Nearly perfect but could have used some ingame control introduction. I was only moving left and right until I died after a while and only then read the description 😅Gave me a lot of C64 vibes, probably because of the music.

HostSubmitted

visually stunning the art was very pleasing to look at while still remaining visually readable, game cover art and page also looks very nice.

gameplay was very interesting and fun, though I feel like the music/beat aspect could have been more impactful, the warning sign also felt kinda pointless after a point since theyr just always onscreen, they shud appear closer to when an attack spawns.

there are times when my keypresses werent registering. also being able to hold a button to move might also be a good addition.

This is really cool!! I loved the art in this - the way the spaceship and projectiles are animated is really nice!

Really cool vibes. i feel like something on the rythm of movement could have been a bit faster overall. Really fun game !

Simply put. Wow.

Very nice mix between bullet hell and rhythm game!
The visuals & musics are really great!
Awesome work!

Liked the intro as well. Even though this isnt my type of genre this game seems well crafted. Think i would have liked a continuous movement more.

The intro already looks amazing, and the music fits perfectly. The game is a lot of fun!!

The music and art are actually perfect, such a good job on that. The gameplay a bit hard but feels very complete. I didn't fully grasp the beat mechanic but other than that, this game really impressed me. I also really like the starting art as well. Nice work overall!

Really enjoyed the game. Awesome vibe, art and audio. Gameplay is well executed, the telegraphing is helpful and slow motion feels very cool. The difficulty progression was a bit steep starting with threats coming from both directions and the end felt almost impossible to read the pattern and survive. I would have appreciated getting a score when dying :D

Overall amazing experience, well done!

Tempest 2000 vibes (I'm old)

Nice work!

Developer

I've actually never heard of Tempest 2000, but I took a look and it looks interesting!

Thanks for playing!

This game reminds me of Super Hexagon

very fun rhythm game XD

the artstyle is really good too XD

I like the time mechanic too really  cool to play in rhythm game XD

Developer(+1)

Thanks, that was actually one of my inspirations for the game! Appreciate the feedback, and thanks for playing!

The art and music is awesome, game feels juicy and very simple to understand and get into! Great work :)

Awesome, having a juicy game is definitely one of my focuses so glad you enjoyed!

LET'S GOOOOO

^ Me the whole game.
I grew up playing bullet hell. Bullet hell has a special place in my heart from all the Realm of the mad god that I've played. ❤️

The movement is also tied with the beat which is really cool!
Some parts do feel a bit unfair like I'm forced to take damage for no reason.

^like what do I do 😭

Developer

LETS GOOOO congrats on beating the game! I also have thousands of hours and in ROTMG funnily enough haha happy to see another realm player here!

I wanted to make the game challenging but fair and not tooo hard; each phase was designed with the intention of being no-hittable. Unfortunately the game sometimes lags and stacks shots from multiple beats leading up to situations like the one in your last screenshot, this bug seems to be more prevalent on web and doesn't happen in engine making it hard to debug :').

Thanks for the feedback and hope you enjoyed the experience!

Really polished well made entry, art, shaders, music,

Whilst casually playing we managed to beat it in vc; but we hardly believe the fact I overcame my skill issue with games like these.

Feedback I can give :

- telegraph availible inputs during start, A, D & Space ( localised ;) )

- allow faster movement & holding down of the keys

- extra levels to play ( maybe a way for community to make maps? :o )

Would also be great if you get the timing lag death & easy mode fixed.

As said before and said in VC really polished entry, especially knowing this was a 1 week jam, great job!

Developer

Thanks again for playing! Really great feedback, looking into implementing some of your suggestions. I especially like the idea of giving custom map creation! The system I developed actually already has a lot of tools for creating/processing events in the proper schema and I think it'd be really neat for generating new maps!

The visuals in this game are absolutely stunning — I was immediately drawn in by how beautiful everything looks. The gameplay is definitely challenging, but in a way that’s still fun and keeps you coming back. The music and sound design is fantastic, especially during the chronobreak drive — loveed hearing that part. I can't wait for easy mode to be fixed for people like me hahaha! 😅

Developer

Thank you so much for playing, hope you enjoyed the experience!! I appreciate the kind feedback and letting me know about the easymode bug! Happy to say that easy mode is fixed and it changes the mechanics to be a bit more forgiving, hope you can revisit it soon!

Submitted

Super stellar and mesmerizing!! The music is a bop and I haven't managed to beat it yet, but the art and movement is dope! I also love the title's logo design a ton :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing!!! I'm super happy to hear you like the music, visuals, and mechanics! Easy mode is fixed for the post jam update,  it changes up the mechanics a bit so hope the experience is smoother for you then! But if you want to beat the normal mode, I believe in you! You got this!!

Submitted

I cannot beat it, and the start button for easy mode doesn't work. Otherwise, best game I've played in the jam so far.

Developer

Thanks for playing and pointing out the "bug" with the easymode! The easy mode is fixed for the post jam version, but for now the struggle is part of the fun haha >:)

People down in the comments are saying that this game is a master piece. THAT IS TRUE. Every detail is made with a precise and unique view. A person(or a team idk sry) who made this is a true master that understands how games should work. That was a truly fan abd interesting experience. No mistakes, just pure enjoyment. 10/10.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing the game and for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the experience we made; our team was retroindiejosh who handled the great music and sfx, and myself who handled the programming/ art/ game design!

I never knew 1 bit arts can be this beautiful!!!
For the feedbacks, my only issue is with the controls. I think if you can incorporate  player movements with the beats, then it should work. The music is LIT , I will love to move by following the beats rhythm. I think either make all attacks and player movements follow the beats like player and attacks, or make player moves continuously instead of requiring to tap

Also, not sure why, but the start button for easy mode does not work for me:

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing, Hope you had fun! Also appreciate the feedback and letting me know about the bug! Took  a look and it was a two click fix haha

As for the controls, the player movement window and attack spawning does move according to the beat! Attack events will be processed every 2 beats (with wait events as well) and player can move every 1 beat (but i did just notice that beat movement grace window was a little large so maybe this gave the movement an odd feeling when trying to follow the beat?). I do like the idea of the attacks actually moving outwards/inwards with the beat, could be an interesting visual definitely worth trying!

Good luck!!! I think this game has alot potential as a mobile game too, that require players to swipe left right for dodging. Might need to think how to activate the other keys though .. hahahah
