Great game and a really unique concept! The blurring effect for things far away and the UI design are both really good. The animations are also very full of life. The music was fitting and chill

I think the reason this doesn't have more plays is because the profile icon of the game doesn't reflect all of the hard work you put into it. I suggest improving the icon so more people can enjoy this game!

The textboxes falling down the screen all at once also got a little overwhelming to read, so I suggest rethinking how you display that. It was problem a time constraint thing but if you continue working on the game I would suggest improving the font and design of those textboxes.

Overall really well done! Very polished and a cool gameplay concept.

Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

I think you're right about the profile icon. Another reason might be the lack of an option to play in browser. I replaced the icon and re-engineered some stuff to make a webgl build possible! I hope more people get a chance to play now. :)

You're right about the textboxes being a little overwhelming. I have ideas for how to address those UX challenges in the next release.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

Huge improvement on the thumbanil! Although the title doesn't stay on screen long enough to read it, but some gameplay footage is always a nice draw

I'll have to make a second attempt, haha...

Such a cool concept. Casino games with a story and a battle mechanic. Looks fantastic too.

Now THAT was total atmosphere. Slaying Gobbies is my hobby, so making that bitch explode was great. Webby SUCKS... Or rather I do, I don't know how to play poker (I think this was poker) but I still managed to best everyone *Webby took some trying* Thank God you get 10k from your pooch if you lose. Really really great vibe, from the music to the atmosphere. THIS was 3D pixel art done right.

Fun game!

didn't get to the end yet, but hard alot of fun regardless.
There is potential with the dog to make him do more things in my opinion
(For example, he could show a quick flash of the rival's cards)

Keep it up!

This is a really great game. I have a lot of fun playing it. The aesthetic and sound design are top notch as well, and the game play is... well, it's poker, what more can you ask for!

There's some small complains I have, like the bet amount doesn't reset so sometimes you'll bet money if you click too fast, and all-in doesn't reveals all the community cards immediately (which I guess is good for the security alert cooldown?). I'll say abilities costs are a bit too high, but other than that, really solid game that I can easily see being expands into a full game.

Developer

Thank you so much! I completely agree about the complaints. I think one solution for all-in not revealing the community cards immediately would be to replace Call/Check with a "Showdown" button when someone has gone all in. If you pay off the pit boss, the ability costs are lowered and security alert cooldown goes twice as fast. This should probably be communicated to the player as soon as you pay.

I'm really glad you enjoyed the game!

Insanely impressive for a jam game, I’d seriously consider buying this if it was endless or was longer at least. Everything felt very well polished. If I was going to nitpick, it took a bit to find all the encounters, especially in the right room before the boss, it was rather unintuitive to have to walk back to the left then down and around to get to the boss. Not a huge thing since its not really the main point of the game but I would’ve preferred WASD over click to move. Also would’ve liked to know what paying the 10k to the pit boss actually did for me before paying him off. Those are all really minor though, game is easily 5/5.

I could not figure out how to play this version of poker but nevertheless it was a stylistic game with a fun gimmick of the dog  and a cool setting, I would like to see  more games added in the future like blackjack.

Speed running seems promising

Not gonna lie, I don't even have the slightest clue how poker works and I just checked 24/7. Nevertheless this game was really fun and gave me an Undertale sort of vibe. I especially love the music the battles just get so much more intense. Overall this game could really use a tutorial of sorts especially for a noob like me. Besides that tough amazing game and well done especially the sound design and the use of the art kit in this game looks amazing.

That's really high praise! I agree, the game definitely needs a tutorial. I'm working on it right now, and I'll try to add it once the jam is over. Thank you so much for playing the game.

Edit: I added a tutorial right before the deadline!
