Comments on the jam
This jam is a fun time. I wish I could have polished some of this up and added more in the given 30 days but I'm sure I'll get to it eventually...

Very good game! The graphics and the music are well-made and the game is enjoyable. I didn't encounter too many performance issues, way less than I thought I would by reading the comments. It has already been mentionned, but the stamina system does make the game less enjoyable, I was in the middle of a fight and ran out of stamina so I just started turning around until I could get 2-3 bullets ready. Appart from that, I did enjoy playing Neon Madness, great work!

Interesting game, I liked the retro-futuristic visuals and music. The screen size is way too big for my resolution and it was somewhat difficult to play it because of that.

Glad you liked it! I did go with a pretty big screen size, yeah...

Using the downloadable version of the game you can resize the game window, if you wanted to give it another go.

Good game, here are my feedback on it:

+ I loved the art style! Keep it up with this style, you have something here!

+ The music and the feedback sounds are cool, and fit well the game.

+ Also I liked the puzzle system for unlocking the doors, it is really clever.

+/- The gameplay is really cool and nervous, I like a lot this kind of gameplay, however I was quite frustated by the shoot stamina. It would have been nice, if it was infinite like a shoot'em up.

Overall: Nice work!

This was so nice playing it. There are such good mechanics, and they are well used. The overall is very colorful with a unique style: simple, yet very well think. I never knew I would play a spacetroidvania once in my life xD! Good job on this, really clever mix!

The music had such a good beat. I was humming the tune even after the game. The movement controls felt a little sluggish, but once I got used to it, it was pretty fun. Great game!

Very interesting concept, fun to play. I felt a bit frustrated with the controllers when trying to push the green ball around, but other than that it felt great.  The graphics look amazing and the music is pretty great!

This is amazing!

Space Shooter + Metroidvania feels like an odd combination, but you pulled it off! Impressive work!

Also, the desktop version ran pretty smoothly for me!

Awesome visual effects, but game runs at ~ 5-10 fps on my machine, which makes it hard to play. Maybe it's a problem related to my particular hardware. It's sad, cause all those particles and blackholes really makes me want to dive into NEON MADNESS! Stylish! Hope you can optimize it or smth. Anyway, I was able to finish the tutorial :)

Glad you liked it!

Sorry to hear about your performance issues, I'm definitely going to be optimizing it so it runs better in the post-jam edition. I'm not sure if you tried pressing "P" and changing the particle settings to low. That and using the downloadable client and making the window size smaller are currently the only options for improving performance at the moment.
