I really enjoyed this entry! very nicely executed!
Really good idea, nice entry !
This was very unique submission that I really enjoyed. The ghost art is really cute and the visuals are just really clean. I do think that a faster rate of fire could have made it feel a bit better, but overall a very nice submission.
P.S. 88s and 99s for my two runs
Wow this is really creative and cool interpretation of the theme!
That said, I think some quality-of-life improvements could help - like larger paint spots or higher shooting rate.
Really clever concept and great use of the theme! Had a lot of fun with this one, and the ghosts were very cute haha
I have a horrible sense of direction, but I managed to complete my first maze! Super creative, I love the little exploding ghosties. Great work :)
The idea is great! Finding the exit and buttons in a pure white maze by throwing black paint. It took me a minute and a half to find the exit. It would be really fun to do more levels.
The most interesting use of the theme so far, really creative!
Really fun entry! Loved the mechanic for theme. I wish the cooldown of the fire was a little shorter, but this was a fun little play. Great job.
Hi, thanks for playing. Yeah, the game doesn't communicate it very well but your fire rate and paint splash radius increase as you shoot down more ghosts.
Perfect interpretation of the theme!
But I still suggest making a few improvements:
1. Make the white not so bright (black is already as it should be).
2. Make the black spots geometrically irregular. (A long time ago, I saw such a concept in some review. And there, instead of circles, there were blots with splashes. And it really allowed me to navigate in space better.).
3. Disable the ghost collider just before the explosion. Because when you see the enemy, shoot at the enemy, hit the enemy, and the result is zero, it's a little frustrating...
P.S. Special respect for the Godot logo!
Thank you for the suggestions! Yeah, I initially intended to splatter multiple circles of differing sizes to keep the paint shape more irregular and random, but in the end I didn't have much time to make it look good and quite liked the uniform circles. Not sure what you meant by disabling ghost colliders, I assume the issue is when the ghosts spawn on top of you and you don't have time to hit them enough, before they self-destruct? (the game doesn't indicate this in any way but you have to hit the ghost 3 times for it to explode into black paint instead of white)
Yes, sorry, everything is fine with the collider! So I had problems with math. For some reason it seemed to me that 2 hits were needed. If there are so many, you can make an indicator. You can change the color of the paint bucket.
Love the concept.
Definetly one of my favourites so far. Really enjoyed pretty much every part of it, very creative, fun gameplay, a unique idea and just overall very good,
The only "criticism" I have is the fact that after a while everything gets painted black and it's hard to see where you're going.
This idea is literally perfect for the theme! I love the Unfinished Swan inspiration. Asides backtracking back to the start multiple times (probably cause because of the mouse sensitivity or something) there’s really nothing else to complain about. Perhaps the best implementation of the theme yet! :)
5/5 Creativity. Unique mechanic i have never play the game with that mechanic. Liked it so much. Good job!!!
I love the concept. Really unique idea!
This was the first jam entry I went for a 100% completion rate on, I was just so hooked by it!
Really unique take on the theme, this was perhaps the most "on the theme" game I have tried so far.
Great job! Managed to escape, I think, the ending flashed so quickly.
Wow. This was the best one I played so far. such a unique idea. The ghosts are really cute. Sometimes they do sneak up on me from the back and I don't know what hit me.
Changing the Godot loading screen to pixelated was also really cool. Is that something built in or did you redraw it into that pixel style?
Thank you :) yeah Godot allows you to change the loading screen logo so I redrew it in pixel art style
Thanks :)
really nice and unique idea :D
Made it out!!!
"Give me a bigger maze!"....... 👁
