Theme

Dinosaur Town

Correlation to theme
I used the sound of an alligator to invoke the sound of a dinosaur, and the lore that I created for it is themed around dinosaurs.

Haven of the Ancient Claw

Deep in the heart of a jungle amidst misty mountains lies a peaceful village home to a tribe of dino-folk. They live a peaceful lifestyle and have dedicated themselves to the guardianship of an ancient relic -- the left claw of the first Tyranosaurus Rex.

The days are warm and peaceful, full of vibrant lights peering through the fog, and the nights are calm and thoughtful. A visit to the haven is sure to bring one comfort.

Nice entry !

I always listen the composition with a good headphone to ear all the frequencies and the panning. And I can tell you, your music sounds wide, deep and full. I appreciate the alligator sound with the heavy and low drum. It adds a lot to the atmosphere.

If I may, between 0'40" and 0'50" it's a bit crowded in the medium/high. There is a synth playing an ostinato, a piano playing a long arpeggio and the organ. It just happens during those few seconds, i couldn't tell what is the melody. Maybe the organ is to loud... I don't know. What do you think about it ?

However the rest is well-balanced and very pleasant to listen to.

Thanks!

Maybe turning the organ melody into chords was too much at the 0:40 mark. The organs(it is two organs layered,) are meant to still be carrying the melody, and I added two chords with a wah-wah pad to telegraph the bass change to the wah-wah pad in the last segment, since it sounded too sudden without the telegraphing.

that low drone sound throughout the beginning of the track is very unique. i also liked the melody you made.

the high cymbals and the highend of the mix is a bit too much for my liking but that could very well just be my preference.

overall a pretty creative track. i enjoyed listening to the creative sound design. great work!

Thanks!
I assume you mean the tambourines when you say the cymbals?

This song has some good quality, it is very good.

Thank you! I was originally going to go with a more menacing track, but I switched to this sorta last minuteish. Wasn't feeling my initial track, lol.

Wow! What an entry! I haven't read your description before reading and I must say you managed to capture that feeling exactly with your music. (Even though it does sound more like they are protecting the the right claw :P)
I don't really have much to say apart from that. Good job!

Developer

Thanks! Oh man, I knew it! I knew my melody didn't sound left enough, :(.

Nice job! Mainly 0:00 - 0:21 fits imo perfectly to the Dinosaur town feeling! I love that low bass-y drum-sound especially. Awesome job!

Thanks! Yeah, the beginning was intended to hone in on the prehistoric vibe the most.

The low drone makes me feel like I am wandering through a misty jungle. The alligator sound makes a convincing dinosaur cry and is not something I would want to hear if I was in the jungle by myself! My favorite part is the A section with what sounds like a guitar melody accompanied by a mallet instrument. This part hit the prehistoric vibe most for me. Great work and thank you for sharing!

Developer

Thanks! That segment was intended to catch the prehistoric feel the most, while the B and C segments were intended to focus on the calm/chill nature of the village.
