Excelent music, visuals and gameplay. As an Overcooked fan I can say you  did a pretty good job! Congrats on that game, I'm saving to show to my gf this week, she's a great fan of Overcooked.

Developer(+1)

o/ Thanks for playing our game! We really aimed to achieve this Overcooked-esque experience, so I'm glad you liked it :)
In the future, we plan to add multiplayer to the game, so you will be able to play together with her, as true Overcooked fans :p

Submitted

Nice! It will be fun to play in multiplayer!

This turned out really cool! Out of all the jam games I’ve played, I enjoyed this one the most. Great music and graphics! But here are a few issues I noticed:

  1. Without the GIFs, it was completely unclear how to play at first, and it’s a bit strange that the ingredient boxes aren’t highlighted or labeled with what’s inside.

  2. A tiny nitpick: the default Godot focus outline around the "Start Game" and "Next Recipe" buttons could be removed.

  3. It seems like there’s no FPS lock, so my computer gets heavily loaded while running the game.

Developer

Hey! Thank you for playing! I actually had the same ick about the focus outline of the buttons, I hadn't removed them because I was completely rushing them lmao (but they are coming off for sure!) About the FPS lock I don't even know how to do it but our dev will really look into it, the same with the ingredient boxes, we will be updating post-jam and this is our top priority! (We will create a tutorial stage so it helps future players!) Thanks again for playing, really glad you enjoyed it!

JOGO INCRÍVEL DESSE TIME BRASILEIRO INCRÍVEL TAMBÉM!!!

I've never played Overcooked, so it took me a minute to figure it out (I couldn't find the bugs, oops), but then it was quite fun. The movement was smooth, the pace was reasonable, and I loved your main character (kinda looks like my main character, no?).  3D in a jam is always impressive to me, as well. The music was really relaxing and actually made the experience feel really soothing and calming, which I loved. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing our game! When I played your game I also thought your main character looked like the little wizard, so interesting! (maybe collab material? lmao I wouldn't say no!) Also, I'm so glad you liked the music, you felt exactly what I planned to convey when I was composing it! Thank you so much for you review!

Woah alchemy + Overcooked, I really like the unique take on this type of game! It's very fun, once you figure out the controls I can see myself sinking hours into more levels (or if you take it in a more roguelike aspect, either way still very fun). As others have said, a more in-depth tutorial where maybe the game guides you through a first potion, and/or maybe button indicators when your at the station (ex: an E key shows up if you're near the cutting board) just for more clarity, as well as images for the boxes since at the beginning I was very confused where to get the ingredients.

Overall, the game is really good and mostly just lacks clarity, I'd be excited to see/hear more if you guys intend to update it :D (Also, multiplayer would be sick)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! Yeah, we plan on updating it for sure! We have plans to an actual full release of it! And yeah, it does need some clarification for the ingredient boxes and controls, we are actually working on it at this moment to update as soon as possible when the jam ends! And actually funny you talk about multiplayer, the game was supposed to be multiplayer from the start, but due to time constraints we couldn't pull it off! Thank you again for playing our game!

Submitted(+3)

I thought the game was very cute and I liked that it was sort of like a more calming, less chaotic version of Overcooked! I wasn't able to figure out how to execute all the steps so I think some sort of tutorial would help a lot, but I love the concept and am very excited to see where you all take this game! great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for playing!
Yep, definitely need to get that tutorial as fast as possible in the game when the jam is done😅
I hope you stick around for the updates!! :)

Submitted(+3)

fun: really fun, reminds me of Overcooked, this would be really fun with multiplayer, need a tutorial tho, took me a while to realize what buttons to press and where to get the ingredients from, but still the gameplay was really good, you could add more recipes with time

Presentation: love the 3d models very good, the sound design is good as well, also the drawing at the start. amazing

creativity: very good idea, wizards making potion in a short time, fits the theme well, great job

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing it, I'm glad it was fun.

Yeah, it definitely needs some instructions on how to play and where to get the ingredients, we'll work on that when the jam ends.
We're definitely thinking on adding more levels and recipes :)

I'm happy you liked the 3d models, Cyan did an amazing job at them, and I'm pleased you liked my little overcooked-inspired drawings!
Again, I'm so grateful you had fun with our game...

Submitted(+1)

You're welcome😊, I loved playing Overcooked with my cousins, it was really fun, I'm sure this game can become a great full game, though you do need to add some of your touch, changing the food to position is not enough, you do need to add more things to make your game stand out. I'd love for you to try my game, I'm sure you're gonna love it 😁

Developer(+1)

I'll definitely check your game out :)

Submitted(+3)

Overcooked but making potions instead of food? Great, I'm in! Got this recommendation from my friend woJinho on discord (shoutout to him, one of the best brazilians out there) and I really enjoyed it, my gf who is a huge fan of Overcooked wanted to play it too :)

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! I really hope you and your girlfriend enjoyed it.
Lol, I'll definitely give a shoutout to woJ :)

Submitted(+3)

Great game the concept and mechanics are really good the art too and I read the name as too many potatoes😂 🤣 🤣

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing it! Glad you enjoyed our little game! Lmao too many potatoes! (I think we already have our next big hit, team!) Thank you so much!

