Very cool, I really hope you keep updating and working on it in the future.
Good job on the sprites and the sounds. Personally I feel like a pacing boost would be great.
I personally found the game in terms of mechanics and gameplay to be a little messy. When the difficulty is not high, the game just feels rather slow (and when the difficulty was high, I could barely even stop the ships and ended up losing).
The RNG aspects of the game were also not very organized. The things they changes (apart from the speed boost) felt like aspects that should come naturally as the game progresses.
Also, you should be really careful with how you use RNG to hinder the player. Using it to add difficult elements is fine, since it's still possible for the player to get better and move past them. But taking away 25 points for simply getting the number 4? That's too harsh and just frustrating - There is nothing the player can do about it.
Overall it's pretty ok, but there are definitely things you can improve
cool game would love have it faster by default, then you can adjust the dice effects from there, also allow keyboard inputs for the dice menu
Liked the game idea and the sprites are really cool, maybe wanna change color or position of the boss health bar, game speed can be faster but like the way you use the dice, great job!
Man, I think the game speed is a bit too slow. I like this genre, but I don’t feel the dice mechanic fit very well — it seemed to slow the game down even more, interrupting the action. These games usually stand out for being frantic, with projectiles flying everywhere.
I did enjoy the music, although the shooting sound got a little irritating — with a sound that repeats so much, I’d prefer something softer.
I think the scoring idea works really well with the theme, it really reminded me of old arcade cabinet games.
Either way, great job delivering a game in just 72 hours! Feel free to check out and rate our game too!
Hey :D Great effort, I really like the dice mechanic, which has a load of potential for a game like this. I think you definitely need to speed everything up. The lasers I think should be a lot quicker, and same for the enemies - just ramp up that a bit and it will be a fun little shooter with a nice new mechanic.
One thing i think you need to address - make the scoring go in much higher increments. Only getting 1 point, for example, is kind of deflating. Maybe make a minimum score for a small ship like 50, and then pile on a 100 or 150 for different types, then a juicy bonus for the bosses. That way, when the high scores are achieved it feels much better to have 9000 points than 90, for example :D Just my opinion, but hopefully it helps haha
Nice work ;)
Nice work.
Unfortunately the game froze not long after the first dice roll. I am using Chrome browser.
Music was still playing. I took a screen shot. I hope it helps!

I found it a bit difficult to figure out where I was shooting, overall though nice game!
I liked that the game doesn’t let you shoot endlessly, so you have to think about where and when to fire a projectile. The randomness created interesting situations, and a couple of times it even made me a bit nervous.
As for the downsides, I’d highlight the following:
Scoring isn’t very engaging, and because of the unpredictability of bonuses, it feels like achieving a high score can be quite difficult (although for some players this might actually be a plus).
Also, the shooting sound is very irritating in cases where you need to fire a huge number of shots, like when destroying a large ship. I’d prefer if the sound varied or at least had randomized pitch.
It's Galaga with procedurally generated scripted events. You go into a menu whenever one of these events occurs, and it rolls a dice (just so you know we're on theme!).
In most games, they wouldn't interrupt the gameplay to do the procedural events. They would just run the calculation in the background, and then you would get whatever event you get, which is the better design choice. However, in an attempt to superficially fit in with the theme, this game exposes the procedural event generation as a "feature," and the gameplay experience is interrupted.
If you're going to do procedurally scripted events, just take out the dice rolling screen altogether. It doesn't add anything.
The name "Endless Space" is probably a trademark owned by Sega, the company that owns the Endless Legend franchise, which has a 4x title called "Endless Space." I'm no lawyer, but this might be trademark infringement.
The guns shoot too slowly and the action is generally too slowly paced for a Galaga-like. Galaga is fun because you move quickly and shoot quickly. Compared to Galaga, this feels like molasses.
Thanks for trying my game,
This is a nice simple arcade but might I suggest the speed of the lasers be increased and made brighter or flashier, for some reason I get the impressoin of more like an archer firing arrows instead of a ship firing lasers
