This is fun! The guns and bullets feel a bit same-y, so I end up just shooting and waiting to reload. I also don't really think about what I'm rolling. The enemy sound effects are really funny!
This was pretty fun! Having the gun change regularly make the game quite spicy, and the different kind of enemies are interesting to fight. The last level is especially interesting, and satisfying to beat.
Perhaps the game is "too balanced" though? Most of the powers are efficient, but not overkilled. So it never changes the way to play. In the end, I just shoot bullets at enemies. If they do greater damage, or are more precise, whatever, it just means it'll go quicker. I wish I would feel more the change, and that each new weapons would force me to think about how to use them.
But it was still a fun shooter in the end, with a nice twist and a nice visual and sound atmosphere. Good job!
That is some great feedback!
I never thought about it but now that you told me, this is the only thing I can see xD
I don't know if there is an easy fix for that problem... Maybe I could limit the number of times you can roll the dice, forcing you to be more careful with whhat you do. But this does not match with my initial idea of forcing the player to think quickly and adapt constently. Maybe it's the powerups I made that are not fitting well with this design. I feel like the stepback modifier that send you backward when you shoot and the explosive bullets that can cause you damage if you are caught in the explosion are the one that are the most interesting and really pushes you to adapt.
If I find a solution, I will put it in the update I will make once the rating period has ended.
Thanks for playing and for sharing your thoughts!
Nice action game. It's fun to try different associations. I'd like to play it in an survival mode with infinite wave^^.
It could be interesting to show the number of ammo left.
The sounds are perfect dooo daaa daa dooo.
Nicely done ;) Congrats
good work . https://www.twitch.tv/ggame86 Please give my game a try if you have some time!
I love all the different options you can get for your gun ! It’s like a Borderland where you get a new weapon every time you’re out of ammo.
Suggestions : add an indicator for how much ammo are left in the game, add a way to “save” a gun config that you like so you can reuse it later (maybe for a limited number of times, or with a power up only ?), and pleaaaase boost the damage output for the shotgun, because the range is so small I would expect it to one-shot enemies to become viable. :D
Well done, I had a lot of fun playing that!
Thanks for the feedback!
The UI with ammo left was planned but I forgot about it in the end because I was running out of time to finish the game! Also, I wanted the player to choose between picking up new dice at the end of each level to get new posibilities, or keeping the current dice if the current synergy was good. But it is not very clear and the level based progression does not fit very well with that!
I'm glad you had fun playing :)
I'm a big fan of this game and the spiky watermelons! I like the use of the theme and the art of the guns too! Wish it was longer.
Really fun game, the art looks good and the sound effects for hitting enemies is amazing.
A nice shooter game, the changing weapon type was a good idea. The players/guns shadow was a bit distracting. Great job overall :)
Love the concept of the game! I'd love to see this as a sorta arena battler rather than a level-based game.
In real life, do hay bales respond with "ouch" when shot? I love that they do in this game :) The mechanic of "mix-n-match" your gun slot machine style is really nice. There were some boxes at the end of each level and I had no idea what they did. The gun slot machine just kept minding its own business so I didn't think much about it. Fun project!
I never heard a real life hay bale say "ouch", but maybe all the ones I have seen in my life were silent haha!
The boxes you pickup at the end of each levels are dices that replace the one you currently have, changing what guns and bullet you will potentially have. I would have liked to make it more obvious, but I ran out of time!
Thanks for playing :)
