  • The game is a well-designed top-down survival shooter and I liked the breadth of mechanics, including a map, multiple objectives, ammo and health and torch lighting. It looks like you have really progressed your skills in making complex games in Construct!

This game immediately reminded me of the SAS zombie assault games which I played all the time and it was a lot of fun to play!

Thanks :)

Atmosphere, sounds and above all the gameplay loop are tight!

This gives me Darkwood vibes all around which is a big + !

Developer

Thank you :)

Great sounds & definitely on point with the atmosphere, I felt creeped out from the start!

Like the idea of hiding walls on which you do not watch!
Some enemies stuck in walls =(

Developer

Thanks! Enemy ai needs optimization

Great sound and idea, I like the aesthetics and the feeling of fear. The only thing (maybe it's only me with such a problem) I would like the enemies to approach us, I have them stuck in the corners behind which they were hiding. In any case, great job, I enjoyed it!

Developer

Thanks :)

From the initial launch screen to the menu, when paused, it was immaculate. I thought the movement was highly smooth and, like the description said, a pretty straightforward end goal. It was an enjoyable experience, and you did a great job. This is a prime example of gameplay that doesn't have to have a "AAA" look as long as it has a professional feel. There was an instance where I was trying to obtain a relic in a tight area on entry. The character got somewhat stuck on the walls, but that is it. The time given in the Jam to the product you released was excellent.

Thanks for the feedback! Every bit of these are valuable :)

The map and red markers are great for finding your way around. I liked the music, which may be a little repetitive over time, but the rhythm is well chosen! The zombies didn’t give me too many problems, except in closed areas, like the little house with a small entrance. It was a good area to get trapped by them! I enjoyed looking for all the items on the map - it’s my little collector side.

Congratulations! And thanks for the feedback :)

Pretty fun, decently executed concept for the timeframe of the jam. I enjoyed the sprites, the animations, and the treasure hunting. A run button would be welcome as it did feel painfully slow at times. The popping in/out of enemies works well for the scares but it didn't feel right for the walls, especially when they were all visible on the map. I quite enjoyed the different player sfx you had for the health/ammo/treasure pickups. All together, nice work! Feels very atmospheric and nostalgic, without feeling like a ripoff of something I played before.

Developer

Thanks for your detailed feedback, much appreciated :)

A simple shooter. It was not too scary, but the music you chose and the sound fx made it feel quite full. The pace of it was a bit slow and even then I worked out quite quickly I could outwalk the zombies. The light was cool. I had fun

Developer

Thanks for the feedback :) I think you are right about the zombie speed

I liked the game. Simple but cool. The choice of graphics is a bit risky but I liked it.  I have to say that it wasn't too scary, I expected it to be more gloomy when I saw the title. Still, I've had a good time playing :))

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for your nice comments! I had to tone down the darkness level because of the limitations of the Construct 3 engine. If I had gone a darker tone sprites become totally black, leading to zero visibility.

Nice! I really like the whole thing with the flashlight and only being able to see the zombies and walls in the light. A good game overall.

Developer

Thanks :)

Fun game! The flashlight mechanics made things more tense

The limited view as well as the type of controls add a subtle helplessness reminding me of silent hill, resident evil and deadly premonition. which I think adds to any zombie game

Developer

First 2 of the games were in my mind when designing the game! Thanks :)

Love this game, the flashlight only light source makes the atmosphere stands out!

Great concept, great graphics, and a fun game.

Nice aesthetics! I also like that you don't have infinite ammo, you really need to think about your next step. Great job

Developer

Thank you!

The sounds and music are cool, really gives an oppressing vibe to your game!
A bit more variation in the environment would have been nice, but it is already enough to feel immersed in your game.

Good job :D

Thanks for the feedback :)
