Level design and difficulty ramp was excellent!
I died 46 times. 46!!!! That's some Celeste level stuff.
But I think that number is a testament to how good the game is. Also, who are those insane high-score holders. I ended up with this:
The art is simple, but cohesive and pleasant and easy to read and not distracting, which is much appreciated when I'm trying to get my Ucube Bolt on.
I really enjoyed this entry. I gave it five stars for fun/design, and I don't think I've done that more than two or three times in 70 games rated. The level design is on point and I had to jump back into things immediately to try and improve my run.
A wonderful solo dev submission and a jam game I'm really glad I found. Even though the art was basic shapes and colors, I appreciate you taking the extra time to do set dressing with the flavor text along the run. Some of those lines cracked me up. The monsters were indeed looking Thicc, and I dug the red guy's name. Nice nod to the man of the hour.
Your tie to the theme and requirement is tenuous, but the game is so much dang fun ... who cares. Awesome entry. Great work.
Hi EndmarkGames, I am amazed how determined you are on completing the game! Thank you so much for playing, and I am grateful that you enjoyed it and had fun. I also appreciate your feedback, so I would keep on improve for my future games (if there's a chance lol). Once again, thank you for the kind words, btw your username and scores will be displayed on the page, at the top rank section :) Efforts counts, you know!
Very fun game, Geometry dash vibe. some polish could be really nive, especially on control. The big mistake is the camera wich is centered at normal speed and has some delay at full speed, it doesn't allow player to see what's coming, instead 50% - 75% of the screen is used to see behind you. nonetheless you did a very good job, i loved the text you spread every where
Had a great time playing! Music was good and i enjoyed the art style. Little easy for me but had a fun time playing, only thing id say is the controls felt a little heavy for me, thanks for the good time!
A very fun game to play, it reminded me alot of the mobile games I used to play (Geometry dash and such) Only thing that annoyed me was that I died since I could not jump from some stairs that went down. Also the game had many fun jokes in it like the "oops" when I fell down from there xD
Glad you enjoyed the game as much as I enjoyed making it. Yes, I got some inspiration from the mobile games (btw, Ucube can be downloaded on android) like GD, but GD is way way harder and accurate lol. And I also like the idea where players will learn the map and not just go through once and win the game. Some parts are harder, but I'm still glad you managed to play it, Cheers!
yea I got that in the start of the game where you made two paths and had to choose one in seconds, very fun and I might try it out on my phone if I feel like it (arent the biggest mobile game supporter)
Really fun game, I had a blast beating it! (Took me 520 seconds LOL)
Great music as well! Really nice work!
Woah, not bad man! Do you have a screenshot? Your username and score can be on the game's page :)
Haha, I should have taken a screenshot ;)
Nice work! You managed to keep the energy up which is not always easy to do. With some tweaks for user feedback such as sound fx for collecting coins or jumping, I think it can help it feel more interactive.
Thank you for the kind words :) Would surely add the sfx effects after the jam. Glad you enjoyed playing the game!
I really enjoyed your game! The rest of this comment might sound really negative, but don't get me wrong! I really really like the game, I'm just trying to point out what's wrong, or what could have been done better.
Firstly, Woah! Thank you for joining the fun and I am so thankful for the longest feedback I ever seen lol :) Some of them are real bugs(softlocks, enemies) which I will fix after the jam, and some I will try to learn (the cam position and auto respawn) I just got to GameDev a month or so. I really appreciate your comments, as they show what the game could have been done better and really gives me encouragement! Once more, thank you for playing :) btw your username will be shown in the speedrun/highest score rank on the page ;)
I'll have to correct myself a little bit here. I missed that you can dash by pressing space. Yeah that does turn the game into more of a speedrun game. But maybe telling the player about the feature would have been nice :P
(I mean ingame)
With this, I tried to speedrun the game a little bit (mainly just trying to get far while holding down space), but this just calls for an autorespawn lol! Hopefully you can implement that after the jam...
found an another bug. When you jump into an upside down slope, you will stick to the ceiling above, and crash into spikes. It can get very annoying on the (third?) level
Owhh, thanks for telling me. Game feedbacks are really useful :) And yea, will fix that after the jam. Thanks for follow up my Gamedev journey :)
Very addictive haha - I usually suck at speedrun platformers and they usually make me rage quit but this was a great little game! The music and words scrolling throughout the levels was a lot of fun - congrats on finishing you second gam jam project!
Woah, So glad you have fun as much as I have fun making it :) Thank you for the kind words viv lun~
Hi friend, great game ! I see you have progressed a lot since previous jam ! Your game is really fun albeit hard. I had a great time playing your game.
Here are some points I've experienced whilst playing through your jam entry
Really nice game m8 ! Cheers on your entry !
Thanks Vico :) I appreciated your feedback as always, man!
I use Soundation, an online daw, but I don't recommend it lol because it is not a good one for making game music. I use it because there'a some premade tunes, which even got me copyrighted on YouTube :( I might find a new one because I personally have strong music theory :) And yea, you could see glitched lines if you're playing on a browser, I think if you download and play it works fine :) Last I think I will remove a few bad screenshots lol thanks ;)
Thanks for the encouragement and feedback! Your game is cool too!
Thanks man !
Yes, I see, it is clear you have a strong understanding of music theory ^-^ I personally use beepbox.io (or a modded variant) to make some tunes but my results vary a lot lol. Another software people use is bosca ceoil but I haven't used it yet (btw how did the claim turn out ?)
Thanks for giving my game a try ! Are you thinking of joining another jam in the near future ?
With effort, anything can be great, especially when music is all about creativity and feel :) btw, i will join more jams after a break, so maybe not in the near future. Would love to catch up about your progress as always!
Yes, take a rest, take a break, it is good to keep it calm and not burn out ;)
I sure will catch up to your possible future projects. By my side : I will probably also slow down the pace. There are a few big projects I want to work on, doing jams let me gain experience for them. I wish you a well deserved break man !
