Loved this! I thought the announcements were really funny and I liked the pace of the game. It would've been cool to know how many levels there are, I got to 10 and stopped because I'm guessing it just keeps going?
Thanks for the submission I really enjoyed it :)

Developer

It does keep going, the highest I got was 17. Thank you for the compliments, I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Fun game, almost got lost with the first order because of the controls and the icons, but once you get the idea it's entertaining

Developer(+1)

Thank you :)!

Amazing job everything about this was smooth and it captures the stress of the genre extremely well. I'm in love with your request bubbles - we tried several variations of them in our game but couldn't get something we liked and eventually went back to standard overcooked order queue. IDK why we didn't pull out the recipe from the request but it works extremely well here so props to you.

Solid entry with a good aesthetic and perfect humor. 5/5 no notes.

Developer

I think we just ran out of time but I also thought it was cute in the way someone would unlock a new entry in a recipe book! Thank you for the feedback, happy you enjoyed!

That was way more fast paced than I anticipated hahaha.  It took me a minute to realize the flower-looking icon was rope.  I kept trying to break down the purple pieces.  The announcements are a fantastic addition.  Great job.

Developer

LOL thank you! Totally agree we should’ve allocated more time to art, but it was tons of fun to make.

The music and theme made me feel frantic and it was super fun!!! Way better than working at the real Walmart hahaha

Developer

Lmao, totally agree, thank you :)

Submitted(+2)

Very fun, loved the announcements in between the music, they got a bit repetitive after some time though. I really liked the implementation of the forging mechanics, and it's fun  to see how even though there are many "cooking" games in the jam, each one has its own unique take on it.

Developer

Thank you! Announcements were definitely interesting, and totally agree with each one being unique, there was a lot of fun ones! Thanks for the compliments!

Really awesome game! Loved the artstyle, music, announcements and not least of all the rope pull :D Hammering the ingredients together felt great too, and just like in real life I get through a day at the store much better if I just ignore some people outright. Very fun, great job!

Developer

Thank you, I’m super happy to hear the feedback and lol.

One of my favorites of the game jam so far! It's fun playing around with the materials and the recipes of each weapon. The art and music are great! I really liked keeping the stuff through the different rounds. There is a lot of attention to detail, even on the main menu with the signature.

I came here because Vindictivity posted some comments in my game that I can't forget! I'm happy to see how well you did it. Congratulations!

Btw pulling that rope was amazing

Developer(+1)

I appreciate that a lot! We had a really talented sound designer. Rope is easily my favorite part as well lol. Thank you!

Developer(+1)

Your game was really addicting! Nicely done and thank you for the kind words.

Submitted(+2)

The game is fun and the pixelart is on point. Music is fitting and there were some satisfying sfxs, the only two things i would've changed would be an actual end to the game and the controls to not be all in one hand. But overall good and fun (reached day 10)

Developer(+1)

Yeah I totally agree with not having the controls on one hand, I heard some player’s hands started cramping. Will fix it after the game jam. Thank you for the compliments!

(+2)

I LOVED PRESSING AD REALLY FAST back and forth bc the little characters puts their hands up LOL, it was very fun, i got to day 10 and then my hand started cramping, the orcs were too needy for me to keep up. I think someone else mentioned this but at first i was very confused but then i saw the recipes were on the left, i had to read really fast BUT VERY FUN. :D YEPPIE OH, and i liked the announcements and funky music.

Developer(+1)

lmao, I do as well, also spamming space on the rope wheel since it makes the snap sound effect super fast. Sorry to hear your hand started to cramp! I think this is because all the controls are on the left hand, I’ll probably even them out once the game jam period is over so it’s playable for longer, I feel bad about this. I’ll also make recipes more clear. The announcements were one of my favorite things as well. Thank you!

