hi thanks for playing🥰
no way to win sadly... its the theme of the jam "only bad endings", was planning on having more areas to explore, but ran out of time; since I made this super last minute... so no downstairs area😵.

really nice, both the art and gameplay feels so polished from the little movements to the sound effects that play. for a jam game theres not much else to ask for; but if your looking to update this further adding a stor/dialogues, and maybe even changing levels/locations might be a good idea. overall a fantastic little game.
art and vibe are on point, sadly thats most of whats impressive with this game. its pretty bare even for incremental games... i feel like you could have fleshed this out more. still though game looks great, id come back to play again just to admire how this game looks. oh also your game window isnt scaled properly.

such a beautiful looking game, as for the gameplay... "confusing" comes to mind, if this was any other game I would have just closed the game and moved on, but the overall look and vibes of the game just hooked me in. I feel that this game needs a tutorial. Im a puzzle guy, but it took me a while to figure out what your supposed to do.
pretty standard tower defense game, I felt that the map was unnecessarily large and not much to do in terms of strategizing besides just placing down plants, I didnt even feel like it was necessary to place varying plants or use powerups when defending. the game needs a bit more polish and balancing, or some clearer instructions or a tutorial
very unique idea, an incremental snake game. at the start I had no idea what I needed to do, but after a while that didn't seem to matter as I was hooked going upgrade after upgrade. needing to press spacekey/mouse was a bit weird though, I feel like you could have mapped that to the movement keys instead.
I like how retro this feels, but thats pretty much it; theres not much going on and the maps are too big. the game feels empty. also not a fan of the controls, its just not very intuitive having to relearn a different control scheme; I would suggest using any of the more popular controls used by other games.
not having any sounds or music definitely hurt the experience, but the gameplay itself is pretty fun and I do like how the movement is implemented. the slow fall can be a bit annoying at times since you have to wait for your character to fall, maybe having the player slow fall only when holding down the jump button and falling fast otherwise be a better method.
the presence of mixels makes this look very unpolished, specially with the dithered light having such chonky pixels. not to mention the hitbox, I got stuck so many times the game is practically unplayable. probably better to start from scratch cause I cant imagine how hard it would be to polish this from its current state.
