This was a fantastic experience! The pixel art and retro vibe worked so well together, and I really loved the attention to detail in both the visuals and sound design. The intro and ending were especially strong—really pulled me into the game's world.
Gameplay-wise, I appreciated the challenge, though I did find some enemy spawns a bit too unpredictable at times. The shooting mechanics felt great, and I liked the variety in weapons, though I would have loved a bit more control over swapping them.
The interpretation of the theme was really clever! The way the loop was incorporated into both the gameplay and narrative was well done, and it kept me engaged the whole time.
Overall, an awesome jam entry! Would love to see this concept expanded further. Great work! 🔥🎮
This is such a unique take on orbital mechanics! The way gravity acts as the loop to be broken is a clever interpretation of the theme. The physics feel well thought out, and it's satisfying to successfully navigate between planets. However, I do agree with others that the initial learning curve is quite steep, perhaps a small tutorial or visual hints would help players get the hang of it faster.
I also noticed that the particle effects on the rocket don’t always align perfectly when tilting, which could be a nice polish improvement. The zooming effect on the planets is really impressive; it gives a great sense of depth while keeping everything in 2D. Overall, a fantastic and immersive experience! great job! 🚀🔥
A fun and creative twist on Flappy Bird! I like the idea of breaking the classic loop, and the visuals match the lighthearted style well. However, I noticed that some players found an exploit by keeping the pipes closed, maybe adding a cooldown or an energy limit could balance that out. Also, a bit more variety in gameplay (like different enemy types or obstacles) could make it even more engaging. Adding sound effects would also help enhance the atmosphere. Overall, great effort, especially for a game made in such a short time! Keep it up!
This game has a really strong and unique concept, and I love how it embraces destruction in a strategic way. The sound design and visual effects really add to the chaotic fun, making every action feel impactful. However, I did find the object placement to be a bit restrictive, which sometimes made it frustrating to execute the destruction I envisioned. Perhaps adding clearer feedback on where objects can and cannot be placed (like a slight glow or grid indicator) would help smooth out the experience. Also, some mechanics(like the torch) could benefit from a brief in-game tutorial or clearer visual hints to make their functionality more intuitive. Overall, a great game with a lot of potential! excited to see how it evolves!
Overall, the game is very fun and I think you know that there's a lot of room for improvement to make the player experience a more immersive gameplay. There will for sure be players who will get stuck figuring out the puzzle so giving a hint would be helpful. Also when the player fails the level, a moment that signals defeat/loop repeat would be a nice touch. I don't see how it fits the theme other than of course repeating the level if you fail. Nice work otherwise and keep improving it.
I liked the concept and Idea you had going here, though the movement felt very clunky to me since I could walk on air and also just slide off edges really fast and not being able to turn quickly made it so that once I'm spotted its already over. With a few more polishes to the movement and some more mechanics as well as adding some bgm could have something great going!
Quite an adorable platformer game. Love the visuals and music, as well as the level design and platformer. I think i would've enjoyed it more if I were building momentum as I was running for a longer jump to get past certain traps, I also encountered times where I fall off before having the chance to jump. Still love the overall vibe you had with the game!
Great concept! I like how there are a lot of ways you can do that would destroy your copies, and enjoyed the puzzles you had. The sound and art were done well although the screen size was small on my end and I couldn't enlarge it. Great game nonetheless and look forward to more of your ideas and puzzles!
I can really see the potential in this game, especially if you integrated a split screen feature too , that can be very very fun to do with a friend ! I was a little lost in the minigames too for a few secs without a tutorial but got the hang of it after a while. The bgm and sound effects went really well together!
i love the concept of this game in regards to the theme. Im a fan of particle accelerators in scifi stories, but being able to incorporate it on a simple game, I have never thought about that. The gameplay is good, but it could get a little frustrating, maybe its just because I suck. Maybe add distance indicators or maybe the force, that way players could have an idea how far or near the package is going to go. Anyway, I like the visual of the game, good job!
Being able to create this kind of game in such a short time is not easy, but you were able to do it. And for that, I salute you. The game needs a lot of improvement though, and maybe I can help you point that out. First, you need to add more information on what each buildings will do, maybe a context menu on hover. Next, you need to create a tutorial level. I found myself just dropping buildings without knowing what i really am doing. Which brings me to my next point, having only one requirement to build a building(i.e. wood) makes the game so easy. Maybe add more requirements like stone. Also add warnings or indicator for food outage, I lost the game because I had no idea my people are starving XD. Anyway, theres a lot of potential for this game if developed properly. Good job and good luck!
