The hand drawn style and animations were beautiful, and the concept of relativity in different activities.. I felt that in my soul, and it came across so well in the minigames!

Thank you so much !

Email processing seems to happen in an instant, it's crazy.

Great games.

I find it difficult to switch between mouse and keyboard depending on the game.

Developer

Thanks a lot !

We've put input prompts a bit earlier (on the game's title screen) as we noticed putting input prompts during minigames only confused a lot of people, so hopefully it should be a bit better now

Nicely done! I love that the clocks on the title screen tell the real time, and the inclusion of a font switcher is amazing for accessibility! As for the minigames, the slug and document catching ones were my favourites. I think both the counting and mail sorting ones could benefit from some more direct feedback. The player can tell how well they're doing based on the score at the top of the screen, so astute players may find their eyes darting back and forth between the game and the score. Some pop up text like "fast!" or "slow!" in the clock one could keep the player's eyes on the clock, and a couple extra sound effects could probably do something similar for the sorting one. Just my two cents! This is awesome overall, great work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much ! We're very glad you noticed the clocks on the main menu =)

We added a little feedback for the mail one after various comments about this, so hopefully it should be a little better We've left the clock one as is though, since we thought the feedback was best to be had after completing the game once to encourage replaying and to avoid breaking the player's count

This is a very beautiful game with a cool concept! Einstein would be proud!

Thanks a lot ^^

the game is amazing, i loved the art style, my profile pic should show how much i love the prototype/hand drawn on black board feel, its amazing in this game, i also had alot of fun slugging around and counting time, i got 97% accuracy on it!

also never though speeding through email and sorting them out could be this competitive in terms of time, its relatively fun, ahah, get it?

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much !
Yeah I get it x)

And 97% is pretty impressive I think, it's the highest score I've heard of so far ! We added leaderboards with the last update, and the top score registered is at 96.5523 for now, so well done !

this was beautiful!! crazy how you drew out all these animations, and made these little gameplay experiences. everything felt so cohesive! woohoo!

Developer

Thank you very much =)

Very very good on all fronts, great concept, fits the theme of the jam fantastically, and a joy to play.

I especially liked the clock on the main menu, as a little reminder of the flow of time even after finishing the game and going to close it.

I guess for me the weakest (very much relatively speaking) game was the one about sorting emails. It felt a little ambiguous which mails were important to keep without actively looking at the score counter, though tbh it still demonstrates the relative flow of time well, so I’d say it accomplishes its goal, and this is just a minor issue.

Developer

Thank you very much !

We added a little feedback for the mail one after various comments about this, hopefully it should be a little better. The mails remain the same though, the ambiguity is important to us in this one (since you would need time to read mails and sort them properly but you just don't have it)

This is a very well crafted collection of games, varied yet cohesive, the chalkboard art style is beautiful and the audio fits perfectly. It really did feel like time flowed differently for each game. The slug game and the PEN email really made me laugh haha.

Overall amazing work, congratulations !

Thank you very much !

Woa this is very, very good and well-made! Itt's definitely thought provoking. The topic of relative time depending on situation/speciies is something I think about quite often actually. Very well done!

Developer(+1)

That you very much !

Cool collection of games! The art looks amazing, the sounds are great and overall a very polished game. Even though the games are all 20 seconds long, each game did feel different in length

A small detail; in the sort mail game sometime's it's hard to drop mail on the icons when moving cursor down or to the right

Developer

Thank you very much !

I'm really glad you could feel a difference in the passing of time between games

I'll see what I can do for the mail icons but it will probably have to wait after the holidays since we're planning on joining a new jam tomorrow (so we're resting and trying other games from the jam today)

Submitted(+1)

That's fine, no rush needed. Good luck on your next jam!

Developer

Thank you very much !

Developer

Well, in the end we changed plans (we thought it might be good to rest before the holidays) so normally it should be fixed

Submitted(+1)

Amazing concept, and I definitely felt 20 seconds differently in each game. Also, I am absolutely in love with those chalkboard graphics. Every game was fun by itself, but my favorite was being a seconds hand.

Developer(+1)

Thank you !

