cute concept, i found it charming in a way... but id probably consider this less of a game and more of an experience, due to the lack of a true gameplay.

character designs looks really good, i found their designs to be pretty appealing.

Developer(+1)

oof but yeah you're right LOL. we did wanted to add a few more stuff but we didn't have enough free time during the week

It would be cool to have more options to be strategic, but it was also kind of a vibe? Like just hitting each other and if someone is too strong one looses. The enemies looked really good and I liked the soundeffects, overall it all feels good to me. Pokemonesque. I wish I could see myself because when you do so cool enemies I bet you can make a really cool maincharacter.

only managed to get into the 3rd monster :"D

limited heal count is really hard to manage :'

I like the cute art style btw ^^

Seems like a classic turn based rpg type combat system, I enjoyed the art and beating up beet! I'm not sure if I missed a mechanic but ended up having to flee after the 3rd enemy where I had run out of heals and they were left with too much health for me to take down

Good job on completing a game for the jam!

I'm not entirely sure if I understood it correctly, but to me, it's a button-mashing game. I liked the graphic style, and I'm curious to see what else you’ll do with it

Jam Judge(+2)

First off lets adres the elephant in the room, gameplay.

In practice we have 2 buttons, hit & heal. so it ends up being button masher with pray to the rng lords. @Lepard did tell me the vision on how it will be improved so its nice to hear you guys have a clear vision/path on that!

Granted its a 1 week jam, so stuff happens!

I really liked the music attached to each phase especially p3 it felt like something you'd hear in the GBA Fire Emblem's ( one of my fav game series so big W )

Did catch a few bugs & issues :

- flee = game crash.

- CLS when attacking ( stuff moves to a different spot for no reason )

- Switching from fullscreen to window bugs out the window.

Stuff you can improve :

Add colorbands to the UI elements like you did with the enemies, it will give the buttons and UI so much more visual clarity.

Make sure font-borders are thick enough so its easily readable when its color on color.

Scene transitions, will make the game feel more stuck together.

More micro animations & micro sfx, attacking enemies does this really well- but its not implemented everywhere in the same matter of detail.

Goodluck in implemented the full vision of this game <3

so cute

i really dug the music in phase 2; the beginning of the song reminded me of some retro OST or another but i can't remember which.  it was a nice experience to click through!

Submitted(+1)

Definitely fits the theme! Just not that much to do. I like the switch to a different color set when beating them up ;D

Submitted(+2)

Nice, would have loved to do the enemy design for this. And kinda clever implementation of the theme :)

Developer(+1)

TYSM, maybe we could jam together next time :D

Submitted(+1)

Sure, remember me when youre about to hit the next jam :)

Got softlocked on the first run. Music and art are good tho.

Developer

how did you get softlocked?

Submitted(+1)

I like the music. I wish there was more to it than just attacking though, like if there were different moves for example. The art is also quite nice.

Developer

yeah, we wanted to implement a rhythm game to attack and block but we where cut short on time... please look forward to the postjam tho ;D

Hi, May I ask how to open windowed mode? I don't see the Itch full screen button.
It should look like this:

It's an option in your itch page:

Developer(+1)

yeah we've had that problem in our playtesting too. for some reason, it only happened in operagx

As for the fullscreen option... idk if its against the rules to add it

Submitted(+2)

its an itch page setting, so its allow. Its not againts the rules to add it.

Also, im using chrome to play it so i suspect its monitor resolution issue. Im using a 27 inch monitor.

Submitted(+1)

I liked the concept! Very cool, flee crashed the game, which is kinda funny haha XD

Developer(+1)

THANK YOU

ALSO yeah, flee is supposed to be an exit button in the downloadable build LOL

This soundtrack is awesome. Good stuff

Was not expecting to fight evil anime villain beet. Nice entry!

Developer

evil anime villain beet isn't real, he can't hurt you

The art was great, and the music was even better! Escaping seems to just stop the game, though, and the small window size causes the boss to be off-screen for most of the game. It would be better if there was a full-screen button or the window was bigger.

Developer(+1)

We really apreciate those comments, its pretty much a win for us. The flee button is actually a way to exit the game in the downloadable build. We where gonna add a full screen mode but we forgot :(

We are currently fixing bugs and actually adding a beat to the game so... please look forward for the post jam updates :D