Submitted(+2)

Great charming atmosphere, I loved the little announcement voiceovers! Really added alot to the feel of the game, and made it distinct from other blacksmith simulators. Only criticism I have is it would be nice to have a UI icon or some more clear indicator of how many metal bars are done in the furnace, as I sometimes would lose track. Great job!

Developer

Thanks a ton for the feedback! Will improve on this once the game jam period is over. I’m glad you enjoyed it, it was super fun to make!

Really cool game, the general feel is really cool and I had a lot of fun crafting all these weapons for the hasty orcs. The visuals are super pretty, I loved the weapons especially. And the music is really cool and works well with the fantasy shop for monsters, putting some supermarket advertisement between was clever and a fun thing to listen to. Super game, I loved playing it ! PS: pulling that string was really satisfying

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I had fun making the music and SFX. Glad you liked it.

I totally agree with that rope pulling mechanic.

Submitted(+1)

initially its hard to tell what to do because you dont really give the player a chance to read and think, it immediately goes into having a customer while you're reading
after that though, the game is alot of fun, you get into this flow and order in all the chaos that is very satisfying

Developer

thanks for the feedback!

Fun game.  I liked the rockin music in a fantasy setting.

Developer

Thank you!

I like the interactive main menu. A really solid fun game, I had trouble seeing that the left hand side UI was for recipes, maybe putting an "=" after the item before the ingredients would hammer (no pun intended) the point home.

I did 7 days. You've got a really nice balance of hectic and feeling like you're being super efficient. The pulling/snapping of rope is oddly satisfying!

Developer

We were actually debating the “=” sign during development lol! I guess my teammate was totally right. Good pun lol. Rope is probably one of my favorite things as well, especially just spamming spacebar to make it snap repeatedly.

Such a cool idea! I had some trouble figuring out how to make all the ingredients necessary for the spear, but this is probably more of a me issue than a game issue given that other folks could get through it well enough. The art and audio and everything mixed together is such a vibe. I want to know more about the story of Warmart :D

Developer(+1)

lmao, we appreciate all the compliments! The story is you’re hired by an orc who’s super greedy and values money, military orcs come in and shop for weapons, and if you can’t meet the demand you get fired. Would have loved to include the greedy manager in there but the life of a game jammer is not having enough time :p

Submitted(+2)

Great game! It plays well, graphics are nice, and the music track is cool. It gets a lil repetitive over time. Also I liked that I could always see the controls on the side, pretty helpful :)

Developer(+1)

Glad to hear it, as well as the criticism, we’ll probably expand on this in the future. thanks!

Submitted(+2)

I really liked the unconventional start button! It's fresh, really creative. Haha sign here.
I got the spear as my first order, but i cant figure out how to make charcoal? I did figure out how to make ore as it was explained on the right side. Unfortunately, I could only keep making daggers...
But the game looks like it would be very fun if there was more explanation on how to get the ingredients needed. The music though.. banger!

Developer

Unironically our team was just having a talk about this lol! Thank you for the compliments, with the limited time, we weren’t able to make a walkthrough, but I don’t believe charcoal was on the menu lol. Thank you for the feedback regardless, we intend to continue working once the game jam is fully over, I think with a bit more polish it’s a very fun and addictive game. Yours was as well, probably one of my favorites!

Submitted(+2)

This game ROCKS! I loved the building and production mechanics, especially the snap feature for grabbing a rope lol. Very fun. I found it a bit difficult to learn the game and understand what each thing did, but overall, I had a lot of fun and loved the soundtrack. The name of the game is just perfect, by the way. Congrats, guys

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I loved yours as well, the art is incredibly good, I wish I took a bit more time with that. Glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+2)

Wow, very nice game! Creative game mechanics, sound design is on point. I was a little lost at the start (some tutorial or tooltips needed maybe?) I had to stop because of hand cramp, but good job!

Developer(+1)

We ran out of time for a solid tutorial but that was definitely one of our concerns! Sorry to hear about the hand but I’m glad you enjoyed it!
