Thank you very much !
We did feel that as well and we're planning to add a shield and/or parry mechanic but it was too late in the jam to add. It will come to the game with the next update.
I hope you were still able to defeat the big monsters mandatory to get to the boss ?

Thank you !
Sprint will be coming with the next update

We do plan on adding a sprint with the next update, but probably not increasing base movement. Letting the player attack and mouve simultaneously could be nice as well, but we do not agree on shining the light and attacking at the same time - that would make the game too easy and erase all need for planning how to approach enemies.

And thank you !

Thank you !

Such a stylish game ! The vibe is incredible and the game feels very polished

I really love the introduction, mechanics, sound design and color palette
I feel like I really suck at this game though x)

Very cute art and game with promising mechanics !
I feel like the level design may need a bit more work though

I noticed two small bugs : the "options" window in the main menu is not centered but stuck in the upper left corner, and you can go off screen in level 2

Entries bringing a twist to classics feel perfect for the jam's theme, and the game feels very polished
Well done !

Thank you very much !

The story is quite simple, really : a boy with a pretty fertile imagination is afraid of the dark, so he imagines his night light as a light fairy, a guardian keeping darkness at bay
But one night his night light runs out of batteries, and he tries to fight his fears by using his imagination once again, picturing a fight against darkness in a fairytale-like world that is his depiction of darkness' realm - which results in him growing out of his fear of the dark once he defeats darkness
I think the story we tell ourselves as children are magic in themselves, and I wanted to pay a tribute to that.

Thanks a lot !

And yes, this is completely fair criticism
We are definitely planning to add parry to the game after the jam. We noticed that it was really lacking a day before it ended but we prioritized polishing what we already have, correcting bugs and finishing the boss battle
We will be adding sprint as well

I really liked Into the Breach so I was pretty glad to see a strategy game like this in the jam !

The game is nice, but it appears to be quite buggy - I couldn't select any characters after picking a card at first
The boss disappears when resetting the last level as well

I think explaining combined attacks in the description could be a lot of help too (I hard a hard time figuring out how they worked) but it's a pretty neat idea I think

If you're willing to polish the game a bit after the jam, being able to select new cards by simply clicking on it instead of pressing "undo" would be pretty nice, especially for testing movement and attack targets

The art is just so cute
Roomba trashing and first cat game I've seen taking into account the hostility between cats, 10/10 x)

The owner of this place sure is gonna be pissed

Really nice art !
I also got softlocked into the first room in the dungeon with enemies though, both with and without equipment

This might sound silly but I really liked the dialogue/interaction UI
Very simple yet efficient

Thank you very much !

We did think about a sprint button at some point and then... forgot about it...
It will be added to the next update I think

I liked the idea behind the combat mechanic, but the game does not make use of it very much (maybe you could have added the same ennemies with randomized patterns multiple times ?)

Some little problems I had with the game were the window for the web build that does not match the game's ratio (so it looks a bit weird), and the text when facing an enemy goes by too quickly
A fullscreen mode could have been nice as well

Really nice concept, well executed

The instructions/controls hiding the upper part of the screen are quite annoying though, especially during fights (it hides the upper line of bricks) but that's the only weakness I have seen

The gameplay is very simple, but you really nailed the aesthetics.

I liked the map, I found it pretty clear and easy to use when you get to see the island's shape.

However, a little stamina meter would help get the game a bit more interesting I think (otherwise there is no incentive not to sprint the whole game and it breaks the tension).

It seems you have an html build but didn't check the "This game is playable in browser" checkbox, so there is no playable game on your itch.io page (although you can't change files, it seems like you can still just check the box - hope this could help you get more ratings)

I really like the art and the game controls seem like a lot of fun although I suck at platformers so I wasn't able to get very far x)

Really nice idea, and very well executed
Got a lot of fun playing this one
I'm especially fond of the controls being blocked, adds a lot of challenge to the game I think
I got a bit stumped at level 14, but I'm definitely coming back later to finish the game (I was really glad to see that game progress was saved !)

I really like the art and atmosphere of this game. Nice concept !

Very nice little game and great idea

Really great game ! You really nailed that a-ha! moment which I find pretty impressive to do with a 20 seconds game.

I really enjoyed the game and figuring out the solutions for each puzzle (though I have to admit I just winged the second one each time). The description really helps with figuring out what to do without being too "in your face" (pun intended).

(The fullscreen button is not really working though)

I'm not sure I get how to play the game - I understand you have to click on ghosts and play a melody (you said in a comment the melody has to start with F3 as is hinted on the start screen, is any notes fine as long as you start with F3 ?) but I'm not sure what the melody does - I think the game might benefit from a bit more feedback ?

The game seems to have a few bugs as well - at some point the ghosts just stop appearing just by continuing to click on them (before even trying out a melody), it lagged quite a few times (the screen freezes) and the countdown has a little issue where it starts at 23 then goes to 26 when the first ghost enters and starts decreasing normally from there (I played the web export)

It's been a while, but it just got added if you want to try it out

A great suggestion

I think it would be a good idea to make a web build for each of the games I've worked on

Thank you so much
We're really glad of how the slug game turned out, and how much people seem to have enjoyed it. At first we were worried it would be uninteresting but people seemed to enjoy it quite a bit.
And thank you for leaving a comment both here and on the jam page, it's very nice of you.

Thank you very much !
Sorry for the late reply, we tried to answer every comment from the jam but didn't notice at the time this one landed on the game page.

Thank you very much !
Minimalism was definitely a core design principle behind this project

Thank you very much =)

Thank you very much !

We added a little feedback for the mail one after various comments about this, hopefully it should be a little better. The mails remain the same though, the ambiguity is important to us in this one (since you would need time to read mails and sort them properly but you just don't have it)

Thank you very much !
Yeah I get it x)

And 97% is pretty impressive I think, it's the highest score I've heard of so far ! We added leaderboards with the last update, and the top score registered is at 96.5523 for now, so well done !

Thanks a lot ^^

Thank you so much ! We're very glad you noticed the clocks on the main menu =)

We added a little feedback for the mail one after various comments about this, so hopefully it should be a little better We've left the clock one as is though, since we thought the feedback was best to be had after completing the game once to encourage replaying and to avoid breaking the player's count

Thanks a lot !

We've put input prompts a bit earlier (on the game's title screen) as we noticed putting input prompts during minigames only confused a lot of people, so hopefully it should be a bit better now

Thank you so much !

Thank you very much !

Well, in the end we changed plans (we thought it might be good to rest before the holidays) so normally it should be fixed

It sure would really be a pain to do if you're using sprites rather than text, especially given the number of possible layout

That you very much !
