A very interesting game with a fun and engaging concept. I particularly loved the color palette—it’s quite limited, but the colors are harmonious and create a unique atmosphere.

The sound effects are really satisfying, especially the swimming sounds and the impact when hitting the plants. On that note, I only realized the plants were destructible after several attempts at finding a clear path for the fish. A more noticeable visual feedback indicating that collisions deal damage could be helpful for players—something like particles flying off or a flashing effect would be enough to make this clearer.

One thing I noticed during gameplay is that the fish can only change direction when colliding with something. This was probably an intentional choice, but it would be interesting if we had the option to alter the fish’s movement without necessarily having to hit an obstacle. That could make the gameplay feel a bit faster and more fluid.

Another useful visual addition could be a preview of the circle that will be created when clicking the mouse. This would help players better understand how the fish will move, giving them more control over its actions.

Overall, it’s a really relaxing and immersive game. I genuinely enjoyed the concept and think you did a great job bringing it to life.

Wishing you the best of luck in the jam, and congratulations on the project!

A very relaxing and soothing game!

The concept was fun and fit the theme well. Simple, yet effective and enjoyable to play. The overall atmosphere was calm and peaceful, and both the pixel art visuals and the audio contributed nicely to that feeling. It felt polished also.

A subtle background scene and some extra challenges or new mechanics at higher levels could have been nice additions, but even as it is, it was a pleasant experience.

Keep going like this with your future games!🎮✨

The best one so far but I am give all 3 stars.

Very fun and clean game. I just wish there was an ending planned in the game. I think I played for what felt like 10-15 minutes and started to think it just went on forever. Which means good job with the randomizing of levels and planning for collisions on the canvas.

A very simple yet cozy game that fits the theme perfectly. However, it becomes repetitive quite quickly, as it’s missing new mechanics or variations to keep things fresh. The sounds fit well, though the absence of music is noticeable... The animations and art style are really nice and cute! With some additional mechanics or different types of puzzles, this could be a real standout.

I love the sounds and movement it feels like a very calming game.  It is a bit confusing sometimes as in the fish doesn't seem to move circles when they are to close to each other but except for waiting 1 or 2 loops it is not clear you did not place it will. But that is just a tiny thing

Great chill game to play while passing the time! I love the visuals and sound affect, I only wish there was slightly more obstacles or harder levels but still it was an enjoyable time watching my fish move around.

Fantastic little game! Anything about a fish is my kind of game! I lost track of time playing. The graphics and animation fit perfectly.

A super creative concept - and one that fits the theme perfectly. Well thought out, very nice job!

Ok like others have said yes gameplay-wise it's short BUT wow I love the presentation! The little ripples in the water as your little fish wiggles around, the gentle ambience playing in the background and clean splash sounds, and I think best of all your itch page and colour palette choices for the game set the mood perfectly. Chill little experience with a great presentation!

Simple and clean, its relaxing to play and easy to understand. It feels more like a little experience than a game.

Congrats for your submission.
I like the cozy atmosphere, and like some folks mentioned, some added gameplay mechanic would be much appreciated. Or some more challenges. Discovering new mechanics and challenges while playing a game is very exciting.

The gameplay concept works well for a cozy experience, but I wish it had a bit more intensity by adding obstacles like moving or rotating elements. Visually, it’s very clean, and the minimalistic style is amazing. The level design could also have a bit more variation to make each level feel distinct.

I don't believe that complicating the controls should be the challenge of a game. I understand the original control, but crashing into the edges and not being able to pick up the food, I don't consider that a good challenge.

I liked the graphic atmosphere, but there is a rather unpleasant sound that sounds like a toilet.

The effort to create such an original control is appreciated. It's a shame about the gameplay.

It is indeed a loop, but I don't think you're trapped in it because you're creating other loops.

Very nice, is that fish procedural animation or is it just a spritesheet? Because it looks so cool when the pixels don't rotate.

Developer

spritesheet, screen resolution is 160x144 so everythings pixel accurate hence why it doesnt make those wierd rotated pixel art sprites :)

interesting. Will defenly try this technique in the future.

There is something so cool about minimalism done right. Love how you don't just use the loops as a gameplay mechanic, but also a visual element.

For a while, this is a chill, relaxing game. Then it get's maybe too chill, but I get it- this is a relaxing thing, not a dopamine pump :)

So I'm just going to rate every category with some comments to it.

Gameplay: It was pretty fun the first minutes to get to the food. After some while, though, this became a bit repetitive. Maybe some more environmental difficulties that would make it harder to get to the food would have been cool (maybe a bigger map after some time too, then?)

Art: Cute art style, cool effects behind the fish, overall a good atmosphere

Sound: There was not a lot of sound, but that's because you couldn't really add a lot here, lol. The implemented sounds were good, and the background "music" was setting a good atmosphere.

Innovation: Cool concept; again, with more level design, this could be a really good game.

Theme: The game definitely has "loop" in it, but how does the fish "break the loop"? Maybe I don't understand it too. :p

Besides the critic, it's a solid game and very polished!
