I finished the game, but there was no ending. When I went to the right I expected to get a cutscene, but instead, I fell off the map. I just pretended I got the ending and closed the game.

I did it right, but then I got flung to the winning checkpoint and got teleported to the start of the game.

Alright I've played the patched version today on stream and (maybe) completed it? It said you've lost though :D This time it was not that hard but still pretty rage inducing

Developer

"Somehow I feel...I'll have to go all the way up" well, let's just say you don't have to...but you can ;) Thanks for playing! It was fun watching you play our game and both to discover your game! 😄

That was really tough and fun at the same time, my pickaxe got stuck many times and when I fell the ground exploded, I think that was intentional by you. Also one cool detail I noticed was that there was a small circle cursor representing axe's position, that was really good design, it'd be good if you can make it look a bit more visible. It was a really great game, good luck for the jam :)

I've really enjoyed this torture, controls are impossible to get used to or to use at all.

Visuals are very creative, sound is nice, level design is impressive.

Thank you for sharing! <3

I really liked this game! I nice twist to the good ol' Getting Over It. I personally never played Getting Over It before, so this game was quite tuff xD. The art in this game was really good, I liked the simplicity of it; as well as the post-processing done was great. The sound design and music of this game were clever, really fitted the atmosphere. I liked the idea that was implemented, instead of going all the way done, it will be easier to climb.

I suggest, to improve this game, making the cursor clearer. It was really hard to see the cursor so I wasn't sure where I was swinging my pickaxe.

Overall this game was great, I liked it a lot!

Great Job!

I like the idea, i like the art and i like the gameplay! Awesome! Good job!

Please check my game as well ;)

P.S.

It was a little bit hard to control and sometimes I didn’t see the reticle but anyway this is a good game)

Super fun, reminds me a lot of the game Getting Over it. The visuals are so cool!

Obviously the game is inspired from getting Over It. Except that you can break the ground if you fail. Speaking of breaking the ground, i dont quite understand when that happens. Could you explain it to me?

In addition, there are sometimes problems with the controls. Sometimes the pickaxe gets stuck.

Nonetheless, i had a lot of fun playing your game, the visual looks great though.

Thanks for playing the game! You need to get height points (you can see them in the UI bar) and the more you get them the harder the ground breaks! But you also need to touch the ground itself. The game needs a bit more playtesting, for sure! :)

Nice twist, I think I'm better at it than the original :) good job!

I love the concept and the twist, but my pickaxe got stuck in one of those karts so i ended up quitting

Developer

Yep, there are a couple of trap spots that you get stuck in, sorry for that! Should've playtested the game more ☺️. But thanks for playing!

This is a very creative idea that fits great with the jam. Unfortunately, I didn't finish it because I got permanently stuck in a wall on two separate occasions. The physics really leave something to be desired.

I played for a bit, so is it like getting over it? or does it have a twist?

Developer (1 edit)

You can break the ground

cool but needs a better character, as the rest of the viusals are stunning

I had fun until i got stuck on the right part of the level near a mushroom and didn't understand how to climb back up :(. The controls are a bit weird but it's so damn hard to nail the physics on those kind of games. Good job to your team !

I'm pretty proud of my high score, which is reaching the top of the first blue block.

Hey! A fellow physics game jammer! I always love these sexy-hiking style systems though I did have a lot of trouble getting stuck in concave objects such as the minecart on the left with the branch. Getting jammed in places kinda hurts the enjoyment of playing with these kinds of control systems. Unsure if it's because of the level design geometry itself having too much deep concave spaces, the shape/size of the pick, or the range and gradation of the pick's motions but those are all aspects that may be looked at to help make it more accessible.

the pick was hard to control XD

still, i LIKED IT!!!

Developer (1 edit)

Yeah, you can get used to it tho)) Thanks for playing!

Web version worked fine for me but better in fullscreen - issues might be to do with confined cursor?

Fun game, glad to see all the tricks from Getting Over It work - the player flew out of the lift at the top and my camera got stuck. I'll assume I win anyway ^^

I accidentally deleted my own reply comment, oops! I don't know how to get it back now D: Wait, so you beat the game? I mean yeah, the camera is stuck at the elevator instead of following the player. My reply was about asking for feedback I think. Anyways, thanks for playing the game!

responds too jerkily to mouse movement to be playable.

Developer

Try the Windows version, which responds less jerkily to mouse movement according to testing.
