I had a lot of fun with this one ! Really juicy Breakout-style game, with interesting features that work great together so a lot of things happen during every game ! You made the 20s rule fit the concept perfectly, it adds a whole lot of challenge !
With that + the music and BOOM it kept me going for maybe 30 minutes of "okay just one more game" haha. I didn't manage to clear all the boxes but still managed to score 1950 points :)

Really liked the vibe here, which immediately evoked The Stanley Parable and Severance. Loved the little references scattered all around, saw in a comment below that you were curious to see how much people noticed so :
1984, Animal Farm, Blade Runner, Ghost In The Shell, Half-Life, Portal, Papers Please, Alien and... Severance haha.
The two first messages on screen weren't visible long enough for me to read, I only managed to read from the third one. I got optimal compliance whether I entered one or two right commands so not sure if there's more to do. Finding those references was fun though !

Oh wow I didn't even think about putting a static effect to the text, I'll definitely try that. You're absolutely right, it would fit perfectly and make the text stand out more !

Yeah I'll definitely have to change the "Respect" sound effect, you're not the first one to give that feedback. With lack of time I sampled it from a famous movie so I modified it (too much) to hide that I did, to avoid potential issues. And I thought that the meme "Press F to pay respects" being a popular reference could have the player expecting that word and make it understandable even though heavily modified :)
The F key is actually never locked, you can use it from the start haha. It's intentional yeah, I thought it could make players laugh to realize they could do that all along !

It looks really good and the gamefeel is quite juicy ! Really good effort on the UI as well as putting some voice acting ! I agree with amptomp, tweaking a bit the looks of the arrows to make them more distinct from each other would help. Otherwise it's really good !
The game broke twice for me however, I don't think I've done anything particular to cause this, the browser I'm using is Firefox if it helps. If I press Shift to start a new run when broken, the next run is broken too. If I go back to main menu and restart over, everything is back to normal.
It seemed to happen after several runs each time, I'll try to describe the issue as best I can :

Starting a new run, the first jump I do, my character duplicates, I have an additional character jumping out of mine basically. The game started lagging a lot when that happened. I get two characters on screen, I control the original fully, and the duplicate jumps when I jump but doesn't move to the right so he gets left behind quickly.
After gameover, I start from the duplicate character's position and I retain the speed gained from delivering packages of the previous run. Then when the runs ends either by falling into a hole or by running out of time :
A new run starts and I get this. If I press D the screen still scrolls to the right, and it seems there's still a character present because when there's a hole in the middle of the screen, I get the gameover message from falling into a hole.

I kept on pressing D and was able to go past the boundaries of the level :

For the second one I really meant that as an option, like showing a small prompt on one corner of the screen (not a pop-up window or anything) "Press R to restart" and it's up to the player to click or not :)
You're right about the extra time being worth it ! On my first 2-3 runs I definitely used it to explore more to figure out which pictures I'd take for the next one.

Reached the bathroom ! I love the vibe and the ambient music is 100% the type of stuff I like to listen to while writing or working so bonus points for that, cheers to the musician !
This is a simple concept but I liked it, it reminds me a lot of David Lynch's movies, there are quite a lot of scenes happening inside homes where the rooms or corridors themselves start feeling surreal.
This was so well done, I loved the atmosphere, and the graphics are so beautiful ! Congratulations !
Two little modifications would make this perfect IMO :
- Not count in memory the inconclusive pictures
- Give the option for the player to end the run before the timer runs out if they have already taken 4 pictures

Unless I misunderstood the rules, there can be multiple endings and levels, as long as each can be done in 20s.
For the ending in the sky at the end, the player is teleported to a whole new level so I think it works, and it could all be done in 20s. Even though I'd start counting the 20s at the door with the TV static walls for this one, to reach this room you're also being teleported :)
Ah sorry the F sound is not clear. It says "RESPECT". Press F to pay respects and all that hahaha. I heavily modified it because I sampled that from somewhere, I guess I should record it myself !
Haha I knew people would focus on different thoughts. The "buttassbutt" is actually an obscure reference to the game that inspired me the most for this, called The Beginner's Guide in which you can also find some text saying "buttassbutt" at one point !
This is such a freaking cool concept, I love everything that mixes video game with movies so that one really inspires me ! The soundscape was a perfect fit, how you implemented the credits was really smart.
Congrats for coming up with this great idea, this could be a super interesting way of making cutscenes more engaging in video games !
Adding a new reply since I saw that you released the patch, so I played again, figured some quick feedback would be appreciated haha.
The experimental pointer feature is working well for me. It doesn't go fully to the right of the screen, not sure if it's normal, but that didn't alter my experience in any negative way, so don't worry about it !
Thanks to all those features and changes, I managed well in normal difficulty and with determination I even beat each level once in hard :D
The little butterfly to show the fox's path as well as the pop-up asking to lower the difficulty are very nice touches !

