Cool idea, and I like how it fit the theme.  I kind of wish the game was beatable, as it seemed you'd eventually just get overwhelmed.  I'd also maybe give the artifact 2-3 charges before it breaks, because as it stands, it's just really tedious.  Solid game!

This was a fun little entry.  The aiming could get a little stuck at points where the angles weren't possible, and it'd be nice to have an indicator or something, but other than that, I think this does what it set out to do.

Pretty fun little game.  The movement felt really good, and I liked the music and sfx.  I did manage to get soft locked on the second level, but overall loved the way that you gave lots of check points. Nice entry!

Had a lot of fun with that.

This was a cool idea, though a bit difficulty.  I really liked the music, and the general platforming was solid, though challenging.  One point of feedback is to try and add check points, as resetting back to the last area sometimes was really punishing.

Yeah, I was having fun with it :D Thanks for playing

Glad you liked it!  I modified an older tile set I made and added quite a few new assets. I think the lighting helps a ton.

Thanks for the kind words, and for playing! :3

Not much in the way of a game here, unfortunately.

Great job on capturing the tension / stress of waiting for the mom enter the room.  Really cool idea.  If my mom jump scared me like that, I'd just sleep :x

I had fun ideas for that ending but got to the time and was like 'eh.... this'll have to do' :D

Thanks for playing!  Yeah, I had a lot of fun dabbling with the lighting.  It's something so minor that changes a game's feel instantly.

Yeah, I turned off the collision so the item could 'land' and it led to two separate minor bugs :D

1. OnCollisionEnter2D is triggered, which sometimes makes the item help 'dig' another object, which is hilarious, and

2. Sometimes the collection bugs out.

Thanks for playing!  Crying Fowl 2 coming next time.

This was super cool, and I loved that the upgrades only worked for one color or another.  I really liked this, quite a lot.  My only critiques are that the graphics were a little basic, and the sfx / music sounded a bit generic, but overall I had a lot of fun with this.  Great job.

I really liked the ideas you had here.  Fun little hint text, really chill / creepy music, and the light mechanic was a bit fun.  The light could've definitely been 50% larger and you'd still have an awesome mechanic without being as frustrating, but overall, this was really cool.  Great job.

It took me a while to figure out exactly how this worked, but I really liked this idea / mechanic!  Super fun, short little game.  I think some minor polish would go a long way, but overall I really enjoyed this.

Fun little mechanic, and I liked the sound.  Definitely gets a little frantic, but I made it to 134.  Nice entry!

Really fun entry!  Loved the mechanic for theme.  I wish the cooldown of the fire was a little shorter, but this was a fun little play.  Great job.

Cool little mechanic.  It felt a lot better once I realized I could kill the enemies :D

You've built a pretty cool little world. A lot of really fun little touches have gone into it which add a really nice touch. I'd work a bit on polishing and presentation, but overall I found this pretty charming.  Looking forward to seeing your future games!

Phenomenal. Loved the experience.  Very polished, very cool concept/story/ambience.

Minor feedback:

1. The hand movement is really slow.  I realize that might be intentional, but after dying a few times (trying to understand the game), it felt crazy punishing.

2. The platforming and movement was a little jank.  I realize you spent the time where it needed to be spent.

Cool idea, way, way, way, way too hard for me. Too many notes, too fast, and the colors being on/off and then swapping is just a ton.  I think if the notes came at maybe half speed, it'd be approachable?  Also agreed with others, the controls were a bit different, and I had a really hard time getting used to them.

That all said, I thought this was a really cool idea, and could be expanded further.  The bit of music that I heard I really liked, and visually, I liked the overall presentation.  Good job!

A bit challenging for my taste, but I was a big fan of Hexic back in the day, so I like the core idea.

The theme is "black and white", which you can interpret however you'd like.  Just making your graphics black and white is certainly an approach, though keep in mind folks judge that as one of the criteria.

This was a fun idea.  Minor nits: the post-processing for the black/white made readability a bit challenging, and the game frozen for 1-2 seconds when vampires spawned.  Overall a bit stressful and chaotic, but I think it achieved what you were looking to achieve :D.  Great job.

I really liked the art, and overall liked the general concept.  I wish it had a litttttle more polish (adding music takes a very little amount of effort!), but overall thought the aesthetic was really cohesive.  Nice job.

I liked the world and overall tone of the game, but the lack of QOL left a bit to be desired.  Things felt a bit slow, and it was hard to know exactly where to click.  Then I just randomly got killed, so idk :D

Hah, that was cool.  I thought it was going to have a bit more depth with the growing system, so would love to see more.  The lighting and overall darkness was really well done.

This was a cool concept.  I like how you require the character to be invisible to be able to stand on the ledge - really solid level of depth for difficulty.  I was expected this to be closer to a rage game, so I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to beat it without too much difficulty :D Nice entry!

A little too RNG heavy for my taste, but overall implemented well.  Would've liked to see a little more, but good job on the entry.

This was pretty cool.  It took me a bit to really understand the concept, but I liked the overall fresh presentation on a core mechanic like papers please. Solid interpretation of the theme!

I really enjoyed this.  I thought at first it was somehow time based, but once I slowed down and examined the puzzles, I had a lot of fun.  Nice usage of the theme.

I thought this was a surprisingly clever twist in the classic snake. The adding of the different wall colors made this into a deceptively complex little game. Overall, a big fan of the design. I was definitely confused at first, but once it was pointed out to pay attention to the outer square color, i understood the game much better.

I really enjoyed the concept of toggling between the worlds and having to navigate both simultaneously. The visuals were as little too stark and high contrast for my taste, but that's only because I had to frequently switch back and forth. Causes some pretty severe eye strain :D overall, really cool idea.

Agreed with others - solid concept, just wanted a little more!

Great job on finishing your first jam entry - it's a lot of work! I liked the idea, and overall i had a lot of fun with the platforming, but the movement is quite buggy. Looking forward to your future games!

I had fun with this one, and appreciated the overall presentation. There were some minor issues like the enemy agro range and lack of ammo, but it felt good in general.

This was really polished, and the action felt really satisfying. The gameplay itself seemed a little basic, but it felt really good overall. One issue I found was that I made it to the third level as a ghost and nothing seemed to happen, like the game soft-locked. Really solid entry.

(1 edit)

This seems to be quite broken in web build, but I like the overall idea.

I love these style games with the day night upgrade loop. Very satisfying, but died a bit too easily. Will likely revisit to beat this one, enjoyed it quite a bit.
