Tried the game. It respects the theme, is well done and I like the concept. Sometimes when I put a light after defeating the enemies the game will block itself.

Developer

I'm not sure I understand; can you please clarify what you mean by the game blocking itself?

Submitted

When I put the light after defeating enemies during the tutorial I can’t do anything. Tried to put other cards, nothing. No enemy showed up and I was standing here.

Developer

That's odd. I'm not sure why that would happen. Well, if you find the time, you can perhaps try again.

Very nicely done! Simple concept that goes with the theme of collaborating with AI. Nicely puts a spin on a classic genre. The ticks being synchronized with the music is a very nice fun touch, and the ending is a nice little surprise too ;)

Just some minor critiques
- FTUE: it took me a while to understand how to hand the pieces to the robot.
- Gameplay: a bit too easy (I think I failed to kill the boss and still won)
- Some basic UI (intro screen/menu with some settings/credits) would add polish.

Definitely one of the strongest submissions I've played so far. A lot of nice things going on here. Well done!

Thank you very much for the detailed feedback.

We're definitely aware of the shortcomings of the game, all of which we will obviously blame on time constraints; after all, this game was literally submitted in the last minute, as we were still dealing with bugs until then.

We would have definitely added a menu and made everything clearer if given more time; perhaps we overscoped a bit though. As far as the gameplay being too easy goes—I personally definitely prefer difficult games, so I wasn't sure how to approach it here; I decided to follow Jonas' advice on making the game easy to finish so everyone can experience it fully in the limited time they can spend on playing one game. The final boss deals 5 damage to you instead of 1 as a balancing factor though.

I enjoyed this game very much and I really am impressed with the visuals. Good Job!

This has been one of the best games I've  played from WJ4. The idea that it happens inside of a computer reminds me of System Defender from Club Penguin.

The mechanic that the robot places the towers for you is pretty  neat, but also makes it quite hard as you can't just place 99% of your towers at the beginning of the track.
I finished the game with 1 life :D

Is where the robot will place the tower random or somehow chosen?

Played it again and finished the game with 8 HP, I guess the strategy is to place the components as fast as possible and using as many robot upgrades as possible. :)

Thank you very much for the feedback!

As for the placement, the robot uses an algorithm which determines the best spots based on how much coverage of enemy paths they have. Then it chooses either the best, worst or medium ones depending on its intelligence level.

The strategy indeed tends to be to always play components, but at least the decision-making comes from figuring out the order.

One of the absolute best games I’ve seen so far, really incredible!

Using Ai to place turrets in a tower defense game is such a great idea and such in topic that I’m envious I didn’t get it myself! But along with the idea the realization is also so good that I’m amazed about how you two managed to get this done in only 3 days and a half: the visuals are cute and on point, the music is entertaing and fits the theme, the setting is original and having to manage the robot’s stats while being able to attract it with light are incredible mechanical spins on the genre.

Geez, I had so much fun playing that I’m sad there isn’t a score at the end to challenge myself or a restart button to retry it all quickly. Absolutely great, would love to see more in the future, so you’ve both gained a follower! ^-^

Thank you very much for the detailed feedback!

I would have definitely loved making the game replayable, especially as I find it quite fun myself; however it couldn't have been the main focus due to both time constraints of us making the game and the others playing it.

And thank you for the follow. I enjoyed your game quite a lot as well, so, likewise!

Really fun gameplay, the visuals are great, and so is the sound - overall felt like it had been well balanced, would like to see more if it gets continued after the jam :)

Very good concept and execution. Really like the music and the visuals. A menu system for pause / quit would have been nice. Still a great submission.

The game's pacing is really good! Mainly because I was able to beat it in a reasonable amount of time. Also it would be nice if the robot didn't take so long to upgrade/repair themself.

Nice game! The graphics look great, I do think there should be an indicator on where to put the cards (I got stuck on that for a bit), also I'm like 90% sure I didn't kill the final jellyfish boss? And it just went in? Other than that its a great game.

I loved this game and your take on it that instead of us placing the tower or items, AI will do it for you, and you have some control over where to place by lights. Nice take on theme. Could be developed as full fledged game :)

Wow, that was great! It all feels very fluid and flowy, just like a good game should! I just wish there was more to play!!

THIS IS AMAZING! My most favorite game in the entire game jam! You deserve to win it!

This definitely has the potential to win the Jam in my opinion.

This is my favorite one so far! It's really satisfying to play and fits the theme very well! I absolutely loved the ending xD I'd suggest to explain about the AI repairs a little more clearly, or at least the brain one, just because it took me some time to realise the AI was getting dumber (which I think is a great mechanic btw) xD And maybe giving us some more lights to call the AI would be nice (just a little more tho). Great game, great work ^^

Very nice concept you have there! Also the visuals are pretty good!
