I enjoyed this a lot when I had a good run. The art was pretty nice, I really liked the designs for the units/giants. I also absolutely loved the audio for this, the music felt very fitting and the sound effects for the attacks felt impactful/satisfying.
I would have preferred if there was a start menu of some sort, it caught me off guard a bit when it jumped straight into the game. This is definitely a minor thing, especially considering that the player isn't required to take immediate action. Also, in its current state, it feels like the game is very heavily dependent on the RNG. I understand from other comments though that you are aware of this.
All in all, this was a nice submission and I'm glad to have played it. Hope to see more from you in the future!
Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
Really liked the art and music. The game was fun but unfortunately it seemed impossible to make it to the end. I tried a couple times and it did not seem like I would be able to keep up with the giants no matter which weapons I would craft. Thanks for submitting though it was fun.
Thanks for playing. You do have to get lucky with the resources to get a good run and win. It definitely needs more balancing, but so it goes in jam games. Thanks for the feedback.
I loved how the mechanics and use of spawn timing were so well thought-out. And I absolutely adore those vintage graphics! The music is very well, too.

Very interesting game, the pixel art is pretty good and love the greek theme, i just hope the game would be more balanced and a quick guide would have been usefull, otherwise still pretty fun
Hey thanks for the feedback!
This is a very cool idea to forge army to fight enemies. I prefer to click on items instead of hovering the mouse over them to pick them up. Also I found the spears die very quickly, I guess it might be that all are taking damage for 1 swing from the giant, this makes the bows much more powerful.
Cool art, music and animations.
Thanks for playing, and for the feedback!
I like this game. I love the animations and I had fun pushing the enemies back. I'm sure you could have incorporated forging a little bit more though!
Thanks for the comments. We had planned on having a 3rd unit type and resource type that would have mixed up the crafting decisions... but it fell out of the scope of the jam. Thanks for playing.
The art was very pretty! I like the lore and vibe of the whole game! Very good game for a solo jam submission!
Thanks a lot! I can't take all the credit though. We were a team of 2 :)
Love the art and sound. Really suits the vibe of the game.
Thank you!
Loved the greece setup and the simple pixel art to represent it. The game is simple but satisfying, I think thought that the player should be able to see a little farther, as I have lost ressources because they spawned off screen. The music is cool too, super entry !
Thanks. Good point about the resources flying off screen! Definitely something we could fix.
Wow that was cool. I like how you achieved solid gameplay with just a handful of elements. The game has its vibe, and there is a pleasant feeling when get your chance to push back after first retreating slowly before giants. I didn’t understand why some hoplites were bigger than others. The winning tactic for me was to maintain the steady recruitment of spearmen while gradually increasing the number of archers. In the end, we were unbeatable :) The animations are super cool. The music is pleasant and relaxing until it is interrupted by the sound of a dying man, which helps conjure up the vibe of Ancient Greece.
Thanks for the nice comments! The larger hoplites kind of comes from this unused mechanic of "hero" units. We just decided to buff 15% of the hoplites and let it be a little mystery I guess. (They also have increased health and attack power). Glad you had a good run. With a little bad luck it's easy to get overrun and lose without a chance. Thanks for playin'!
Love the pixel art! The volcano looks super cool. Very simple to understand, but at first I missed the dropped resources for a bit and couldn't figure out how to spawn units. I was actually quickly overrun and didn't have enough to get a new spearman, so I was pretty much waiting for the inevitable Game Over. Would have been cool to have a backup attack like clicking the giants in order to do 1 damage myself as a player so I could get a sliver of a chance to come back and win. No army = no defeated giants = no resources = no chance :(
Second playthrough: Same outcome :( I quickly got smashed down to 1 archer vs 6 giants. GG!
But really nice art and music. Solid concept and creative style to the character designs. Definitely would be cool to see this expanded with more units! Very nice work !
Thanks for your feedback. The game definitely has balance issues (if you get unlucky with resources at the start it's a sure game over, on the other hand, if you're lucky you can get too OP). I like the idea of clicking to attack the giants. That could be a good solution. Thanks for playing!
Good job!
I like it. Reminds me of flash games like Age of War, I would love to see more resource drops when killing a giant haha.
Thank you. Those old flash games are just what we were going for. Cheers!
Simple and fun game. Sometimes when my units made a lot of progress they went all the way to the right end of the screen, and were killing the giants who were almost entirely off screen. I wasn't sure if I was getting the resource drop in these cases. Maybe have a limit for how far right the player units progress? Good sound effects. Nice concept overall and well executed.
Thanks for the feedback. Good points!
Loved the pixel art for the game! The colors you chose popped and blended incredibly well with each other. Tunes were also a bop as well. Gameplay-wise, super simple to understand, however, I wished during the slow phases that the player had something to do other than collecting resources. Maybe building management? Put down buildings to change the types of resources you get (could also give you harder enemies).
Either way, good stuff!
Thanks for the nice comments! It would definitely be cool to give the player some more things to do, like you said.
Nice game! Solid sound effects and a fun little idle game.
Might just be a me thing, but during the slow periods between giants dying and collecting resources, might be nice to have another way to farm small amounts of them, like a clicking game or something just having 1 to 2 spawn in at random intervals.
Overall, great job!
Thanks for your feedback. That's a good suggestion too.
