Great implementation of the limitation! It helps a lot that the movement is very smooth and that the graphics (and namely color trails) make the moves of previous actions very clear as well. It got difficult quick but with some strategic thought you can get quite far, overall really nice jam game.

Thank you for playing and for your kind words.

Great submission! The concept is simple but keeps you hooked on trying to beat yourself over and over! Nice work!

Thank you, I still need some work on the effects and optimization.

Nice mechanic with super satisfying presentation there :D

Gets hard quick, but the restart makes it still feel forgiving :)

Developer

Thank you. Difficulty scaling really needs some work though.

Great game. I love the concept of having your previous movements be your enemy.

Developer

Thank you. Your game has a very nice mechanic too.

Got to day 11, amazing game, the people in the comments already explain why very well. I love the noise that gets made when you lose. My main issue is if the mouse reaches a border its a bit disorienting, I would have it snap to the point on the border closest to the mouse instead. Otherwise an amazing game.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. The movement system surely needs some more work just like you said.

Thank you again.

Perfectly embraces the theme, finely polished, lovely sound fx, I really love this game. If I could download this on my phone I totally would. 5/5 in all categories, great job! I made it to day 19

Developer

Thank you for playing and for your kind response. I never thought anyone could even make it to the second digit day.
You must have very good organizational skills.

Seems like you took it from the jam page "A mechanical interpretation could be every time you die, your past self becomes an obstacle or enemy for you to face", which is fine! I wanted to see that one being done.

One thing I will say is that it's probably better to move the character towards the mouse position rather than jumping straight to it. This would prevent cheating, but more importantly, my character wouldn't get stuck on walls (which was a little frustrating).

Maybe prevent people from standing in one place, too?

Nice use of the limitation! Had fun playing.

Thank you for your feedback. The movement system really has flaws, just like you mentioned. I might consider changing it to physics based in the future along with some additional features like pre-made level and difficulty scaling. With this current movement system might cause some problems with the pre-made level too.

Thank you again.

Developer

Thank you for playing . Your game is also interesting and well crafted, especially the artwork.

Super neat! Really good idea, very well executed. Visuals are super cool and snazzy. Loved the slowmo when colliding, really adds a dramatic feeling to losing. Very good work!

Very nice visuals, with also very good effects to follow. I like the glow to all the objects.

This game did make me realize that I should've planned out my movements more, how I should've moved slower around the map so I could be predictable. Instead I went fast and then in the future would just die because a previous me whipped across the map lol.

Movement felt a bit weird, but I think that might've just been the fault of the Web player, would sometimes move my mouse more than I meant to, or not follow 100%.

I think a game like this would really benefit from some hand made level designs. Since I assume the objects in the arena are randomly placed, you could end up getting certain arrangements that make it harder than other playthroughs.

As many of the "don't get hit by your past" games have gone, it is also a pretty reliable strategy to just sit still until everything else has moved, which I think would be the best option within this game. Although you did add a timer, but I think it may be a bit too generous with the time it gives you.

You did a good job though, one of the few games of the jam where I thought of different strategies to get higher scores. (Moving all clockwise, trying to stay to the edges, moving slowly, etc.)

Nice job!

Developer

Thank you for your valuable feedback. As you mentioned, a proper level design would be a nice addition, and it will help me manage difficult scaling easier too.

Thank you again.

Cool idea! I think we need to see even more levels! don't drop this game. Cool puzzle!

Developer

Thank you for playing and for the feedback.

I will say this game is awesome! I can not pass day 6 even though I keep trying but the difficulty bring me a lot of joy! Music and UI look good too!

Developer

Thank you for playing. I'm happy to know that you enjoyed it. Without proper level design, this game is quite a little bit too hard though.