Submitted(+3)

Great game! You guys managed to make something really cool. I have no idea how you managed to make such a full featured game only 10 days. I really liked the hand-drawn artwork. Contrasting the tutorial section with the 3D gameplay was really fun. My kind of game :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you, really! Everyone on the team is really talented in their fields of expertise and poured so much love into this project! I had the idea of the little tutorial before each stage, but actually it's just a placeholder lmao, the real stuff will come after the jam ends! (It was supposed to be a little book where you can check anytime the recipes during the gameplay). We appreciate you playing our game and writing out such a wholesome review, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Developer

Just wanted to say
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE FANART!!
It's soo cute

Congrats for the amazing art mate<33

Submitted(+3)

Potion seller wasnt kidding, I couldnt handle that potion. Crazy  that you were able to make a wizard overcooked in such a short time. Took me some time to figure out to where to get the ingredients from but other that really cool!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you so much for playing! I'm really glad you enjoyed it! The team worked really hard for this jam haha, we were supposed to deliver a little more but we were afraid of it being too ambitious lmao. Thank you again!

Submitted(+3)

The 3d model is so smooth , i can see this game have some heavy insparation from Overcooked but it is in a fantasy world where you make potions. It was very fun , and if you can play with your friends it would be even more fun.

Developer

Thank you for playing it! It is heavily inspired by Overcooked indeed lol! Glad you enjoyed the experience, and don't worry, co-op will be added in the near future, so keep your eyes open for future updates! Thank you so much!

Submitted(+3)

Really loved the 3d models also the amount of polish this game has is insane like the reflection of the wizard from the bottles, loved the mechanics and peaceful sound effects with the bg music, really great game although i had some issues understanding what i had to do first but then i read the description of the game and everything became clear.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! Oh yeah, Cyan was a lifesaver for this project ngl, I love the exposure and the very deserved love his art is getting with this jam! I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+3)

Interesting idea! ✨
I like the 3D aesthetic you guys are going for, from my understanding this is inspired by "Overcooked" and the twist you can drink your own potions, which would've been great if the potions actually has positive effects, I feel like if that was the case it would've been a very interesting dillema for the player, either you drink the potion now to help you make potions even faster or serve it now. This game definitely needs more time in the oven, I have a lot more to say but I think the others have already expressed some of it, focus on those and you'll have a pretty neat game!

Developer

Hi! Thank you for playing! The potions have only debuffs because it was supposed to be a multiplayer game lol (it will be eventually), but yeah, you are right, I had brought this up when we were coming up with ideas for the game but it was discarded 😅. It does take inspiration in Overcooked how did you know? (lmao this is a joke). We appreciate you giving your time to play and write a review on it though! From the team, TYSM!

Submitted(+3)

I love the 3d art and the music! I wish there was a tutorial that told you the controls and where the ingredients were. Once I figured that out it was fun and definitely is a concept you could build upon!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yeah, we absolutely need to do something about the controls and the ingredients ASAP, but i'm glad you actually had fun playing after figuring it out! Thank you!

Submitted(+3)

the game looks amazing, love the art style, the recipe menu drawings are very cute and add a lot of charm. I sucked at getting many orders in, but that is skill issue by my part, not a keyboard player for this kind of game. only thing I'd add is a couple more particles and texture/color changes to accentuate the things a bit on the pan and cauldron.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you for playing! We actually have animations and particles done for them but forgot to implement because we were running out of time haha! We will be adding controler input in the near future so stay tuned! Really glad you liked it! Also, did you know you can drink your own potions? You should try one hahaha

Submitted(+3)

The game is exciting! It would be easier if the cauldron changed its color.

Developer(+1)

Actually, Cyan, our designer did animations for all the tables but we were running out of time so we forgor to implement them lol. Thank you for playing it!

Submitted

Yes, I understand, we had similar problems.

Submitted(+3)

Nice game, but it should have had better explaination on the E and Space keys... By reading the desc I thought they were the same and could not understand why pressing E didn't do anything...

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! Now that you mentioned it, it makes sense! It was 3 am when we submitted the game so I just wrote that and never bothered to check if it was correct, thank you for your feedback on this, I'm gonna review and rewrite it with the correct instructions! Thank you so much!

Submitted(+3)

Had a bit of a hard time finding the ingredients but when I did it was kinda smooth sailing! Still liked the game :>

Developer

Thank you so much! Yep the ingredients strike back lmao, it's our number one priority to get it more evident after the jam is over. Thank you!

(1 edit) (+3)

I see so many people saying they had a hard time finding the ingredients, but no one explains where they actually are! I still can't find them T_T

Edit: Okay I figured it out right after posting this lol. They're in the gray squares immediately to the left and right of the skillet at the bottom. You've got a good base to build on here, nice work!

Developer

I'm glad you figured it out!

We did receive some feedback already telling us about the boxes of ingredients...
We'll definitely make it easier to see the ingredients in the box after the jam is over.
Thanks so much for the feedback, appreciate it!
