Great game! The use of the limited field of view is excellent. The only thing missing is more combat-oriented parts, but I still found it less linear than something like Spore's first stage. The creatures you can create are also visually appealing.
Such a fun game , I would love to see this expanded upon with more enemies, more building parts etc.
This is so much fun, I love it.
I really enjoyed the building aspect of the game!
games with an editor are always fun!great work!
Very good, concept is nice. I wanted to make something related to building too. Actually, as a hint, better is to place one eye, tentacle and spiked tentacle, and just react to enemies, almost infinitely. After that, there is nothing to do, enemies do not evolve. Overall, i liked this game, pretty polished.
This is a really cute game! I like the aspect that you really cannot see the world initially, adds to the fact that in reality thats how it works probably if ur a tiny organism :D
my strategy was simple, I just create two spiky legs, with one normal leg, then I press rotate, and no enemy can kill me (mean while I can gain their DNA by walking forward!) I got 3k dna from that lol
THen I build a monstrosity hahahaha, I liked every part of it! Good game, really enjoyable
I tried it again as well. Seems I forgot to update the build where the spiky tentacles break after some uses. :D Thanks for playing!
Okay, this was rad. I loved every part of this. I'm a big spore fan, and the vibes were there. The art style was nice and creepy. Honestly, altogether very good entry.
Awesome game! Not too many points for failure once you have a few spikey tentacles and a couple movement ones
OK it seems I forgot to update the build where the spiky tentacle breaks after some uses, oh no! :D But I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for playing!
This was so fun, very enjoyable gameplay.
I greatly enjoyed playing! Spore stage one meeting Lovecraft in pixel art? Count me in. One of my favorite games in the jam so far, and it feels very solidly put together and finished.
If anything, I'd say balancing could be improved. Putting two spiky tentacles and one for moving seemed a bit overpowered: Even without vision I could simply spin in place and survive for a long time.
Thanks for the feedback and playing the game!
Yeah balancing is a hard act. I need to get people to playtest it, but I guess that is part of the rating in the jam.
I was thinking of making the rotation speed also be attached to the amount of tentacles you have. That would make it actually better in that case if you spin in place. Didn't think of that! :D Spiky tentacles do break after few hits though so at least I tried :D
Really great game! Reminds me of the first section of Spore (which was one of the best parts of the game imo)
Art and sound design are excellent.
Thanks for making this!
I like that part of Spore too! I can see the resemblance now haha! :D
I really love the build system, makes me want to try making a game with that concept. Controls took me a bit to figure out, but I think it becomes easy once you understand them. Overall fun game I enjoyed it!
The Build System is really cool. But i could turn bodys at somepoint anymore :)
If you lose all tentacles, you can't move. Maybe it's that? Thanks for playing!
The early is a little slow but nice concept
Yeah, it's kinda hard to balance this kinda thing. I didn't have any playtesters other than myself. Thanks for playing!
