Hi! The game can be put into full screen. The button may be hard to see.
Thank you for your feedback! Honestly Scorchpot Desert is in 11/4 so it makes sense it's hard to get the rhythm. The enemies bounce to the beat. I could add an indicator like in CotN but I honestly kind of dislike that indicator, it takes away from feeling the beat. Maybe I can figure something out.
Thank you! Jsyk, there is an indicator of where the beats are visually, it's the bobbing motion of the ghosts.
As for the style of music, I will admit to being more interested in making music for characters and environments rather than for specific styles.
The speed the ghosts come at scales up as you speed up the song at a constant rate so it doesn't actually make it any more survivable. Faster songs just dramatically increase your scoring potential.
Thank you for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Hello!
I agree that it can feel punishing. I had some trouble balancing this game for sure! I included health pickups if you have trouble but they drop randomly so I understand it could be really difficult for some players...
As for the input and audio lag issues with the web build - yeah I agree that it can cause issues. The system I'm using specifically accounts for it, however... so it shouldn't be an issue more than it would be in any other game that uses timing.
As for the visual art - I'm normally a pixel artist, this artstyle is completely new for me. I wanted to try something new, and I agree that it could've looked a lot better.
Thank you for your review!
i dont have the patience for this but interesting idea i guess. less of a regular game and more of an experiment of sorts. its an art piece, i guess. its a little hard to read the text btw. the dinosaur game was also a little hard.
i hope yall had fun making it though it really seemed like you did. obviously this is never gonna advance past this into a full game. which is the point, right. its meant to be a gag about loading screens. but it looks like it was fun, and yeah it got a chuckle out of me. i waited for a while, too.
Very cool game! It was a little buggy, but I was able to beat it. One small thing - the music loops you create aren't super complex. I kind of wish different shapes were different instruments or chords or something, and by the end the music you made played more of a tune. But I get why that'd be harder to design. Definitely not something I'd expect in 96 hours! Great puzzle game.
Hi! Maybe my brain just isn't made for this kind of gamee..... because I couldn't figure out how to do the constellations or open door 3... The aesthetics were on point! Loved the atmosphere. And the puzzles from what I can tell are at the very least well put together, it's probably not your fault I couldn't figure it out...
I got some bugs with the doors sometimes, and the music broke a few times... I dunno why that happened.
Beautiful art, by the way. It's fantastic.
Wow those comments did not lie this was a difficult game. One piece of criticism: it's extremely hard to dodge stuff moving in a circle if most of its circumference coincides with your available travel path. A lot of times the white clothes would leave only a sliver of space to dodge and sometimes they appeared at the same time in a way that made it impossible to reasonably dodge both of them.
That being said, the art and style are really wacky and cute. Plus, it DID genuinely feel satisfying to hit those colors. The difficulty is just one factor of the game, and it definitely does not drown the experience. Solid, well made game, perhaps with a little more playtesting it would be greatly improved.
Also, another thing this game does really well has to do with its controls. It felt good to dive and come back up and even though the color changing took a second to get used to, it ended up working out quite well.
Excited to see where balance changes can take this gameplay! Especially since this game could be so easily adapted to a touch-screen interface.
i got softlocked... lmao... blue ferret glitched through the floor and i couldnt move either of them...
you did say id softlock your game to be fair.
i think i got the gist tho, you gotta find the break points and communicate with yourself to find each other. cute. it gave me outer wilds vibes and that game is phenomenal so your vibes were on point. movement was really buggy but like... the vibes...
I was um. Very confused. Sorry. It was... harder than I anticipated.
I couldn't quite figure out how delay worked... very difficult puzzle game! I could honestly see thousands of levels built using this. Perhaps there needs to be smaller gradations in difficulty to make that learning curve less steep.
Super cool though. If I could figure it out I bet I'd feel like a rock star.
omg i always get so excited when i see music games :0
it felt... a little unfair maybe? like, with the speed it ended up being, and there were some discrepancies with the preview and what was able to be played.
Ok i just saw you can play with your keyboard thats gotta be better than spamming your left click
anyway extremely cute and mostly well made. i hope that mouse is safe though surrounded by those cats
I've been getting this feedback a lot and unfortunately it kind of doesn't really match my vision for the game I guess - a more visual system would prevent people from really getting a feel of the song's beat and bpm - but I understand the frustration I guess.
The enemies do bob on the beat, though, if that helps at all. Obviously the level of difficulty I found ideal doesn't work for everyone.
