree on the visibility issues mentioned below, there's room for improvement without compromising on the beauty. Also the jazz music was a great fit for this game!
One thing I didn't like was the sense, that my choices don't get much of a follow-up: It didn't seem like delivering the package did anything beyond the immediate change in stats. Maybe I just haven't played long enough, but I was waiting for a moment where the previous choice would come back to haunt (or reward me).
Keep going, it looks and feels really good. With improvements to form a more complex story, it might become a great game!
What a great spin on the theme. For a minute I thought the cards were kinda arbitrary, but each is a proposition; an offer.
Awesome mood. All the assets and the writing come well together.
However visually it still needs some UX improvements. Especially the ui items have too little contrast, so the 1bit filter swallows them completely. Readability is also impacted by this. Not as much on the cards them selves, but especially on the end screen - I can't make out a single word.
I really like the setting, and also like decision games like reigns - however with this kind of game you can really feel that it's tough to pull off the scope during a game jam. You essentially hit repeats very early and it's not especially motivating to start consecutive runs, as it doesn't really feel like you are building towards a emergent story/personality.
I think you might've gotten something truly great if you had abandoned the random aspect and instead hand crafted an order of events. I think you would've gotten a lot mileage out of crafting a scenario even without introducing any new events.
Great theme implementation, and I couldn't even tell the music was AI. What you did with the presentation was good too even if the art wasn't drawn by yourself. I kind of didn't like the gameplay because of it just boiling down to making numbers go up or down, but the overall package was good.
Amazing game, art, music, gameplay, everything is on very high level. I really loved it. Definetely the best I've tried here yet. Everything feels very polished and fun to play. I really wish some decisions would lead to some other outcomes and not just stats changes. Also, I got confused with the heat stat, I thought that it should be low and not high, I lost on month 32 because of that lol.
So far its probably the best game I played in this jam. Very polished and the gameplay is engaging and fun. The random events take away a little, as it feels too random at times. maybe having a structure like the old choose your own adventure books would help with this, or some kind of follow up on some events. but very cool game overall.
Amazing game! This is the best game i played in this jam yet!I think it doesn't deserve so few ratings.
This is definitely a very polished game, as I didn't find anything that felt incomplete, which is definitely a plus.
However, and I do understand that maybe that was in code, but having every single event be random really takes away from the immersion. The fact that one moment you are in a bar, and then the next you are suddently collecting debt is just very confusing. I didn't feel any connection between events which made it feel like a trivia quiz to keep your stats high, rather then a "your choices matter" kind of game.
Also, do forgive me but I can't rate the art and music higher then 1 star, simply because they were used by AI. While I don't think that AI is evil, and it can definitely be used to reduce workload when it comes to repetitive tasks that don't require creativity, using it to replace roles that are better done by actual creative individuals is wrong in my opinion, even if no illegal.
But overall, the game itself is solid, and can definitely be called a complete game!
We really appreciate hearing your honest perspective.
You're absolutely right about the event pacing we can see how the random card draws, especially early in the game, can feel disconnected. We're definitely considering ways to make the narrative flow more apparent and reduce the "trivia quiz" feeling you mentioned.
Regarding the AI we completely understand and respect your position.
We're really glad you found the game polished and complete! That means a lot to us. Your feedback about narrative cohesion is exactly the kind of insight that helps us improve. Thank you again for playing
Really great art and music, the mood is very smoky! I want the events to feel like they're building on each-other a bit more.
Lol, I got some comments on my game pointing at the exact same thing. I, likewise, had events that would get added to my random pool depending on previous events / decisions you had made. I wonder if maybe we both ought to up the likelyhood of encountering those "follow-up" events significantly so you're more likely to see the full story for those layered events.
Ok, I tried it now, It was nice.
The game is polished with cool gameplay, took me a while to understand I was actually playing it though, I thought I was swapping tutorial cards at first xD. All the settings and content you have is really impressive for a jam game.
I'm REALLY not a fan of AI generated assets, but you did a great job at making all of it match together.
The only complaint I have regarding graphics is that the game is hard to read because of the dithering shader.
Cool game overall :)
