Nice difficulty curve :)
I have to ask: is this a reference to the pong game in the end of the trailer for else Heart.Break()? http://elseheartbreak.com/ (because that game was also created by the creator of Carp IIRC)
No, but OMG, I did found out about that game thanks to Carp, but I didn't realize this Pong game at the end of the trailer, it's exactly the same haha.
The reason I made that pong game was the time limit (I was late to the jam and alongside making the game I also needed to make the bindings), however I was thinking about the DVD-idle-screen at the time and this gave me the idea of making it single-player by reflecting the ball at the ceiling.
Nice concept and nicely polished! Carp's been on my radar for a while, so it's neat to see someone make a game with it. Also, I like the font on the page!
Interesting to see a game made with Carp! Take breakout, remove the bricks, and you have single player pong. The difficulty ramps up quick! I only got 16 points.
Cool! Interesting stack too. I've been holding off on Carp only because of the disclaimer on the GH page (about it being a research project). So, it's nice to see it being used successfully in a real project!
Well, this game it's kinda a research project in the end :P
But the only problem that almost was a blocker for me it's the limitation of importing C fixed arrays (I couldn't, fortunately I could workaround this), otherwise, the language worked fine.
Surprisingly fun! I capped out at 18. I’ve got to check out Carp.
It was my first time with it, their memory management document fascinates me, I hope we see more updates and project on Carp in the future
This taught me a valuable life lesson that I'd always known dimly but that was brightly illuminated in the light of your game: I am my own worst enemy.
In the end, this game end up being about an endless battle with ourselves :P
Got to 20 :)
Nice! I only got 16 when I played it at first xD
The game engine behind the game is very impressive!
Thanks!
Definitely gets a lot harder as it speeds up. I scored 16 points. :)
Reminds me heavily of the dedicated Pong consoles. :)
True! xD
Cool to see something written in Carp. The game session being a few seconds is funny, but true.
Thanks! Yeah Carp it's pretty interesting
