How does your game bring our theme, The Error is the Feature, to life?
The game leans into the chaos by leveraging the 'error' of UI viewport layer. Normally UI and in game objects are kept separate and handled by the camera/world separately. In this case, I'm putting them into the same playable world and using the UI to the player's advantage to achieve their goals.
This error goes back to when I first started game development and learned about the different layers in the viewport. For this game jam, I thought why not lean into that!

Great concept!
The main mechanics is really creative, and well implemented. I didn't encounter bugs in my playthrough. I do like the fact that you have levels that slowly introduced more mechanics for the player throughout the game. However, I did find the puzzles a bit too easy overall.
The music is fun, but I would have liked to see sound effects for sure. The visuals are ok, but personally I don't like the mismatched pixel density.
Overall a fun entry to play. Good job!
Thanks so much for playing and providing the great feedback! I started out a bit easier with the game design more so to showcase its potential but definitely will see how to make it more challenging and engaging. I will also go back to update its visuals and add more sound effects as during the game jam I was focused primarily on the game mechanics. So in future game jams I'll likely try to keep a balance between the two. Appreciate your time writing a review!
Genius word play. Absolutely loved it.
thank you! It was the only right name for the game :D
I loved the concept! The level design is excellent, and the fire and chain mechanics were nice additions.
Great work!
thank you! Glad you enjoyed the level design as I spent more time on those and found new mechanics to integrate to the game in the extra time I had :)
It was really cool once I figured out how it works, I had so much fun with it, it has a lot of potential, keep working on it! You did a great job implementing the theme, congratulations!
thanks so much! glad you enjoyed the game!
thanks so much for your kind words! I was mostly focused on the core mechanics of the game and mostly relied on free assets to create basic visuals for the game so post jam will definitely look to improve the visuals and give a very cohesive feeling. I'm glad you liked the puzzle design and mechanics as that was what I focused most of my time on. I love the idea of flames vfx for the inventory hitting the fire. Appreciate the feedback and glad you enjoyed the game!
This game is brilliant. It started off a bit slow, but when I started to get deeper, I really started to see the potential this game has. Unfortunately my run was cut short by being smushed into the mesh. But hey, maybe thats the error (hehe)! I was unsure if I could find a way out, or if there was a reset/restart level button somewhere. Overall, I loved this submission. Excellent job!
Edit:
Another small suggestion for a QOL improvement. Maybe add a small amount of transparency to the inventory panel while dragging it.
thanks so much! And for highly recommending the game to your teammate as well! It's unfortunate you ran into the actual bug so close to the end of the game! Theres definitely improvement to fixing the collisions/ adding reset button/ and other fixes. Definitely will look into the QOL improvements you suggested regarding transparency, its the same feedback quinten gave as well! Glad you enjoyed the game!
Played live on stream in Jamlytics! Hope the feedback was helpful <3
Immensely helpful from the front page all the way to the fine details of the game. As a new game developer I learned a lot about the entire package of a game presentation. Appreciate you taking the time playing it on stream and providing feedback!
Great concept with UI manipulation. Playing with both wasd platformer control and mouse movement is an interesting experiment. I can tell the levels are well thought but I believe due to oversight, most levels can be completed with just one barrel (by dragging the inventory UI while jumping). But other than that the game is fun and it fits the theme really well. I had a good time.
Thanks for the detailed feedback! Yes I am now discovering that I may want to prevent that hack since it defeats the purpose for some of the levels I'll be sure to review it so players can focus on the puzzle aspects. Glad you enjoyed playing the game!
Really cool concept, and great use of UI to show what to do!
I could not figure out how to use the boxes, a bit of UI for the first level would have been really helpful but otherwise the art and the concept is sooo goood! Perfect theme execution 10/10
Thanks for playing! Yes I think I can add a bit more tutorials in the beginning. I wanted to have a balance of discovery and letting the player know what to do. But may have skewed tok much towards the former. Glad you enjoyed playing the game!
I really love playing the Game, the art is beautiful ! And love the puzzle, it was the first puzzle game I try in this game jab and I think is an excellent idea ! Good Job !
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed the game! I can't tale full credit for the art since most of it was using free assets which was credited in the game page. I did create the character though! Post jam I may go back and focus more on the visuals since I was mostly working on the core mechanics. Glad you found the puzzles fun!
It took me a bit to realize what you did here but when I figured it out I loved the unique mechanic you implemented. I really don't have much to critique here. you could go anywhere from here really :D
Thanks so much! Really glad you found out how to interact and play with it. I was shooting for innovation in this jam so post jam I may go back and improve the visuals and add even more features I have in mind!
Great game
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the game
Cool game, i try to use one barrel hack and got trapped in the wall because that iron chain pushed me. You should add restart level button so people like me doesn't need to start over from beginning. Like I did in my puzzle platformer game, the restart button is one of the most important feature. It does not have beautiful visual or engaging audio (like your game do), but people says it has good level design, you should check it out!
Thanks so much for the feedback! Yes I'm now realizing the issue with collisions and pushing the character through the terrain. Unfortunately not the bug feature of the jam 😅 will definitely think about adding a reset feature. I'll be sure to check out your game!
What a great concept! I love the interaction with the UI.
Also, great game name :)
One design flow i noticed that it's possible to climb to any hight with just one barrel, if you coordinate it right. I think this can be fixed with disabling UI contros while player is in the air, idk. But i am not sure if this needs to be fixed :)
It's like you're in my mind xD I discovered that mechanic near the end of my testing as well and thought the exact same thing. Either I can disable the interaction when the character is in the air or double down on it and make it a mechanic later in the game that the player discovers and can use it to speed run the beginning. You're a true gamer!
Appreciate the feedback and your time playing the game!
And the game name was the only choice for this haha: you & I, user and inventory, UI. It makes perfect sense whichever way you put it :D
wow, this is a lot of fun and I really, really enjoyed this. Also, I have not seen anyone making use of the UI like this, so that is cool and creative
Only minor concerns I had is that the camera feels a bit too far zoomed out and the sprites to small (but, I guess you needed to find a good balance with the character size and the UI) and that sometimes, moving the UI around with your mouse, moving things in the UI and then moving your character with arrow keys feels a bit clunky.
But besides that, great game. amazing job!
Thanks so much for your feedback and glad you enjoyed the game! I also felt the sprites were a bit smaller so it loses out on some of the details. I worked with some free assets so kept it at that level with a fixed viewport for speed of development. I'll definitely play around with different camera sizes and UI dynamics to make it more engaging! Also appreciate the feedback on the clunkiness, I'm sure there are more ways to improve and make the interactions more seamless that I'll look into.
It took me a while to understand how inventory worked! After getting it, the game felt fun!
yeah I tried to give some instruction without making it overly obvious so that there is some discovery involved to let the player break the normal barriers. Glad you discovered it and had fun!
Really clever game design here. Well done mate!
thanks so much! appreciate your time playing my game!
