Liked it a lot, but despised how it paused me when it was talking. Threw off pacing.

Amazing game(: but its very buggy though):

I like this game! You have very nice voice acting, at the tutorial dont stop the player, please:) Great idea!

Cute game! I loved the music and the artstyle is really cute. Unfortunately, I couldn't get past the timed level because for whatever reason, every time I used the spikes to launch me up out of the screen, I'd still see the bottom part of the level even though I was at the top. And the buttons feel a little buggy. Other than that though, awesome game!

Developer(+1)

Really sorry about that. All the panning is done super manually through the code and it's fairly buggy, especially on the last level. Thanks for the feedback, especially with the music, it's one of the first tracks I'm actually happy with. Thanks for playing! :D

Submitted

The visuals - especially the little dude in the background's sprite - were really nice! Disabling the monkey's movement/jumping during the intro and voice lines was incredibly frustrating, though, at least for me. :P

Developer

Yeah, it totally wasn't annoying just for you, the most requested piece of feedback... But thank you for playing! :D

Really good game!I like the graphics a lot! Also i had a robosapien when i was 6 and this is a fuuny tribute to the robosapien! Also check out my game:https://itch.io/jam/wowie-jam-3/rate/940340

Developer

Woah, a robosapien is a real thing? I didn't know that! Also, just a little heads up for the future, if you leave good feedback on someone's rating page, itch will automatically show your game beneath the comment, so if you leave good feedback, people will be more inclined to try your game, rather than linking it in your own comment, I'll still check it out. Thanks for playing! :D

Submitted

yeah thank you for the adviceI thought this is a tribute to robosapien ; )

Cool game! The puzzles were really fun to figure out and the gameplay was really fluid. I think I did come across a bug, though. On the level after the level that introduces bananas, after I ground-pounded the button it took me to another level but the character is nowhere to be found. Regardless, the game was really fun to play and the voice acting was phenomenal. Great job!

Developer

Yeah, really sorry about that, the last level is kinda buggy if you die in the upper area, but either way, thanks for playing! :D

Submitted

I wish I'd be able to skip the early voice lines. Also, the glitch on the end really ruined the experience. The worst thing is that I'm pretty sure I know the solution to the last puzzle. Doing what you told me to do to fix it did not work.

Developer

I'm really sorry for the bugs, there's a lot that was left unpolished. Thanks for playing! ':D

the narrator wobbling up and down on his glass window is the best!

I played it quickly now, will come back to ask more questions about Godot tips and tricks you used !

Developer(+1)

I'd love to share some tips with you! Thanks for playing! :D

REJECT HUMANTY
ADVANCE MON-K3Y

i had a good time with this, very clever use of the theme
though i do have to admit that last level stumped me, i always had one too few lives at the top

Developer

Yeah, I had to do a ton of "Salvaging" about half way through development because the game really wasn't sizing up to my expectations, so the last level was missing some very needed playtesting and the entire game's curve really needed polishing. Thanks for playing :D

Submitted

Fun game! I wish the tutorial was a bit shorter and I feel like the way it fits the theme is just by having a limited use bounce pad but that doesn't matter because this game made me learn that using a limited use bounce pad is FUN!

Developer

Thanks! I really wish I had made the tutorial shorter, definitely. Thanks for playing! :D

Submitted

Super cute. Great work!

Developer

Thanks! :D

Submitted

Fun little game. will say the tutorial is a bit long with the voice acting, you should not lock the player into and let them skip ..er.. rather play through the explanations to start the game faster.

Developer

Yep, probably one of the most common points of feedback, and i can see where i went wrong there. Thank you! :D

A puzzle game with a narrator sign me up :D I had a good time with this one the mecanics is easy to understand and the puzzles are top notch. The only think i dont like is the sound effects espacily the jumping sound :/ Other than that i loved this game great work well done :D

Note: I would be happy if you could checkout my game as well :d

Developer

Yep, first time doing sfx away from bfxr, do you have any more detailed information as to why you didn't like them so that i can improve next time? Thanks for enjoying my game, and i generally check out the games of those who've given me feedback. Thank you! :D

Submitted (1 edit)

Generaly when a sound repeats so often you will get bored of it maybe randomizing the frequency can help that way it sounds diffrent every time :)

Developer

Alright, thanks, I'll keep that in mind for the future!

Submitted

break button cutscene should block your player movement because I accidentally skipped it by going to another level. SFX is a lil annoying mostly because of the volume but I think that SFXR would honestly be better than what you got. Also small thing not affecting your rating but the buttons are a lil too big and they also should have an outline because they dont feel like they belong in the game. The music stopped in one of the last levels that was weird. but overall its a fun experience and i like the narrator

Developer

Every jam i really dare myself to learn something new within the time span, here one of those things was SFX, so sorry if they were too loud or obtrusive. Also, the music stopping is intentional in the last level, it was designed to build tension for the final level. There's a lot I would've liked to change, so thanks for the added feedback and playing! :D

Submitted

oh yeah sorry i didn't finish the game so I didn't know but im back on pc now so i might just finish it right now

Submitted

Really cool concept and a well polished puzzle game, well done!

Developer

Thank you! :D

Submitted

Interesting concept,  definitely getting some HalfLife/Portal vibes. Good Job.

Developer

Neither of those games crossed my mind while developing, but it's cool that people are comparing it to great games like those. Thank you! :D

Submitted

Very cool game! Really like the voice acting! Great work!

Developer

Thank you! I really wasn't sure about how well the voice acting was while i was developing the game, so thank you! :D

We also did extensive narration in our game but we tried to give the player a visual cue in the form of a whitened screen to denote that he will regain control when the screen returns to normal so rest assured - here it's like "ugh get on with it let me run around, I see the level and I know what I want to do!" Other than that thought, super neat idea and could have lots of opportunities for fun trickery. FYI it seems to have frozen on me in browser when I died.

Developer(+1)

Yep, a few QoL things i would've liked, more sfx, subtitles, and a skip dialouge option, so sorry if that hurt your experience. Thanks for the feedback and playing! :D

Super chill vibes, and really fun theme! The speaker voice was a great idea, it gave the game so much character. Don't use self harm to your advantage lol. I liked the gameplay as well, had some trouble figuring out how to use the S-button, but it could just be that I'm not very smart. Great job, I enjoyed it!

Developer(+1)

The S-button collision is a little janky, it's one of the things i really had trouble with while developing. I actually didn't know if the voice was a good idea or not, but all the comments are making me see that it was. Thanks for the feedback! :D
