Nice, cute, hits a bit too close to home in Poland but the design is quite flawed. Not only is the standard price worse than the gambling price 7/8 of the time, but there's really no choices to be made since you either get the better price at the one-arm pump, or are forced to choose the standard one; there's no punishment for using your three tries at the one-arm pump. Maybe if there was a price for using it and if there were different standard prices at different stations, it could get a bit more interesting, but at the end of the day, it's still just a gambling game. You need to include more ways for the players to control the outcomes, more strategy... for example by choosing different routes which have different lengths (i.e. different amounts of gas used) but stations with better or worse prices or better or worse luck, which you could find out from the locals or something like that.

I appreciate your feedback and there's certainly a lot of things we can improve upon and add more control over the game. But your bar for a quality of a jam game might be a bit high imho (Albo mozliwe ze to brzmi troche grubo bo jestes z Polski, hehe) . There's only so much things you can focus on and deliver during a jam. We spent time on making the basic things feel good and from the feedback we got that goal was achieved and that's no quick or easy task

We're planning to add more content, ways to affect your price and earn money in the post jam version though :)

The art style is great! The game and its use of the theme is funny and clever, I like it a lot! Great job!

Creative use of theme, bit one time joke though. Balanced bit too hard though I think, did not manage to got further than third gas station, most of the tries end up second. Art style I like

Developer(+1)

I don't think it's balanced too hard. It's completely unbalanced. Pure RNG. Which totally can be annoying if you got unlucky a few times in a row. That's certainly an area where we can improve. Letting the numbers be random but reducing the chances of constantly high prices. Thanks for your feedback!

Simple yet effective and spot on constructed.
Love the doodle visuals and the music is AWESOME!

Funny use of theme. The game is imaginary but the pain is real. Super charming art style that really stands out against other jam games. Animation of the slots is great. Music really makes me feel like I'm driving in the middle of nowhere. Sound effects are on point too. Fantastic job.

Clever to turn gas pumps into a slot machine kind of idea.
The art and music give it its own vibe for sure.
Just seems a bit simple.

Fun concept and charming presentation. Some usability messaging/polish would be very helpful (such as clearer highlights) as I did have some difficulty realizing what was clickable, but a good framework for a potential point-and-click adventure. Nice work!

Petroll The Dice gives a refreshing take on the jam concept and is an excellent example of interactive storytelling.  Relatable, lovely artwork and slot machine gas pumps make for a fun and unique experience.

I expected that the cursor would change from an arrow to a hand when hovering over something clickable, as that's common in point-and-click adventures.  Without that, I found that it took me a bit longer to figure out the controls, although the slight outline and use of sound on hover and click was helpful.

Developer(+1)

Oh, that's a good suggestion, will certainly add that in the after-jam update! Thank you so much, glad you liked it!

Very nice style and vibes! :D

A really love the hand-drawn artwork! The music was fantastic. I loved the view from the end of my long drive. I think overall the atmosphere really captured the moment!

Simple but fun. Love the hand drawn art style! Great music as well. Keep it up!

Submitted(+2)

This is such a nice idea with all hand drawn art. The concept is simple but it's very relevant and memorable! Nice job!

Submitted(+2)

Unique experience. But earning cash option is missing. You can make a lot of content from there if you add that option in future. And also all fuel station using same picture. So maybe different pictures can be good. And I like hand drawn artworks. Well done mate ^^

You have definitely crafted the most unique experience I've had in this jam so far. The game is elegant in its simplicity, and everything from the aesthetics to the gameplay work together well to present a narrative that is easy to grasp without being too on the nose.

Despite only consisting of a few scenes, you really use the sounds and limited animation to great effect. Great game, and great use of the theme!

Developer

I'm really glad you liked it that much! Thanks!

This is a nice simple game, its small but fun!

I really like the art style and the game concept

Submitted(+2)

Really nice and cool game! The art is really cool and it was very fun to play! Good job!

This has a gimmick to it, but it executes on that gimmick well. I like rolling the dice being taken more metaphorically than most, a breath of fresh air. I absolutely have to compliment the visuals, those are very cute and add a lot of personality to your game. The sense of push your luck was accentuated by the story and it was a fun game. There maybe could have been a little more to it, but what this game does go for it executes well. Good job!

Feels like an arthouse game, with all of this drawings making the game...  classy!
It feels good) And this simple mechanics with petrol filling fits very well into such stylish game. Good job!
We still hate dice, but well done!
