Firstly, I want to highlight the relaxing nature of the game. The theme was well-met, and I appreciated the effort put into creating the environment.

However, I did encounter some problems with the UI. Occasionally, the UI elements blocked the view of fading spirits, making it a bit challenging. Adjusting the transparency of the UI elements or not spawn them under the UI would greatly improve the overall visibility.

On a positive note, excellent use of assets. The game's visuals and audio were well-crafted.

In conclusion, this game offers a genuinely relaxing and enjoyable experience. While there are some UI issues that hindered the visibility of fading spirits, the excellent use of assets contributed to the game's overall appeal. Keep up the great work!

Hello there!

Overall, it had a fantastic take on the theme. However, I have one criticism to offer: the collider of some obstacles was off, causing me to bump into invisible walls. Also, there was nothing stopping me from leaving the 'play' area, just like in my entry.

Hello there! Thank you for playing MailSnail and sharing your feedback. I am glad to hear that you find the concept of the game interesting.

Please note that the movement controls in the current version of the prototype were more of a quick approach and were not the main focus. However, I understand that the clunky movement may detract from the overall experience.

Regarding the map structure, I intentionally designed it as a tree structure rather than a traditional 2D grid to make the memory exploration aspect of the game more challenging and engaging. However, i do understand that it may not be everyone's cup of tea.

Thanks again for playing MailSnail and for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Hey, wow. Sorry. I did not check itch for a long time.

Thank you for your feedback.

That connection feature was not fully implemented. Buildings should be disabled when not connected but i left it as it is. This added the possibility to create some kind of micro outpost, hehe.

Thank you for playing, i really appreciate that

Nice idea for a small multiplayer game.
I don't have anyone to test at the moment but will in a few days and/or on the Zacks stream.

However. Good work so far :)

I really liked your game. The colors went well together and the music was great. I sometimes had the problem that I couldn't move after parrying. Overall, however, this was very rare.

Otherwise, all in all, a great game/base mechanic you can easily expand on :)

Keep it up

I think it was the second boss (the floating one). I defeated him and went on for the next sections. After the cave (if i remember correctly) i died to some monsters and went all the way back to the exit of that boss. I did not had to fight him though.

Very good work!
I really enjoyed exploring the world and defeating the bosses. Collecting the different disks encouraged exploration and the level was well structured.

I only had problems with the respawn from time to time (maybe intentional) so that I was reset to the last boss if I died on the way to the next one.

But all in all a great entry!

Very nice interpretation of the topic. I really liked the controls. It was spot on and you could always blame yourself for mistakes. The only thing I wished for was Coyote Time.

Graphically it's done very well. The graphics palette was chosen wisely and suited the overall environment. In my opinion, the arrows on the cards and the damage information were much too small. Maybe you could have used different layouts.

Oh, and an issue which I found... Sometimes I'd respawn at a position where I'd die right away...
Kind of a death loop

All in all a nice entry!

A very nice platformer with very well fitting music! The pitch change when jumping/colliding was really awesome.

One thing I'm sure you could easily add would be some sort of highlight of the obstacles. Sometimes these are a bit too blended into the background.

However, the general look of the game was appropriate and went well together.

Nicely done!

Very interesting concept. I really liked the general look and the game idea was good. I'm really interested in what the further story of 'Kardeshev' looks like.

For the controls, I would have liked a kind of 'stabilization' function that automatically dampens the movement.

Are there more than 2 levels? After the second one I couldn't go any further and I got stuck in the 'cargo lift' :D

Oh, and the music could have been a bit darker x)

All in all a great game.

It was really a nice and relaxing experience. I liked the graphics.

Perhaps sand could have been placed at the transitions to water, but everything went well together.

Unfortunately, there was a problem that 'softlocked' my run twice. The wombat got stuck in the upper left corner and locked me in.

All in all a great Game =)

That was really a nice game. I really liked the music, but also the visuals. There are also 3 levels of difficulty. That was really great.