I'm very glad you could feel the passing of time differently in each game, it means we did our job well =)

very beautiful game! i like it's beautiful chalkboard and kind of vintage art style, with all four have a different charm to the environment and the pace. thanks for the experience!

And thank you for playing and taking the time to leave a comment !

Wow, what an idea and what a design! I've been toying with the idea of time engines, so I was twice as interested in your game from the get go, from the title alone and the art, which stood out to me immediately. I loved the altered Einstein quote as a segue, the swinging pendulum on the grandfather clock on the intro screen, and how well you managed to establish a distinct mood for each level. The office clerk one was my absolute least favorite: mission accomplished, I abhor that particular experience of time in real life, too. Thanks for sharing, this is truly enjoyable art.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot !

We're glad that the mail game managed to bring back your worst experiences x)

Submitted(+1)

Dang, you made four games! That's a lot of game for one game! The art style is very nice. Also huge props for adding an option to change the font. The default one worked fine for me (and it fits very well with the blackboard aesthetic), but I can see how it could be difficult to read for some people, so having the option to change it is very nice

Developer

Thank you very much !

I like to add little accessibility features whenever I can, like font switching and remapping, especially when using heavily stylized fonts such as this one.

I'm at a loss for words, genuinely. You killed it on every aspect of the project. Art, fantastic. Gameplay, fun. Concept, incredible. You nailed everything, and I am honored to share a game jam with you. :)

I actually have a genuine inquiry about one of the features of your game, and that would be the change of font for the rest of the game. I have a project of mine where I want to implement a dyslexic friendly font, but I couldn't quite get the code right. I'm also using Godot for it, and I would love it if you're able to share any insight on this for how you did it! I'd also want it to remain the same size and fit within a Label.

Keep being amazing and fantastic job on the project! :)

Thank you very much !

For the font, there are a few features with Godot that make the switch quite easy.

First, I'd recommend using a theme (see the documentation for Theme if you're unfamiliar with it) and simply changing its default font via code when you press a button - it's just as easy as changing any variable.
To make things simpler and more mangeable (and keep coherence), I'm using the same base theme everywhere on a parent control and adding more specific tweaks with new themes on children controls.

You can also use containers like vbox and hbox to keep things aligned correctly.
This is what made everything work so well in this project at least (with the exception of the quote at the beggining which required to move every control on font change).

I would also recommend using fonts with a similar size, or maybe trying to tweak the font files to get a better match (haven't had to try that yet).
You can also change the default size with the theme, but it would not work if you're changing it locally.

You are incredible, thank you so much! I was toying around with some of the theme settings so at the very least, I'm in the right area xD

This is a very well detailed and wonderful information. Have a blessed day! :)

Developer(+1)

You're welcome !

I'm glad I could help =)

Fantastic chalkboard-style art. Four games in one, each with unique mechanics and visuals – truly mind-blowing. My favorite is probably the slug mechanic, where you move by pressing up and down. Really well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot !

We're pretty fond of the slug as well, it was the very first idea we decided to work on.
We see it as some kind of mascot.

Submitted(+1)

Fun game and style is cool! I like that there is no actual connection between ideas. Very creative collection.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and for the nice comment !

Wow! Pure perfection! I had a lot of fun with all the levels, but the most interesting part was reading the emails. Amazing game, It's so well done and the art is so charming! Great work! Love this game <3

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much !

I'm glad you liked the emails, I spent quite some time on them and I'm pretty proud of them. I'm also relieved my english didn't sound too shabby x)

THE GAMEPLAY IS FUN AS HELL! BUT LET'S HOLD ON THAT FOR A MOMENT SHALL WE, CUZ WHAT IS THAT ART!!! THE ART IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!! IT'S ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I AM GENUINELY AMAZED BY HOW AMAZING THE ART IS.

I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS GAME TBH!!! Even the quote of Einstein being changed to 20 seconds, pure genius!!!!

KEEP IT UP!!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very, very much !

This comment really made our day yesterday, as it was our very first comment on any game we made (except people we know) and it is just so nice. We're seriously thinking about printing it and framing it x) Sorry we took so long to respond, we were a bit overwhelmed.

And don't worry, we're definitely planning to keep it up !
