The platforming is very satisfying. I also liked how the aging mechanic affected the platforming. It would be even cooler if aging were strictly tied to time, making precise movements essential. I like it.
Very unusual game, too bad only 1 sprite for all ages.
Great use of the limitation and also the theme (evolution). Also quite enjoyable game.
Really liked this! Only complaint would be its hard to decern just from the sprite what age it is, maybe a physical change there would make it a bit more readable (the big sign is nice but I forgot to check it a lot)
It was fun and has some amazing sfx! Wish there were a few more levels though lol.
Nice little experience. The Kenney assets look great :) The custom binds was interesting.
Suddenly becoming old was a funny time. “That moment when I felt old” I think if there were a visual age indication on the player, like a color tint, it could save me from checking the top left of the screen.
The game is certainly an interesting concept!
I was shocked a bit to find theres actually custom keybindings in this game! Which is not very common in jam games specifically, so Good job on that!
I also like the fact that you actually grow old with a certain time frame, and simple puzzles that only work if you die. The second puzzle, because the time frame was a bit short on from the "adult -> old person" I had to really restart a few times just to really get over it!
sadly theres only two levels, but the concept is certainly interesting!
Nice concept! Need some polish and more levels but the concept is really interesting!
I had first trouble getting past few checkpoints, but managed to finish after few tries. The fact the character ages just after small amount of time makes it hard. If it were just you who can change the age then it would be easier. But I guess it wouldn't be challenging then. It would be nice if the sprite changed somewhat when the aging happens. different ages could have different skills to move forward, now there is just walls to block you.
Anyway it's fun and music and art is nicely put together. Though not sure what's up with the background in main menu.(OK that is Firefox just bugging out, works fine on chromium browser like Edge. I have similar issue with browsers...)
Thanks for the feedbacks.
I didn't use shader to not have that kind of issue, but Firefox won't let me so easily !
maybe it's issue with TileMapLayer. I noticed it gets all black on my game on firefox even in the main menu.
I would have loved to see the character sprite evolve with the age, even just grow or get grey-y Right now it felt more like a speedrunny platformer :O But good job !!! Can’t wait to see another of your games down a jam !!!
I tried to mess with the size, but not looked well, the gray for the elder phase is a nice idea
or just 3 sprites, also an option :*
