I'm really impressed! I have not expected someone to build a mini RPG for a game jam! The game is so feature packed! Slight side-effect was that the tutorial island had to contain a lot of signboards. If you had more time, a "just-in-time" tip prompt at each stage of the game would be easier to digest. But that's not easy for a 9day jam, our game also ran into the problem of not having a step-by-step tutorial. Overall, a charming game!

Developer

A tip prompt would have been so much better, thank you for the advice ! I was so in a rush the last 2 days I didn't think twice, but I'll remember to do a better tutorial next time. Thank you very much for the feedback and for playing !

Well done! I though that perhaps the tutorial was too long and wordy, maybe making it so that the player tries to learn "on the job" would be better? Overall, very good!

Yeah I made the tutorial in a rush the last because I thought the game looked too hard to understand, but I could have done it better and shorter you are right about doing it more interactively. I'll be sure to remember that the next time ! Thank you for your feedback and for playing !

Neat game! There's a lot of content here, especially for a one person team. It was interesting having to spend the game managing the AI teammate by supplying them with weapons and healing! I know others mentioned not liking how precise the timing on the forge was, but I kinda enjoyed this. Given that this minigame was a big focus, I probably would have preferred it be a touch more complex (different keys, maybe a bit more extended, etc.) That can be difficult to balance though as going to far with it might just make the game tedious.

Really great game! I enjoyed it!

I'm happy you enjoyed it and you're right the forging minigame is quite simple, I might improve it if I develop the game further. Thank you very much for playing !

NPC fighting animation was great lol. This was a really ambicious project for a jam I respect that a lot, I'm sure a lot of work went into this, so great job. The pixel art was quite charming even if at some point was kinda inconsistent.

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much ! I'm really trying to improve my pixel art so thank you, I'll try to work on making elements great together for my next projects !

Pretty cool game, impressive that you made so many different mechanics and included a tutorial!

Developer

Thank you very much !

I like the loop in this one. It's a fun perspective equipping people with weapons then watching them get into battles. You got a lot working in such a small space of time, nice one!

The crafting minigame was maybe required too precise a button press but I got the hang of it eventually.

Developer

I'm really happy about how the game loop turned out and glad you liked it ! I'll be sure to make the minigames easier next times. Thank you for  playing !

Fun little game - I like the forging mechanism!

I did think it was missing a button to interact, as I kept running into companions and dialogue came up. I also keep hitting the escape key, which takes me to the menu, and not out of the crafting screen / town screen, so that's something to consider.

I will try to do better for the inputs for my next games, it can be confusing to have 3 different keys to close windows you're right, I didn't even realised while doing it. Thank you for the feedback and for playing !

You crazy person you actually did an RPG for a game jam! Congrats. The only feedback I have is that the forging is too precise and should allow more leyway in hiting the key

Developer

Ahah thank you, It started quite small but I added things to make it more enjoyable again and again and I had so much fun seeing it grow ! As for the forging, you can spam click if it's too difficult but I should have made a bigger area in the first place. Thank you for playing !

Very cute game, visuals are sweet and music is calming, but forging seems a little unintuitive. Maybe a bit larger of an area in which we can succeed hitting the beats? Great game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much ! I think I sould have improved the forging as it was the main theme. I made it so the player can spam if it's too difficult but a bigger area could have been better.