Finally a chess that I can win! I have never seen a game like this one, definitely a unique game. The mechanics are well implemented. I love how different pieces have different ranges, sometimes i forgot that tthis is a chess too. Theme wise, it is not there. The game could also do a little bit more work. My pieces go over the board rail, prolly some collision issues. The black screen on the right also confused me at first, maybe place something there so that players will know its purpose upon running the game. Aside from that, great job on this one. Clearly a unique game that could go well in the market.
Probably the simplest way to integrate the theme to a game and you did it well. The story does touch the theme a little and it is short, which is good enough for a gamejam. You have the foundation to create a whole game based on what I can see. Also, knowing how you made this in one day makes me wonder what you couldve built in 1 year. I did see some bugs though, which some of them are already mentioned by others. The art is also good, though I cant seem to take my eyes off the weird door XD. Anyway, definitely good job on this one and keep making games like this.
You can tell it's a tower defense game at first glance but it needs instructions on the game mechanics. Interesting plot. Main menu audio was good music so I was wondering why it wasn't used during the gameplay. Visuals need polishing, the fonts were too small. The numbers increased too much and fast to be readable. I could not finish the game because UI got stuck. Using natural elements was intuitive for the players to know how to defeat enemies and where to place towers. Great game!
Great game! amazing art and combat, greatest part was the perks we get with each death which made me want to die at times just to get a another perk, I think most people didn't think much about the loop point of view because it felt a lot like any other side scrolling fighter where you kill to progress, if possible maybe can try adding a element to emphasize the loop more than the combat. An example would be maybe cause the glitch to reset an entire level if not killed within a certain amount of time. It was still a really enjoyable game though ! great job!
Being the nerd I am, I absolutely love narrative based games and this one clicked really well with me. The subtle hints being given in a sort of riddle too made it much more satisfying to solve and unravel the meaning of each page. One of my favorite parts was when the dark ambient music starts to play, I did kind of hope that the room would have subtle changes based on the note found on each one, but nevertheless it was still enjoyable !
I get how it fits the theme. Player needs to loop/redo the game to find all endings. I got all 5 endings which says different things like boom ending, big boom, you kept the loop, you broke the loop, solved the code but they're actually all the same; just endings. Curiosity is what makes the player engaged but once the player finds all the endings, it's not fun to play again. The visuals could have been anything but I understand the efforts. Similar to whack your boss/whack your computer, I suggest adding choices that makes sense and improve it with a story in an episodic way. Unlike whack your computer/boss game, your game had a puzzle to solve, so, that was fun.
The simple art style matches the game play. The visuals makes the player feel like they're doing complex stuff which adds more fun. It took me a while to understand how to play it, so, consider revising the instructions on how to play the game. To me the background music is on point with the visuals but the sound effects were a little bit mismatched from the art style. I suggest adding a little bit of animation in the background to make it more appealing and less static. You can also make it a bit more comfortable for the players by adding keyboard input as an option. Quick and easy game. This looks promising if you add more puzzle variations to make it unique. Smooth game, nice one!
Really fun. It challenges your patience and maneuvering skills. The music makes it so exciting. Literally a loop that you need to escape. This would be so much fun as a multiplayer game and with more arcade modes to choose from with different tweaks or twists to them. There's always room for improvement such as settings to make the music a little less loud. Great job with game!
Clear goal. Divides the player's attention by solving puzzles and fighting enemy tanks at the same time. I like how you cant kill all the enemies which makes it challenging and fun on top of figuring things out. The movements felt a bit too slow, especially during times when you need to move through a long distance in the map. Your reply in one of the comments about adding a sprint or full throttle might be just the thing to improve this. Artistically has room for improvements too. Keep it up. Well done!
Nice background. Cute character. Great choice of colors. Nice simple background sound. Sadly some of the levels were almost unplayable due to lag so a bit confused on how to win the game since levels can also be skipped. I liked the attack animation but it felt unintuitive on how it attacks an enemy in a horizontal angle. Resourceful idea of creating obstacles using 1 asset because it looked ok and playable. I also don't really get the breaking loop theme in this game. Overall, it was simple and had a clear goal per level.
I love games like these, I have played lots of games that are similar to this. Definitely going to be a good game to pass time. I wanted to play it even more, but after the 10 mins, the game is no longer playable. From here, i think you can definitely improve this a lot. You can add more enemies, more powerups, and more cards. I can't really get my head around the loop concept though, but that's just me. Overall, fun game. Keep it up!
The art style, music and the animation of the tree legs was amusing. Great narration at the beginning that explained the game's whole idea but I realized that the game play itself was the story which was quite interesting. The game could have been longer and fun if the cycle continued after the tree takes root and a new tree grows from the seed that falls from the 1st tree's fruit and the cycle continues until the players finds a way to break the cycle by solving the loop puzzle. That's my suggestion. The composition was already nice and you can definitely continue developing this. Overall, the game was too cute to play to be this short.
