I love rhythm shooters! Metal Hellsinger is one of my most favourite games ever!

This one has the potential to be really great as well!

Right now I feel like the counter and the music start to get a bit out of sync the longer you play.

Also I swear i am hitting on the beat for the pistol, but it just wouldn't "groove" for me.

The shotgun on the other hand fits right in!

Every action feels on beat and it gives me a very satisfying feeling!

The visuals are also really nice for this one!

Great job! I really liked it!

I have to admit, I didn't really get the game.

But I am not big into deck builder games like Belatro.

The art was really nice though! And for someone that likes that type of game, I can definitely see potential here.

Thanks for playing and leaving a positive comment :)

Thank you so much :D

Thanks for the compliments! Glad to hear you enjoyed the music!

Thanks for the feedback! I am also dissatisfied with the technical state of the web version. Godot enforcing the compatibility renderer and only running on one core made things surprisingly difficult.

Thanks for playing :)
I think that mouse bug is an interplay between Itchs mouse control and godots forced mouse mode. The web build in genral was a lot of trouble sadly :(

Thanks! Thats exactly what I was going for! But you are right. I was quite sad, that I didn't find the time to add enemy sounds and other little things in there. Also only having 3 enemy types is a bit boring, but the best I could do. I would have loved to add more though!

Thank you :D

Thank you very much! Auto reload in shooter games is in my opinion always weird. Some players absolutley hate it and other really want it. In the end it came down to my personal preference here. This way it feels a little bit more deliberate. Otherwise you just spam shoot with a brief pause in between. This way you have to press R, which makes moving a tiny bit more difficult and in order to have maximum efficiency, you shouldn't leave non fired rounds in the magazine. In my opinion ,missing auto reload, adds more than it removes.

Thanks for explaining it further! I was just courious :D

Haha!

I see we indeed did have similar ideas.

You did, what I opted out of in the end, because I found it too difficult. Similar to Mullet Madjack the time in your game is a lot tighter and enemies don't restore nearly as much time as they do in my game.

I personally deemed it to punishing in my game and made it significantly easier.

But here it works. I feel like it is still a bit too hard. Enemies could be spaced closer together. I don't like it when you run out of time, because you couldn't find enemies in time. It feels better when they kill me.

But overall a really good attempt at this genre!

Hi!

I liked your little game and finished what was available.

Sad that you didn't get to finish it completely.

I would have loved to play a bit more and see that concept evolve.

Thanks for sharing anyways though!

Hi!

What an interesting idea!

But I feel like it felt a bit too punishing. getting completely rid of jump for example makes the game unbeatable?

Maybe you sacrifice a stat like HP or damage, but keep the moveset. I would also add a mechanic to regain the lost abilities.

I sadly didn't get beyond the first level. Probably a skill issue!

But thanks for uploading and letting me play it :)

Hi!

That is something I wouldn't have expected to come out of this!

I haven't played a game of this genre in years!

Combat felt juicy and it had a nice little riddle to it. Even though I think I just found the end by accident.

Do the enemies ever hit you back?

I feel like sometimes I saw scratch marks that were supposed to be enemy hits, but couldn't really figure it out.

Great game overall!

Hi!

I really like the art!

Personally I found the intro text too much to comprehend in one go. I had to look up the controls after.

At first I was always unsure where to go, but funnily enough, once I started counting it made click. So great job on that part!

The art was perfect, the sounds fitting too, but I would have maybe tuned them down a bit.

But overall a really relaxing cozy game :)

Thanks a lot for playing :D

So you didn't pick up the little hourglasses and always made it through the levels without them?

I know Dofus, but I didn't know that! Haha! Thanks for sharing and for playing :)

It should lock the mouse automatically when clicking into the game. Itch itself makes it somewhat difficult to have the mouse always focused.

But thanks so much for playing!

Thank you very much for your positive feedback :)

Hi!

I really like the movement feel of this. Its a great feeling first person platformer.

One thing I would to to make it even better, is using a decal to project a drop shadow, so you better know where you will land.

Also the moving platforms at the end. I thought it was weird that I didn't move with them.

I loved the footstep sound! It sounded so hilarious to me somehow. Like someone in a cartoon franticly cleaning up before the parents come home.

I beat the game with 24 seconds left!

Thanks for uploading I had fun :)

Hi!

What a nice way to interpret the theme!

And such polished feeling experience as well!

You seemed to have added random generation which is impressive for the given time span.

But I am not sure that is a good thing. I feel like a handcrafted experience with more fitting tasks for you being a buttler would be better.

Trying to get two socks for you master and you somehow need to figure out a way to get exactly two socks out of a giant pile sounds like a fun puzzle game.

Finding levers can be in there from time to time, but I think that can get boring quite fast.

Apart from that, a really cool experience! Had a blast playing it!

Glad you have such a good friend!

And thanks for playing :)

There is actually a ticking sound that starts to get louder the closer you are to death. I guess it is too subtle, but that is something I can improve later.

Thanks for playing!

Hi!

I really loved the game! I am a sucker for FPS games :D

The mechanic where the weapons switch after a few seconds is great! Makes me mad I didn't think of it in my FPS :D

Biggest criticism I would have is the missing "juice", but that is understandable for a game jam!