From time to time I had some problems with the camera. My mouse pointer was at the edge of the screen and I couldn't rotate the camera any further. And that you did all this with your smartphone is really very impressive.

Good work!

Hey MurphysDad,

Thank You for playing Continues again.

I am glad that you liked the new features.
In fact, i tried to implement some kind of outline shader but everything i did looked so wrong.
But you are right, i have to highlight at lest the edges a little bit more.

For the red flashing screen,
I had two apporaches here.. First is the current state where your screen gets red the closer you are to danger.
The second was the flashing when you actually took damage. But i decided to only shake the screen and keep it as it is right now :)

Also, I am still missing some sound effects etc. But i might come to that later this year.

Sadly, *Spoiler* i may have to skip the current jam (march) as I have no clue for a good interpretation for the theme and I have little spare time to work on something to big (Level Editor or something).

But, I will continue on 'Continues' the next month for sure :)

Again,
Thank You for playing!

Hey there, awesome Prototype!
Maybe try this one :)
F7Q2P

Hey,

Thank you for playing and giving such a detailed feedback. Nice to hear that you liked it.

I am sorry to hear that you had trouble/issues with the canera. I may tweak the settings a little for the next release or at least give a slider to change it manually.

Regarding the 'freak out' camera: Did you play the web version? Or the Standalone? Never had such an issue in my hours of testing :) even with capped fps.

Oh and *spoiler*, there are more levels in the making for the upcoming jam 😁

I liked the idea! Driving into things and make them explode felt really good.

I first thought it was an online leaderboard but it is local only, or is it?

The Controls are good and the sounds were nice.

Would be cool if the last name entered for the leaderboard would stay until changed. Also make the submit of score optional.

Thank you for your feedback.

I might add the Dev Scores ad some more sounds effects in the future :)
I am glad you liked it.

Thank you for your feedback!

It might be to silent but there is some kind of ambient sounds :)

It feels good that you like the style. I appreciate this

Thank you for the Feedback!

I did not know you can get stuck there :D Good point!

Yes, online Leaderboard would have been nice. Maybe i will add it in future iterations because as you quote:

Yes I plan on continue this project for the whole year. It might depend on the themes that will come but at least i will try and at least add new levels.

Thank you for your feedback.

Yes, a tutorial would have been helpful. The throwing across the rooms works to a certain degree :)
At some point there are so many that this strategy does no longer work.

Yea, the pick-up flag is set but not unset if there was nothing to pick up. I left it as feature but i feel like i should have removed it :)

I liked your game. The mechanics were well thought out and were well used for the overall level design. The little platforming was nice and challanging. Controlls felt smooth and on point.

One thing i did not figure out was how to 'summon' the platform. I got the blue and the red crystal but nothing happend.

All in all great work :)

Thank You. Really kind words. Good to hear that you liked it.

Yes, the mouse sensitivity was way to high. I somehow struggle to set this right.

Thank you.

Woops, yes. I totally forgot to lock the mouse, lol.

For the first attempts 1600 is a good score :) i was aware of the mouse behavior. It stores the lmb and rmb button press until it is used. In the end i decided to keep it as feature. Maybe not the best choice :)

Yes, the spot right next to the "kitchen" counter and some times the table next to the fire can get auto served, hehe

A great idea really good implemented. Calming and relaxing with the freedom to generate 'something'. The share mechanic is really a great addition.

Maybe some interactables would have been nice. Simple NPCs for a snowballfight, haha :)

All in all, Good Job!

Thank you for your feedback.

I am not sure how to best set the sensitivity. :D Tried the loswest dpi for my mouse and it felt okay.

To serve the item they want.. just throw it at them :) The item the want is hinted above theire had as soon as they reach a table.

Yea, sound effect would have been the next thing on the list. Sadly i had to less spare time for this jam due to my job...

