Theme

Pinball City

Correlation to theme
I imagined the different parts of Pinball City to be huge pinball machines. All of these are connected by a central hub called "Pinball Plaza".

Since pinball machines are pretty much linked to arcade halls, I tried to create a jazzy arcade hall theme where the player can basically select the next pinball machine to play, buy drinks or chat to people.

The high piano has light bouncy and is reminiscent of different bumpers and various triggers being bumped and lighting up which is a cool effect. My favorite part is when the brass take over the melody, the energy takes a step up at that point and it really gets grooving then. One suggestion I have is that the balance seems to fall heavily onto the brass chorus when it is playing. I don’t think you would lose much energy if you turned the volume down a little on it since you seem to have reverb and chorus mixed into it to make it feel bigger without drowning out the kit elements and the pulsing bass. This is really fun and well-crafted, great work and thank you for sharing!

Very nice track! The instrumentation goes really well with the jazzy and arcadey vibes here!

The only thing I think it's holding the song back is the drums, which could use more parts of the drum kit like the different hi-hats.

But other than that I really liked it, great job!

Really cool song!

I really like the bass and the melody, they are really cool :D

It reminds me of metallic zone from Sonic Mania

Now that's a pinball city I would want to go to!

It starts out nicely soft yet gets wilder the song goes on without ever losing the theme. You clearly know what you're doing ;). Love the brass section at 0:56, and its freeform section at 1:16+. I am notoriously terrible at freeform sections (never know what the hell to put in them), but you nailed it! The song also nicely loops, and has a pinball-city feeling to me.

Overall, awesome entry! :D

Thanks :)
The looping part is actually one of the things I really didn't like about this song. I had absolutely no Idea how to incorporate that, but then again I really struggle with transitions overall.

Ooooooh groovy, i can sort of see this being played in a plaza, or in a video game trailer that shows multiple locations in the game, the plaza being one of them

The full section a minute in is mind-blowingly good, and then the horns right after has an amazing melody, and the quick little bass break is a good choice after the fuller section

Developer

"mind-blowingly good" :D Thanks a lot for that.
