Very creepy, great atmosphere giving me those blaire witch vibes. Sound design was also very effective. Even though it wasn't too clear what I was supposed to do.

Thanks so much for your feedback!

The goal is to find the orbs that open the exit doors. Don’t worry, as far as we know, only one person (a streamer, see the link below) has been able to get out, so we’re working on that right now.

The graphics are very well presented. The sound design is fairly well done but the jumpscare and tensions musics quickly overstay their welcome and become less effective over time, or maybe its because spiders typically aren't that scary to me ^_^ I didn't understand my goal either and found myself feeling directionless, and it seemed somewhat impossible to find all of the orbs without dying. The level design is neat but I felt like I wasn't guided at all, and that there weren't enough significant landmarks throughout the level to really keep track of where I was. If you're going for the 'you found a video tape' vibes, it might be worth exploring some different display options (REC. hud, soft NV filter, etc) because it didn't give me those vibes at all outside of the grainy overlay. All together this is pretty dang cool and managed to spook me a bit, but quickly lots its spooky factor with repeated endeavors. Nice work!

Developer

We’re working on improving the game’s level design in order to guide the player in a pleasant way. We’re taking note of the repetition and will adjust it in the next update.

Thank you very much for playing and for your comprehensive feedback!

Scary game. Going into to the forest is not an option lol. I'm not sure how to avoid the monster even when crouched. The shaders and stuff I think is the best.

Developer

Yes, going deeper into the forest brings us back to this strange cabin… ;)

The monster is currently difficult to avoid when he’s chasing you, so we’ll be adjusting it for the next update!

Thank a lot for playing and your feedback !

The vhs effect and graphics are incredible. Very atmospheric! Well done :)

Developer

Thanks a lot!

Submitted(+2)

the sound design is really good, it's always unnerving hearing what's chasing you even when you cant see it. the camera was a little finnicky for me, but it wasn't a dealbreaker. i like the spider monsters a lot! are they based off of ogre spiders?

Developer

Thank you very much for your feedback! It’s a wolf spider, I went to see what an ogre spider was and I think it would have done the job very well too.

I didn't undestood at all the objective of the game, I think it would need a facelift in terms of design. Anyway the aesthetics and the jumpscares sound timing are good enough to project fear in people. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for your feedback. We’re currently iterating on the level design for a post-jam update, which I hope will make the game more enjoyable!

The game has scared me, however I have to say that I have not fully understood the objective or the function of the points I find. I found it a bit difficult, they killed me all the time. However, I found the aesthetics and vibe of the game to be very suitable for being scary. Super cool!

Developer

Thank you for playing and for your feedback! We’re sorry you had trouble progressing through the game due to our game design. An update should improve the overall experience after the jam!

Submitted(+1)

That was scary ! don’t play this at night in a dark room (I did), now I am hearing spiders in my house (I know there are some !) I had the same idea with the only flashlight as light source, it so stressful especially when it flicks. I just had an issue with the some spider getting in the way so I know I am about to loose 😅 I would appreciate some jumpscares rather than just fleeing encountered monsters. It is hard to know what to do expect avoiding creatures. Still a nice game !

Developer(+1)

Spiders can sandwich the player in the current level design (and it’s very frustrating I agree), it will be updated after the jam. I’m glad to see that our code allowing spiders to leave the game to invade the player’s home in real life is working well! (Watch out for dark places …) 😋

Submitted(+2)

This is probably the one that scared my the most so far! EEEEEEK. I still feel like spiders are crawling all over me! One of the best unreal optimisation of level design I saw in the jam, it was working beautifully.

Developer

Thank you for helping to feed the spiders! Did you manage to finish the game? What did you like about the current level design?

Submitted(+1)

In term of optimisation I liked that despite the scale of the environment it was keeping a high FPS and never lagging. In term of design I like the fact that the scene spreaded to multiple vertical level and there were lot's of "secret" passages, places were to crawl, things to collect. No I didn't manage to finish Slender mens always get to me, soon or later.

Developer

Thanks for your comment! We’re going to preserve the strong points and modify the weak ones to make the game more pleasant to finish and therefore less frustrating to play.

We’re glad to see that you didn’t have any lag problems, but we’ve had some feedback about frame rates, so we’re working on that too.

We think the experience will be better if you come back to test after the update.

I love found footage horror, so this really appealed to me off the bat, and I wasn't disappointed! I got spooked for sure - the filter and lighting make for a very unsettling game.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for playing, I’m glad to see the game did its job well!

Submitted(+2)

This is like a total popcorn-throwing horror movie but as a game haha. Straight to the point, I just go in and run away from monsters. It was kinda spooky when being chased but I really do think a proper jumpscare would do those lads justice.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and for your feedback! You’re right, being hunted isn’t enough, and we may have an idea for a post-jam improvement on this point… :-p

Submitted(+2)

Oh hell, my heart isn't ready for this. Thank you for raising my heart rate friend. Loved the horror of this game.

Developer

Thank for playing! Have you seen the orbs? We are aware that it is difficult to complete the game, we need to improve it on this point. And sorry for your heart!

Submitted(+1)

First of all, the graphical quality and the camera filter is on point. Because I have arachnaphobia I couldn't finish the game. I didn't even have the intelligence to search around for an exit my friend. But this means that you managed to nail that horror aspect of the game. I myself is not a brave player, normally I can't play horror games, but I develop them because I don't need to play them :D

Like I said, that horror element is on point and the sound design is perfect. I encourage you to improve this game friend, I'll look forward to it. I won't be able to play it myself but I have a friend can play these type of games and finishes them, I'll watch him play for sure :D

Developer

If your friend can play for you, we’d love to hear from you again after the update. The feedbacks are a great way to keep improving. Thanks again for playing, especially knowing that you have arachnophobia!

Absolutely love the style, and this scared the hell out of me. Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much !

Submitted(+2)

Really liked the sound design and the "grainy footage" filter, it made for a great horror experience that made me hesitate to press forward. Great job capturing that vibe and jump scaring me!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot. Glad you liked it😁

Running, screaming, spider fitness with great soundtrack and great use of limited visibility.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for playing our game! Happy that the game dit the effect we wanted!

Submitted(+2)

It is very very laggy to play, almost slideshow-esk, The atmosphere was great tho, loved the vibes.

Developer

Happy you liked the atmosphere. Sorry for the laggy, could you tell us which computer have you used?

Submitted

A 1660 Super

Developer

After the jam, we are going to do an update, I hope it will improve performance.

God i hate spiders xD

That said, it gives me a lot of those good old scp vibes and I especially liked that start sequence paired with the vhs filter.

Gameplay wise I liked the possibilty of avoiding the enemies by dodging in and out of the tunnels even if i was never quiet sure if they'd follow me inside.

Developer

Thank you for playing our game, we are happy you have enjoyed !

Submitted(+2)

Really nice environment and effects. had a lag here and there but nothing major on my end. Overall, really good.

Developer

Thanks a lot^^

Submitted(+2)

Idk what in this game make my laptop show 5 fps, that's not the 1st game with vhs effect that is lagging so i suppose it's enginge? Anyway the atmosphere very spooky and I pooped myself on the spider

Developer

Really sorry for the low fps rate (and the poop)… We will investigate this! Thanks for playing!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your notice. I don't know for your fps issue. I guess UE5 is a little heavy, plus we sure could optimise better with some more dev :)

Submitted(+2)

I really like the dark atmosphere pretty much similar to my game ! Loved the overall work by the Dev! Cheers

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it, and I confirm the darkness similarity with your game! :p