I was just saying this as a general suggestion since I guess the same problem would also happen to other cultures with different input locales, and this seems pretty hard to get right !
The graphics are cute haha, didn't manage to win but clicker games are always fun !
I think a good improvement would be to have an in-game mouse pointer that is stylized and of a bigger size so it can stand out in contrast of the background :)
Noticed a few bugs :
- When two flies overlap and you get two with one click, only one is counted towards the score
- The game over screen didn't display fully in my screen, couldn't read what was in the two buttons
- If I press Esc during the ending screen, the pause menu appears under it

The music and atmosphere kinda reminded me of the games by Freebird Games (To The Moon etc) so I was instantly hooked haha, also really liked the art style and fullscreen ending images ! The concept of the lantern dying out after 20 seconds is a good idea. And you did a great job with level design to make sure there's just enough time to reach every ending but to still make it challenging.
It's obvious that a lot of effort went into making this little game, especially with how the light of the lantern interacts with walls and creates shadows, that was a very nice touch ! You all can be proud of what you've done, the end result is beautiful and has potential :)

I've noticed slight bugs or things to tweak in order to make the experience even better if you expand the game after this jam. Should I also add this more detailed feedback here or would rather have me send a message somewhere else ? Not sure what's best so I figured I'd ask before sending a long message haha.

I was a bit worried about the looks so I'm glad you liked them. The visual style is mostly due to having to work around lacking VFX compatibility between Unreal Engine and web to be honest haha. But maybe those limitations helped in a way !
Since I pushed my last build into the night yesterday after a long day working on it, could you please let me know if you found all 3 endings in the game ? In my initial version this was a big issue and I made this new version hoping to fix this :)

drareeg had been so kind to give me feedback and pointed out the exact same problem you did. The running backwards thing was not a bug, basically I wanted to spook the player by having the game take full control of the input. Didn't have the intended effect, and it was indeed making the text difficult to read. I had initially pushed a hotfix to be able to pause while running backwards to read the text but it caused other problems.
Really thought a lot today about how to fix all that and ended up completely changing this ending, as well as the text and music for it :)
In case you were curious, in that initial version you played the true ending was hidden in the keybindings, the ending with the camera was meant to give a hint to press T to be teleported to the true ending. With playtests I saw that the hint was way too obscure, no one found it.
That's a concept I'd like to work on at some point, hiding things in keybindings or cheat codes, but with the 20-second rule for this jam, I didn't find a good way to make player onboarding for it, so I discarded it too, that was kinda trying to cram two game concepts together and it just took both concepts down !
Would really appreciate your feedback on that new version if you can spare me some time :)
Very impressed by the tremendous effort that you put in the visuals, would never have expected so much polish for a jam game. The stylized environments are gorgeous !
The UI is especially is top-notch, the menus, transition animations in levels, the fact that you went as far putting a preview images and animations for the settings, thought of making the central platform see-through in the forest level when we pass behind it, just... wow !
The gameplay concept is interesting and unique, the music is relaxing, fits the vibe very well, you did a good job on it.
The negative points so far would be that it still needs some tweaking, it's too difficult. I put it in easy and still died a lot, partly because having the same issues as Salhiaa mentioned. Also in the snow level when the route starts from the center, my fox would sometimes die in the shade. The routes can feel a bit janky at times, at one point my fox got stuck for a bit.
Anyway really excited to follow how this is going to evolve, you've got a good concept in your hands that can turn into an excellent game !
This is such an unexpected take on the haunted mood, still maybe a bit too playful for me in that regard, but it also grew on me the more I listened to it haha.
I totally see the savannah though, it's catchy and it definitely reminds me of the music of older games, but with a modern production that sounds great !
