Developed by just myself! I did the coding and graphics. I used creative commons for audio.

Was the resolution a challenge?
I like working in smaller resolutions. I'm not a great artist, and the lower the resolution, the more I can get away with :)

What did you learn?
My goal for this jam was to not just make something playable, but add in a little story and a real end game... also a menu! lol!

Really nice submission! The humor is nice, and I felt like the graphics and audio (besides that way too loud landing "thump") set the mood quite well.

Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, I know I went a little overboard with the dialog. Live and learn, lol, but that’s why there’s a way to skip it all :)

Nice game. Really like the fire and water effects. Good atmosphere and the sound suits it well. Like others have mentioned,  the resolution limit means have to press the button a lot to get through the dialog. First time through i was rushing through the dialog and missed how to swap spells. Did better the second time tho.

I’m glad you enjoyed it! As for the dialog, lol, I definitely should have tried making it clearer… it could be skipped completely by double pressed CTRL on the keyboard or B on the controller.

Interesting game.... The guide was quite the interesting character :D And as many others said the graphic effects were really good... though the little light spell didn't really help that much with the darkness.... For most of the time it was quite hard to see for me.

Yeah, I was debating about making the lighting spell brighter and/or bigger, but I hid at least one secret location in every map (with two secret maps that can be found through the game), and didn’t want a light bright enough to give things away. I wanted something that could be used to find the switches. Sorry it wasn’t really helpful over all, but I’m glad you enjoyed the game regardless!

Great atmosphere in this game, I impressed by the particle effects and lights you used, makes the whole more mysterious ! I had some difficulties controlling the character at first but then I got used.

Really nice, I like the fire spell a lot! and the Screen fog/smoke effect. Props for using Godot as well ^_^! Good work :)

Great visuals. I liked the atmospheric fog and the fire effect. The dialog was fun as well, but it definitely would have played better if there were more words onscreen, as hitting a button every three words or so messed with the flow.

As far as the dialog goes, I know. I tried fitting in more but between the small resolution and, by the time I was adding the dialog, the cramped time frame, it was what it was. That said, you can skip dialog by pressing ‘CTRL’ or the ‘B’ button twice!

I liked the graphics very much. Godot´s lighting is impressive and you used it well. There was a lot of story. Overall this is a good game. -oneak

What a lovely looking game! Nice sound, nice movement. Until... god... but the "tutorial". Mannn, I wanna play, not mash spacebar! At a couple points i just read discord while mashing away, just to look back and it still wasnt done. The tiny resolution really hurts you here. The writing isn't even bad, theres just so much! If you were to remake, it, please put high res fonts. Or, better yet, a voiceover.
Ohhh, the fire looks so sweet but kind of tanks the FPS. Strange. CPUparticles?
Also, I got stuck on the level after the fire switch door. So many tutorials, but none here. (I think it may be a bug.)
Psst, I'm sure more people would play your game if you had a gif of it, and if you made a HTML5 build (i see the .pck! no excuses!) :)

Lol… actually, there is a what to skip the dialog. On the keyboard double press ‘CTRL’ and and on the controller double press ‘B’. That will skip the entire dialog. The particles are handled by the CPU but because I needed two different particles to interact with each other and the environment is a specific way that I couldn’t figure out how to do with the built in system. I’ll have to see about the HTML5 build. Never tried it :)

I love the environment, I felt like the "guide" was screwing with me...  And the FONT was awesome it can be hard to read any thing at the res... but You nailed it!

Lol, the ‘guide’ just might have their own agenda… who can say? I’m very glad you enjoyed the game, and I’m glad the font was readable. There were times I doubted it :)

Fantastic entry, I love the humorous touch in the “guide”. The mechanics are very complete and the game plays really well, sound matches the ambience pefectly. Superb work! A little suggestion though… you could get the game started with an already “scaled” window… you cannot play comfortably at 64x64, easy “full-screen” option does not work that well… somewhere in the middle initially would reduce the need to find your own scaling.

Thank you very much! I appreciate you playing and I’m very happy you enjoyed it. I agree with you about scaling. To be honest, on my computer, the game starts up and scales itself to my screen automatically (it’s more to due with my window manager) and, as such, I didn’t think about the scaling so much. I’ll try to work something out in that regard for the next time I do the LowRezJam.
