Wow. I got nothing else to say, this is amazing. The only thing I can think of is making the rooms' doors more explicit, something is was only the edge of the screen, and in some cases it is another room and in some other it is walls. 10/10 would slash through 'em enemies again.

I really liked the concept and the art is really great. The movement feels good until i got a really annoying bug that force movement to the right, but for some reason it only happened while using joystick. Other than that it is a great game and i would like to see more of it!
Excellent game! I really enjoyed the difficulty of the boss. I think he was spot on with visual queues and all. Art is excellent. Combat was really fun especially with the boss you guys designed!
The graphics were especially pretty on this one. I feel like they really fit the overall aesthetic. The upgrade buying was a neat mechanic, and that last boss was fun to fight. I can tell this can grow to be a very cool metroidvania.
In all honesty, I think simply making the starting health just a tad higher will make the beginning much more bearable.
I can totally see how you may be trying to let the player feel the challenge up front so they are more dedicated to beat it. If that's your direction, the leveling system really makes that possible and actually compliments the idea of building your character up really well. I wouldn't even mind fighting a mini-boss near the beginning to try and build exp. After finally beating him I would feel great and wonder what the game has to offer.
Really cool game, here are my feedback on it:
+ The universe is beautiful, it reminded me a lot of Sundered
+ The music is really good, it goes the same for the feedback sounds
+/- The character controls well most of the time! I noticed sometimes that I made an extra move, or there is an extra jump, whereas I released the left joystick/A button, I think that it is maybe a bug, like an input lag.
- For me, it misses some feedback on the player and the enemies, when they get hit, indeed, sometimes I didn't know if I hit the opponent, or if I was hit. So, I think that a little animation and/or a push on the player/enemy will definitely improve the feeling of the fight system.
Overall: Very nice work!
Amazing work! Controls feels good, animation and art style are awesome. Playing was a delight! I really hope this game will have a bright future!
Yay, I beat it! Awesome artwork, the leveling system was fun to play with and there was a nice variety of enemies. You guys did great!
Very impressed with what you've managed to achieve here in a month. The graphics are amazing, and so is the gameplay - combat feels fluid yet tight. Add in a few more moves and it would be on par with Muramasa: The Demon Blade. The boss did take a few more hits than I'd have liked, but as it is the end of the game I understand why it was made that way. If you're looking for any suggestions, I'd say you could allow the character to have a few extra swings mid air before landing again. Maybe even an air dash. Both could be locked behind power ups if you feel they're too OP.
