How does your game fit the theme?
You travel around a racetrack track (a closed loop) while dodging the past echoes of yourself (a kind of time loop . . . or maybe a time spiral?)

(Optional) Please credit all assets you've used
See in-game credits list. Marigold and ThomBone did initial track layouts for Silverspruce Circuit and The Darklands. Music and sounds were created using Super Audio Cart.

(Optional) What would you like to be called if GMTK features your game?
Ætheryal (feat. ThomBone and Marigold)

Took a moment to realise I needed to press space to advance the text, whoops >w<
A pretty fun idea; wasn't sure what the 'racing yourself' part meant until the track really got clogged up with me weaving all over XD
Then trolling myself on a track by zigzagging with teh dodge was not a wise move
Good job~

Developer

Haha, yup, that can happen! Thanks for playing!

Love the old school Mario Kart aesthetic. Racing against while having to dodge your clones is fun too. I think the turn is a bit wide though and that the dash timing is super tight.

This game is so cute, I love the art style and the NES mode 7 view. I really like your idea of gameplay. Most racing game just do the "you have to be faster than your ghost", but here your ghost are more like obstacle. Really fun game ! :)

A very fun game. Nice idea. The music and sounds were great, and this was a very original idea. Well done

Very interesting. The clones didn't impact my gameplay as much as I would have wished but they still acted as an interesting visual quirk that made me want to improve at the game. Graphics and audio were neat. No complaints really, good game.

I really love the idea of a witch race game ^^

I adore the artstyle and the way you combined a 3D environment with 2D sprites!

The UI is clean and the gameplay is simple but fun! I enjoyed racing with myself. Good job! ^^

It' so fun to zoom around! The colors are very nice and I love the music in the background very rare to find music that doesn't get tiring. Great work!

Also I'd appreciate feedback on my submission if you get a chance!

Brother you made a whole racing game with an insane soundtrack in 4 days?! Reminds me of the first mariokarts. Also thank you for playing our game!

Developer

Hey, thank you so much! And thanks for the compliment on the soundtrack! I wrote the tunes themselves a while ago, but I did new arrangements for the jam to match the SNES style. You can check out the original version of the racing music here!

Very cute, i like the art style.

Developer

Thank you! (Although I can’t take credit for most of the art itself—See the credits page for more details. But I appreciate that you think I have good taste!)

Really cute and arcadey! I had a blast going around the place, and you got a very nice colour palette going. Great work!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!

Love the graphics and audio on this, rly nice game for a 4 day jam!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words, and thank you for playing!!

Actually impressive you got a F-Zero style game working in just 4 days. While the controls are a bit all over the place, with a bit more polish I can see this game becoming a full release on Steam or consoles. Has the charm of a 90s/2000s game.

Developer

Thank you so much!

Cool game! The quick turn mechanic really makes the gameplay more dynamic, great addition. I love the 3D pixel art style, and the sounds and music are amazing. You nailed the theme in multiple ways, super clever.  Great job!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words!

The theme in this game was satisfied TWICE. One with the racing loop game, and second with the looping in time shadows. Really cool music, and graphics, glad to see even the shadows use abilites back in time

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!

Very charming game, I love that my past are trying to catch up with me just like in real live. Very fun game! witches on broom goes brrrrr

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!

I like the old Mario Kart style graphics, and the racing mechanics are pretty neat!

Developer

Thank you! Yes, Mario Kart was a big influence on the look and feel.

Neat racing game.

  • The Quick Turn mechanic is great! It reminds me of kirby air ride.
  • My favorite track was the 2nd one because it let me play with the Quick Turn as much as possible, and that made it very fun.
  • The music felt retro, I like.
  • The dodging was not a feature I engaged with much. I’d try abusing the mechanic to turn, but stopped using it after playing enough with it.

Thanks for playing! Yeah, there’s a cooldown on the dodge to prevent you from spamming it too aggressively. It’s useful for getting around trees and obelisks at high speeds, but I’ll admit that I don’t use it much when I play, either.

(Also shout out to Marigold for Silverspruce track design!)
