Did you work in a team?
I worked alone, and it was challenging, but I enjoyed it anyway because the jam theme was very fun.

Was the resolution a challenge?
In the beginning I though that my greatest difficult would be with the art, since I don't know how to create pixel art, but in the end I think may hand-drawn art style fits pretty well with the low resolution, I'm really satisfied with it :D

What did you learn?
I used some new features in the engine that will help me in the future. But the best thing I learned in this jam is to work with lower resolutions (not necessary 64x64 in future projects hehehe) but since I always make hand-drawn art, I think I could mix in some aspects the low resolution with it to have new results, that will help me, since I work mostly alone in my projects, and lower resolutions might help a lot (I hope, hehehe)

cute pixelart, movement and jumping is satisfying too. i dont totally understood what do you mean by your "bases". Music is totally fit for the theme, and the sfx are funny. Had fun playing it.

Developer

Thank you for your review! The "Bases" are like your "house" or "where is the lawn mower" in Plants vs Zombies, maybe the best term would be "Headquarter" or something like that. I may be using the wrong term in English for what I'm trying to explain, I think "base" maybe its a false cognate with Portuguese in this case...

Pretty cool little game! The movement feels good, and the sound and art are great! My only complaint is that it's a bit hard to keep up with what's happening when so much is off screen. I totally understand the constraints of using this resolution though. Regardless, nice job on this one, I had a blast playing it!

Developer

Thank you so much! Yes, the resolution constrains was real challenging in this matter, but I really liked to try to make this work some how.

Nice and cute graphics - it looks really good :) and the sounds are also cute :)

The game was also quite fun - would even be better if the enemies showed some kind of feedback like flashing or throwback when you attack them :)

Developer

Thank you so much! I just put the particles and the sounds as feedbacks, flashing effects are something that I aways forget to put, I have to remember them, because they give a great feedback and cool effect for the game :D

Cuuute ^^ Ive thought about coming up with ideas for tower defence games where you control the character just like this! :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I though balance this kind of game very challenging, because or its so frustrating to not be able to defend the tower if there is too many enemies, or (in the case of my game) you can crowd control only a few enemies to not lose, I'm still thinking in the best way to balance this kind of tower defense

Really polished and cute! Wasn't easy to tell what was going on, especially at the beginning. The end level screen feel kinda sudden, I think you can feel the absence of victory/defeat animations, but I understand the time limitation of a jam too well. The lore behind the game sounds really cool, good luck with your project!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad that you liked the lore of the game :D and I totally forgot to put some kind of delay or animation in the victory screens to prevent you from skip them unintentionally and give them more impact :(

Fast fluid character movement. Burn animation packs a punch!

It was hard to tell if the game’s resolution was strict/lenient about the 64x64 pixel constraint. Regardless of that, the art is great.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I used the pixel perfect component in the camera in unity and set it to 64x64 pixels, so I had to make every sprite in the right size to fit in the screen properly, the main character is 19 pixels tall for example, if I'm not mistaken :D

Game looks really great. The art is super charming. Sounds are good too. Gameplay is fun though was a little confusing at first. Tough to see what's happening at such a small resolution. Definitely cool.

Developer

Thank you so much! The resolution was a real challenge for me, and I kept this idea of a game that maybe could be better in a bigger resolution to make it even more challenging hahahaha

Super cute art style and sprites. Jumping feels pretty good, although you can't see far because of the resolution... Otherwise it wasn't super clear to me where the bases where and which of the UI elements was associated with which one. Great job overall!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your review :D In the beginning I tried to put some indication in the background of what base you are lined with, but I couldn't manage to do this than I dropped this idea, and I shouldn't have done that...

Very nice art and audio

Developer

Thank you :D

The art is cute and music & sfx were nice. Cool game concept and smooth execution, but the difficulty of seeing what's fully going on in the world takes a bit away from the gameplay.

The lore/story you've incorporated with this game is pretty cool! I like that.

Developer

Thank you for your review! Yes, I think maybe my game would be better in a 16:9 screen, the resolution was really challenging for me. I'm happy that you liked the lore of the game too :D

Nice work! Also, the music is really catchy.

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad that you liked :D

I really like the design of the art, nice and cartoony and the background music fits well.

Developer

Thank you so much!

Lovely cartoony design on this one. Nice entry

Developer

Thank you so much! I was really scared about the art-style in the beginning of the jam, so I'm really happy that you liked the result :D

I love the graphics and animations of this game :P
It's obvious you put a lot of effort. Great work!

Thank you so much! I'm really glad that you liked :D I tried my best to make a good game, even with its problems I'm really happy with the result because of it :D
