Nice game. I wish you could have released it for linux as well. But I still played it using wine.

I like bigass explisions and all the effects you got there. Volume needs to be toned waaaaaaaay down, i have my system vol. at 1, and still go nearly deaf after each big shot. Also does the big gun hurt you by design choice or is it a collider bug?

Package placement seemed semi-random for me, which helps a bit in replayability.

Not considering the volume it is a pretty nice submission.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah the alt fire taking health away was a design choice, though I think I should've conveyed that better. Yeah, I am well aware of the earrape level sound design, I'll be sure to patch that once the jam is over.

Simple but really fun game!

The graphics aren't too good, but those particle effects definitely make up for that!

I really liked the game design, especially that you can get infected without zombies touching you, or that you made different kinds of enemies.

Lots of content for a game made in just 60 hours!

Very nice! i dont see alot of people talking about that insane combat design, a few simple mechanics and theres already so much depth. both attacks are viable but depending on the situation one is usually superior to the other and there are so many tiny factors like positioning and your health that can determine which one you should use, the juice is absolutely amazing and it was absolutely fun to mow down hordes with the second attack and watch the counter go all LGHAKLSHGlshgmslghMSGsmgsukgsmgshbg. The most interesting situation i was in was level two where hordes were coming from me from two sides, one side had two possible paths and the other had one and was much shorter, but the longer one had health which i desperately needed. along with this i had to decide which attacks to use and when and it really was a fun and interesting choice to make.  The font choice and tone is all amazing and this was a really fun play.

of course there were a few faults though, one was that though alot of the controls were intuitive and most of the elements could be found out in a matter of seconds it took me about 5 minutes to even realize that using the second attack took health. also sprinting does not feel like it really offers any tradeoffs and i found myself just holding down shift while playing without any consideration, it would add a ton more depth related around escaping tough situations if there was some cost like HP or if it had a cooldown, aside from these though they did not take away from the experience at all and if resolved can make this game even more dynamic!  Great work and will be looking forward to the games you make in the future!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed the game. Fascinated to see your experiences with the game (that situation you mentioned definitely sounds tense). About the sprint having no consequences, funny story, I initially did do that, but the game ended up being too hard, so instead of balancing it, I just removed the punishment for sprinting. I'll definitely find a way to bring that back without destroying the game's balancing.

haha well remember to keep a clear focused vision and audience in mind, whether you make this for any action hungry player or to satisfy the masochistic urge of those diehard players stay loyal to your choices,  look forward to whatever direction you pick!

cool effects and sound

I love how you menaged to pull so much juice with those particles and shaking effects. I'm so satisfied RN. well done.

Submitted(+1)

Very fast paced and intense, and the particles make everything seem epic and awesome.

I am really bad at shooters, so I couldn't get super far but I am loving these weapons! The noise is a little bit loud but if you turn it down it just adds to the chaos of the game! It's awesome!

Jam HostSubmitted(+1)

Man this is intense! I'm digging the feel of those weapons, they're so satisfying. Part of me wished there was some kind of attack that encouraged to dive into a horde and defeat everyone around me, instead of having to back off. I think a game like this is best when it's very fast paced, but that seems to have been the wrong strategy here. Regarding the HP loss, I think having a separate timer for finishing the level on time would have balanced the difficulty out. Good work!

Developer

Thanks for the feed back! Yeah, I'm aware the HP loss is a bit of an unconventional way to pull off a basic time limit, I might replace it at some point.

>Part of me wished there was some kind of attack that encouraged to dive into a horde and defeat everyone around me, instead of having to back off.

That idea sounds sick actually, I might just do something like that.

Awesome game, I loved it! Played for half a hour xD. Very intense and challenging. I tried different strategies, reached till level 3. Ill try again sometime :p

I like that the game is hard. HP loss over is good in my opinion, I was imagining the reaction of the player who dies due to that when going for the exit door at the end of a level lol. I loved the destruction and intense gameplay, and good feedback on the shots

Only one thing I noticed was that the movement was faster diagonally, probably have to normalise the input

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! and the video actually, thats helpful as fuck. Yeah, I was intending to normalize the inputs, but I kinda just forgot to do it in the middle of the rush.

>I was imagining the reaction of the player who dies due to that when going for the exit door at the end of a level lol

yeah definitely, I imagine that would be a point where people would rage quit lol.

Submitted(+1)

Yeaa that's true. I got the motivation to keep going since I was recording as well, so that's something to consider.

Also there could be a relatively easier Zen mode/ free play mode, just a suggestion. I'm not sure how it will be tho

Submitted(+1)

The only bad thing about the game is the HP loss over time. Otherwise, I liked it.

Submitted(+1)

This was challenging! Good game!

This game was very well Done!. It was super fun to play, a little hard though. The Cool down from "Fire" & "Power" felt perfectly balanced. The camera movement felt pretty good as well, If player aims farther the camera move a little to the mouse position which felt great. Awesome Job!

Really great idea, but shooting is too loud, and also it makes things hard to see

Submitted(+1)

I like the overall idea and gameplay. Clearing hordes of Mobs/Zombies felt kinda satisfying.

Losing health over time, unless you find medicine, makes for a fast pace. Although I didn't like *how* fast. It was a huge trial and error from the first stage and only got harder.

The problem (to my understanding)  is, either you run out of HP too fast and can't clear out the hordes quick enough to collect them

or

the way the health drops makes it necessary to run into a big horde and die most of the times, as the wave clear on mouse 2 comes with a huge downside and doesn't clear enough unless you are in those open areas.  I liked the over the top Animations and Sounds although they where quite a bit of ear torture because how loud they where, at least on my  Headphones.

Developer(+1)

thanks for the feedback! I wasn't able to get any quality testing done on this game due to the time constraints, so I was worried initially that it would be too easy, and it seems I over-corrected for that lol. I'll be sure to fix that in a patch after the Jam is over. Same with the audio (the audio was added last minute so I wasn't able to mix it properly). Also happy that you liked the UI animations, I was afraid players would find that annoying. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

Hey, no worries, it's a Jam game :) I think I rated it pretty fair for that matter as well. I just don't like to give medium to low ratings for Jam games haha.

Really Fun Game.

Really nice game, simply fun :)

Great Game!

really great game, you might want to add epilepsy warning though the explosions might have been a bit over done, nice music aswell

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, thinking about it now, I really should've put a disclaimer there. I'll add that to the list of things to patch in once the jam is over.

Very satisfying and fun, but as ForFarm said damage over time seems unecesarry
