Quite tricky. I like the way the bosses all test different ideas. Was difficult for me to remember in the moment how to use combos, but that's more a consequence of my lack of quick thinking rather than the game's fault. Great work!

Developer

Thank you! I designed the boss enemies as such to force players to use combos. Maybe I could teach players how to use combos on smaller enemies before facing the boss.

I really like rhythm games and this is no exception.

Simple mechanics which is easy to use and hard to master.

Developer

Thank you for playing!

Love a good rhythm game! The concepts in this game are excellent; I've never played Crypt of the Necrodancer, but I can see the inspiration! I actually found it pretty challenging at times, but it was a really enjoyable game overall, well done!

Developer

Thank you! I admit that I wasn't able to properly tweak the difficulty curve since I ran out of time.

Really nice game. Could use some visual effects, but the gameplay is very well done, gradually introducing mechanics and increasing challenge

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I agree that the visuals need more polish. I'll try to learn how to make visual effects soon!

There are a ton of rhythm games in this this jam, but this is one of the best achieved ones in my opinion, great job! I had lot of fun playing it. :)

Developer

Thank you for your kind words!

Wow, this game is tough!
Super fun though! I think I ended up cheesing the running away guy by just having enough health to jump into his sword with a "sword jump" combo, but I mean it got the job done!

Really great game, all around. I had a lot of fun playing it!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Yeah you can definitely do that if you have enough health but the cleaner way to do it was to do a move+block combo followed by a move+attack combo. Thank you for playing my game! I'll check out yours soon.

Awesome game. I got stuck on enemy running away. Couldn't hit him, but I wasn't very good :)

I Love what you did with textures and the colors you used.

Didn't quite understand what to do with mana, but I wasn't that good to fill it up anyway :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! Mana is used for combos (pressing two buttons together). Doing combos is actually needed to defeat the bosses (especially the last two). Maybe I can explain mana and combos more clearly in the tutorial.

Really cool game, the best of the rhythm-dungeon sort of games I've played in the jam so far. The mechanics are creative and the gameplay is satisfying. The graphical and audio feedback are nice.

I couldn't get past level 3, the combination of the spikes and fireballs seemed impossible to me but I could just be missing something. Overall really good job!

Developer

Thank you so much! Yeah I think the last level may be too hard but once you figure out how to do combos consistently then it becomes easier. I'll try to tweak the difficulty when I update the game.

Nice implementation of the tutorial, nice and progressive. I liked the rpg like attack system and the juice. Maybe a tad bit of post-processing/lighting could always make a game shine! Also I kept on clipping into walls, which ended up getting a bit annoying, but hey! A great game with 4 star engagement! :D

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I'll look into the wall-clipping issue. I'll try out your game when I get to play the submissions.
