You did a great job on this game. It's simple to pick up and play, yet engaging with its unique control scheme, and the variety of enemy and level types keeps things interesting as you progress. I like how the bosses test the skills you learned in the levels, like the second boss making you move through the gaps in its attacks, just like how the walls made you move prior. There's no real criticism I have to make; the closest thing to it would be that the bosses take a long time to kill without a shot speed powerup, but that gives you more time to choke and make mistakes when fighting them, so it works.

I got a score of 1170 points on my second try, after I had figured out the game's mechanics and controls.

thank you so much man! I'm glad you liked It!!

Out of the other games I played this jam so far, I would say this one is the one that feels the most like a Nokia 3310 game to me. There are other more polished games and amazing art, but this has an unique Nokia feel to me. Like, I can imagine playing this while waiting for a bus or in a line.

What I'm trying to say is that it's very fun and enjoyable. I wish I had your idea hahaha

The boss fight was a highlight for me. Maybe a bit too long, but it was cool. Good luck man! Hope you get very nice ratings.

very very addicting! I can imagine actually playing this on a nokia all the time and being addicted to it. Just like snake. I also really like the cover art. Fantastic work man!

Developer

Thank you for you words and for playing my game man! Thanks a lot

Great game. Can't say I was very good at it, but had a lot of fun. Clearly lots of polish on this one

high quality game, i liked the simplicity of the controls despite the game being actually difficult to master, perfect for an actual nokia game

This is a pretty cool game. I like the particle effects. The first boss has too much health and I wish they had a bit of variety in their attack but overall not bad. Good job!

Incredible game! It felt like everything was well measured and balanced. Even the tightest of timings felt doable, and there were lots of good design choices like making the platforms not have a hitbox while they spawn. Also lots of enemy and gameplay variety. Definitely a tough game, but still a fair one. Good job!

Developer

thank you so much man! I really appreciate what you said! And thanks for playing!

Really nice. I love that you can just jump in and get the game immediately, like all the great old school arcade games. The minimalist art really fits well with the palette choice too. Great work all round!

Love the aesthetics, the bosses were really cool. A little too difficult for me to beat playing casually, but ordinarily I do like a good challenge. Great work!

thank you man!

I Like the dark art style, the gameplay is simple but solid.  Definitely a lot of fun to play. I think the first boss could use some more polish/variation but everything else was on point!

thank you so much!

Very addicting arcade gameplay, also like how it feels a bit like Undertale fighting mode.

Thank you man and thanks for playing it!

congrats, very nice game and really fun. I've tried it several times. The difficulty curve is well handled and I like that is a game that you start and just play, like truly old games were. Graphics are great and animations make it well smooth.

Developer

Thank you so much man, I really appreciate that you liked It! That was the AIM, emulate the nokia game difficult and addiction ,but, in the same time, propose  something new! Thank you again

I loved this game, though I'd need to play more because I kept mixing up the directions and of course I want to see more of the levels! I know it's a tiny detail but the screen shake is very well done (and those tiny details make a game great). I know I'd have absolutely played for hours this game on my Nokia, haha!

Thank you so much man! I really appreciate this! I played the game a lot tò make sure It was free from bugs! So I know what you are saying 🤣 And thanks for playing my game!

👏 Congrats to fit a game like that in a screen small like that! Everything is very "readable" even everything is very small on the screen. What are the challenges you faced to keep this and working with only 2 colors and so few pixels?

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you man! I put a lot of effort and dedication into this game, I did It in 4 / 5 days for the nokia jam session.. Everything has been a challenge but I used the restriction of the two color and 84x48 pixel resolution tò focus more on the gameplay and a lot less on the graphic.. so I use the restriction as a benediction , i could not make a game in two colors with a Little bit of complexity using a lot of things on the screen, because everything could look like a mess. So I thought about something visually simple. The circular gameplay was Born by and idea, a platformer with a player that can move on the Wall and the ceiling ( thanks tò GravenDusk, a very smart man wich I work together tò develop other games ).. After discarding the idea I Say tò myself (what if I make it but with circular walls?) and so everything started. I 've Always made platformer in my gamedev experience , this time I wanted tò overcome myself pushing me into something new and unknown.. Btw I loved all the process and I love this game.. Thank you for playing !

It is a very good game! Fun, has a lot of game juice (especially for a 'Nokia' game), addicting, the different bosses and enemies (especially the walls before the second boss fight) are always fun to encounter. It is pretty hard though (only got to the second boss fight, to which I lost) and the enemies can sometimes spawn right next to you, which is a bit annoying when you are moving fast. But a pretty unique idea!

Developer

Thank you so much man! Even if I did it in very short time I put a lot of effort and passion into it.. for the juice maybe you are talking about screen shake (I put it to simulate the nokia vibration).. I want you to know that the game is completely possible to finish.. But for the second ending you really have to be very skilled.. Thank you a lot for your time and your review, I appreciate it