The same goes for the art and very simplistic level design.

But the character controller feels nice and with more time I think this can really have potential.

Some form of fast paced modern version of Hexen, where you get a random weapon each every few seconds and need to adapt.

Let me know if you want to continue this!

Had a blast playing it!

Hi!

What an amazing little game!

Very short and sweet metroidvania.

The theme implementation is a bit of a stretch, but its funny enough :D

I was pleasantly surprised by almost everything. I didn't encounter any bugs and it felt surprisingly good to play.

Short and sweet at that!

Thanks for uploading! I had a blast!

Hi!

Its been a while since I played a point and click game, so consider me rusty.

I got the hammer, but wasn't able to progress afterwards. I would have thought I need to hit the marble statue with it, but it wouldn't let me.

Also grabbing the key from the linnen closet was not possible, but possible that it will be later.

I also didn't get the puzzle in the study room. I also accidentally bugged it I think. When you put the photos exactly on top of each other, they stick together.

Some music would have been great, this way it felt a bit empty.

But overall I enjoyed my time. If you want, post the solution as an answer to this or in the description of your page and I will take a look again.

Hi!

What a nice little game you have here!

Thankfully I was able to read the comments, otherwise I couldn't figure out "Grannys number" :D

I would have maybe made it a number you can see on something on the desk, like a letter or something. This way I always typed in the same number and only the food for the boss was randomized each run.

And I actually jumped when the bomb exploded the first time! Caught me off guard!

The visuals are really nice too!

Thanks for uploading, get healthy soon and good luck with your exams!

Hi!

Sadly I wasn't able to play very long. Sometimes the treasure wouldn't sell and no matter what I did, the second time I dove in, I wasn't able to surface again. All I did was float above the surface of the water with the water shader still active. Looked super eerie haha

A shame that it doesn't work, because I would have liked to play some more!

The concepts seemed so relaxing and the visuals gave it that cozy game vibe.

Maybe you can fix the bugs in a post jam version?

Thanks for playing! Do you mind sharing what you would improve to make the shooting more satisfying?

Glad you liked it! Maybe I will continue it! Let's see what the future holds

Thanks for playing :D

I am glad you had fun! Thanks for playing and the kind words!

What a great game!

I actually had to think about the puzzles really hard :D

A really well polished overall experience!

Maybe the riddles and hints are sometimes not that clear. In the last mission for example, the monk is apparently lying, which I thought makes him a monster.

I really like the art and sound design.

Had a blast playing through it!

Thanks for uploading!

What an amazing game!

I had a blast playing it!

The difficulty is somewhat easy, but that lead to me being able to break the game in hilarious ways!

Art and Sound are both really good and apart from the bugs that appear when I really break the game, it feels really good to play.

Would love to see more of this!

Great job!

Yay! Another fellow shooter dev :)

I think the theme was quite good implemented!

Also it was a game that wasn't too difficult in my opinion! Really well done.

Sadly there was no sound and the big juicy feeling bits were missing. I also wish I could convert multiple burgers into ammo.

That is really the only thing holding the game back. It is functional, but nothing feels great yet. Adding sounds, screen shakes, hit reactions and what will go a long way.

I personally would have liked to have right click as a toggle. Holding it, is always clunky for me. But that might be best as an option for the player.

I did manage to beat it and had fun overall!

Thanks for uploading!

Hi!

I have to agree with the previous commenters! It is way to hard, which is a shame, because simply driving around in the testmap feels so fun, but I think the level is not doing a good job in utilizing the car mechanics.

Too much stuff you would get stuck on that, little bumps that make you loose control, corners to tight.

The first jump already was way to small for the max speed of the car. I had to break significantly to actually make that turn. A level on street with long corners with an occasional jump over a gamp that doesn't end in a tight turn (or mostly water :D) would have been a much better idea!

Also my R key did not work, which made it incredibly frustrating. Either I sit through the long menu animation and wait for it to reset, or I just try and get another attempt in on that first jump, but then run out of time if I actually do make it.

I would just reset the timer when you reset back to the start. Without checkpoints I don't really see the need for the time continuing to tick down after you got reset to the start.

Regardless, I did beat the game and think it is actually really good. Apart from that timer reset thing, I feel like it is mainly a level design issue, which can be "fixed" easily I hope :)

Hi!

I think the theme was well implemented!

Like the other comment already said, it is quite easy once you figure out you can spam the buttons. I would have liked a time based point system much more.

So the later I press I get more points. That would make the later levels easier to complete, but still hard to get full points.

But overall solid execution! The storyline had me hooked :D

Thanks for uploading :)

Hi!

The theme was really well implemented I think :)

I sadly didn't get very far! The game is incredibly difficult I feel like.

The jumps especially level 3 onwards are super precise and max range. I feel like these should be later levels after I had some fun jumping around in easy levels.

Apart from that it was a nice little platformer.

Music wasn't annoying and the character felt good to control. The only thing I would add here is some form of coyote time, to make the max range jumps a bit more forgiving.

Thanks for uploading! :)

Thank you :) Glad you liked it
