This was fun! Short, but I smiled the whole time. And I somehow managed to suck up enough aliens the last 5 seconds, after wasting most of my time trying to pull them across the screen. :) Nice Job.

Great simple game. loved the look of the aliens. I would recommend putting in a little spot for controls so a player knows how to move around, I figured it out right away but maybe for those that aren't huge gamers. I had my girlfriend try it too cause she really like the little alien dudes, and I didn't show her how to play or anything and she couldn't figure out how to play until I showed her. but all in all great job!
Your game has a really great concept and the narration was really cool. I had lots of fun playing it :))
Pros: Simple gameplay. Smooth 3D gameplay.
Cons: Hard to tell where aliens are. Tiny bugs
Suggestions(One for each category that would of taken it to the next star):
Levels (Collect x amount per level)
Bug fixes (or cut-scene skip)
Aliens should make noise
Aliens squish / unsquish when jumping around
Multiple trips to from moon
Hehe, nice and adorable game. Just let them eat the moon. I mean... Cheese! :P
Well, constructive feedback i guess, uhm. I think the terrain was procedurally generated? Great job on that.
As other mentioned, if they would float in the vacuum chamber that would have been awesome.
Also a way to skip the intro would have been nice. So I could go back to another observation session on how the eat the moon more quickly :P
Many people just don't care if the moon dies they just like the aliens. but does anyone else just want one as a pet?
also thanks :). I worked quite hard for it to procedural and its my first time doing that! I really appreciate it :).
ah yes, the vacuum. I really didn't like how it turned out I really wanted the proper sucking motion but I really just didn't have time do do that :(.
I honestly didn't even think about an intro skipper. It would be really easy to! thanks for the idea!
The aliens are adorable, I don’t mind if they want to eat the moon! Funny game with a unique concept. It’d be cool if the aliens got sucked towards the vacuum cleaner, I imagine it’d feel a little like luigi’s mansion. Nice work!
Thanks, I was going for that aspect of cuteness. I wouldn’t mind if they are the moon either. I did attempt to have a vacuum that actually sucks them in but I missed the first two days of the jam. And I spent most of my time auto generating terrain. I work in unity, many ideas on how to do it? Anyway thanks for taking the time to check out my game!
My approach would be to have a cone-shaped trigger attached to the vacuum (I guess it would be a mesh collider on a custom cone mesh). You could use OnTriggerEnter and OnTriggerExit to keep track of which game objects are inside the cone, and then if the button is held down all the entities inside the cone get moved towards the player.
Short game that was sandwiched with pretty charming narration/cutscene for the theme it presents.
-Favorite part was definitely the cutscenes, it gave the game more flavor and would have felt lacking without that. I did also actually like the way they start in the air, giving you that immediate 'yup I'm on the moon' as they float down with low gravity, though they could have been a bit brighter to make them more immediately visible.
-At least some sound feedback when you collected them would have been really helpful, because it was mostly just throwing my mouse around them hoping I sucked them up, even with the counter.
It lacked any kind of feedback, and with the pretty small view you had that increased that feeling.
-Also not sure if it was intentional but the amount of them to collect and time you had each time was randomized.
I'm glad that you enjoyed the narration, I didn't expect that so many people would like it :). The Brightness thing was an issue for me. the physical land was really dark and I didn't want to make artificial light on the aliens so I made markers instead. I think that it worked okay, but yes I would really have liked them to have been brighter as well. The sound feed back thing I didn't even think of until I was already uploading everything and there wasn't much time left in the jam so I had to abandon it.
and yes the random amount of aliens that you need to collect was intentional. But the timer isn't actually random. I simply take the amount of things that you need to collect and multiply it by 3 and add 20. I think that it works quite well. The only time this isn't true is the first time that you play the game when you get an extra 30 secs on top of the regular amount.
Got to love a hoover game! I liked the texture of the moon made of cheese.
If you want to check out my game to see what I mean about the vacuuming, i'd be keen for any feedback if you can spare a few mins too.
I'm not sure if the radius for the vacuum was working quite right. Sometimes it would suck them up, and other times the alien would just keep bouncing around in front of me. Also I couldn't click on the buttons to replay or go back to the menu. The story was cute, and the aliens were kind of adorable bouncing balls with eyes. I could see speed running this a few times to get a good score.
Yeah so the vacuum was something that I wish that I had had more time to work out. my recommendation is just to try to get the tip of it on the aliens and don't run through them. that should work the best. I don't know why you couldn't click on the buttons, I haven't gotten another complaint about that and everything seems to be working fine on my end. I'm glad that you liked the story and the aliens that's kinda what I was going for.
jajaj i liked the implementation of the jam the thing its that at the beggining wa quite hard to me to find them but after one play it was really fun
Very uh intersting game. Reminds me of Wild Animal Racing (in a good way). And I always love bouncy aliens so hey :D
The voice over at the start had me in stitches!
Good effort indeed!
