Honestly fantastic. This was a fun playing, great little jam game. I'm very impressed! I think the music was catchy, the art was great, the gameplay felt good, and overall just a wonderful time.
I might add like one power up, maybe something that reduces my barking cooldown so i can spam barks for 15 seconds, and maybe another enemy type, just to add a little bit of variety. Nothing crazy complex, keep it simple. I think a progress metre showing how far along the level I am might have been a welcome thing too.
But regardless. Very impressed, highly rated. Great stuff.
Really interesting! I can't believe you were able to cram in multiple opponents, a card shop, deck building, an element system, all in the time span of a game jam. I really really like all the unique card art you were able to make. I love the idea of crafting my own deck but I think alice was maybe too easy of an opponent to really be incentivized to try to craft something stronger then the default one i was given.
I think you have soooooooo much content here, maybe it would have been better to single in on one part or ax something, just for the sake of the jam, otherwise I think this is a really excellent start to something you can (and should) keep working on.
Had fun, well done!
Its funny, the last game I made, the biggest feedback I got was how hard the game was. Obviously this is just R/P/S but here were my thoughts on cranking up difficulty. Instead of just playing it normally, after 6 or so rounds. flip it so you have to "lose", then make the player "match" what the opponent throws. But I was actively trying to make it pretty easy. Maybe to fault.
Really fun! Enjoyed it a lot, played through it three times. I think this is a great start to a fun minigame or could be the beginning of a great rythm game. I would be compelled to see where you can take this with a second song and some more creative ideas.
I think some silly sfx, particles, tricks and showy flashes and overall "juice" might make it a more interesting scene. For example, when you lose HP, take the chunk you lose off and make it fall off screen instead of just draining the bar. You could add sound effects to getting hit, or charging. Make you or the opponent flash and emit particles and in general give more feedback to the player for hits/blocks/charging will go a long way.
But all together, a very tight, well made, fun jam game. Good job!
I played through the game twice, not to bad. I think there might be a bug where if I repair one pipe i end up repairing them all, so this made the game fairly easy.
The idea is nice and I think if there was more time to introduce a few other levels, and some other ways to interact with steam, beyond just bombs, you could have some interesting puzzles.
It's a good start.