Great Game :D Reminded me of Space Invaders. The Gameplay was simple yet fun enough to play through a few attempts :)

The Art could have been improved but from a functional aspect everytrhing worked as expected. One thing that would have spiced it up a bit would have been a little bit more randomness for the path the clouds take :)

All in all great Entry

First of all a solid game. I liked the visuals alot and there seems to be a great story.
Another good point were the moving platforms. You do not slip off instead you travel with them.
Good Job!

Sadly I had alot trouble with the controls. Alot of jumps where not registered (Which may be the result of the gaps between the tiles.) A box shaped collider would have fittet better i guess.

But all in all good entry!

Great game so far. I guess the missing features would have added a bit of variaty. But as of right now. It is still a nice little trading game :)

The art and sound were good. One thing iw oudl have loved to see were another way of naviagting to other cities. I mean, the Buttons were nice and functional but most of the cities were not in vision when i was able to travel to them. And is i am bad in remembering names :D

Good job.

Fun little yet short game. Sadly there was just that one level. I guess you could have done alot with the concept of rising waters. As others pointed out, a short animation would have been nice to 'end' the run. Maybe even a 'wait for input' reset.

The music was a bit loud but the controlls were good and on point.
Would love to see more of that :)

Good job!

Really a great game with great potential. The Art/Sound and Exposions were awesome! I really enjoyed it to just watch these explosions :D

In Addition to that, it was great that there was an endless mode cause the main level ended really quickly. Nonetheless it was fun! Some little and quick tweaks to add would have been a way to exit the current run and a way to enter 'Endles Mode' directly (maybe unlocked after beating the first level).

Also, as there were no Ammunition, it would have been prefered to click n hold to shoot instead of spam clicking.

Well Done! :)

The game is simple yet nice...
I do not know how much time i have spent already xD

The art and sounds were simple but somewhat matching and it was really thrilling to get that highscore! For some constructive feedback,
i would have added some particle effects of sort. That would have added a little bit to the overall feel.

But all in all,

Good job :)

Hello MurphysDad and Thank You for your Feedback.

Making it mobile would be a totally new Experience but surely an interesting one.

I guess the (somewhat bad and) confusing narrative comes back to my mediocre english, hehe. Additionally, the story is not fully wrote down so.. yea. My bad :-) but i wanted more than a plain tutorial so the 'supervisor' role came in handy.

Good point for the LMB to continue.. should be easy to implement. And for the level selection,

That should be accessible through the title screen (press esc in any level) :-)

Thank You flamewolf14. I really appreciate your Feedback.

I was initially thinking to leave the narrative and just throw in some simple tutorial. But then i had some time left so i wanted to put in some more mystic ;-)

So i reorganized the levels and added the little story.  I guess my lacking english just did not told it well.

For the progress... yes that is true. That is something i did not think about. Good point, thank you :-)

If you wish to play/continue. You may press T on the title Screen in order to unlock all levels ;-)

First of all thank you nyctus1 for your feedback. Good to hear that you liked the game.

For the dialogs, you could have pressed esc. I know it is nowhere told (only enter to continue) so i let you know this way :-)

As I have read from other comments, Scope Creep was your friend too? :D
I liked the concept and the idea. The Gameplay was smooth and the controlls felt on point. A little more guideance regaring objectives and that there are weapons to unlock would have been nice. Maybe it would have helped to show the progress in and every so slightly filling garbage 'Symbol' or something like that.
But it was so enjoying to shot that darn robots :D

Great Job

A very clever take on the theme! I really enjoyed it.
Everything felt well polished and the tutorial was a nice addition, too! I would have loved to see some more levels but even what you have here is some really great work.

One thing that would have improved the gameplay would have been platforms which are passable from below. I guess my piggy has some huge bumps on the head right now :D

Good job!

In a nutshell, very nice effects and a great gaming experience. The graphics were nice and appropriate. The only thing that gave me problems was getting stuck on furniture. But other than that, nothing more to add :) Good job

In my opinion, a successful contribution. I mean to remember that you wrote (Discord), that you learned a lot and that matters a lot. A few small changes such as a few particle effects and a few changes to the movement controller (it was possible to walk outside the play area) would be recommended. All in all good job
