Great juiciness as always! I like the cassettes mechanic. It allows interesting builds, and offer nice audio feedback. There might be room for even more synergy between power-up! The only oddity was maybe the shop, which on the first rounds presented only expensive items, and near the end introduced very cheap ones. Still wasn't an issue though, the game is very easy. It's a chill and fun experience!

Developer

Hey Itooh, glad to see you here! There's plenty of room for more synergies indeed, we still have to figure out if and how we keep iterating on this 😛

Will try your game tomorrow!

That might be tricky: I haven't submitted a game this year. :p

However I made music and sound design for the games of two teams: Loop Floor and Shape Fu Mi.

Developer

Thought I saw a thumbnail of your subimssion under your message, sorry for the confusion! Thanks for the links though!

This is a great spin on the Survivors mechanics, I love all these music/beat based games for this jam theme.

The different cassettes are a really cool idea for spells, and the music for the whole thing fit so well together! My only feedback is that it would be nice if there was some kind of health pickups, though it's probably short enough that it doesn't need it right now. Honestly I just wanted more...

We're also big fans of choosing 1-of-3 things here, so we built a deckbuilder for our jam game. Would love to hear your feedback if you wanted to try ours too!

Developer

Yhank you very much for your feedback! Many people told that they felt that health pickups were missing, it was planned but didn't make the cut.

Will try your game tomorrow!

I love the art style, the animations and the music, they all fit together perfectly. Very good use of the theme with your vampire-survirors-like game. The fact that the abilities sounded good with the music was also suprisingly nice!

If you're good enough, I feel like you can move your best ability in time with the tempo to always use it? I might be wrong, but I thought it was funny so I tried it hahaha

Every year, you make a great entry for this game jam, and this year is no different! Well done!!!

Developer

Thank you very much for playing! Glad you liked our lil' game 😁

We'll call that move a featue, and totally not something we didn't plan hahaha

I still have to play Hi Honey, it seems really good aswell! Even if I'm a goldfish memory-wise

Great spin on the Vampire Survivors genre, couldn't get enough of the music, gameplay is fun with a low skillfloor but still difficult against many enemies, although the enemies were a tad slow making it easy to circle around them. Even so, if this ain't top 10 I don't know what is!!

Developer

Thank you very much!

Wow, this was fantastic! Probably my favourite of the jam so far. Both idea and execution are great. I can also see this being extended, like combining tapes to increase their level or have tapes that work better on certain beats or stuff like that. Awesome job, wouldn't mind playing a full game like that!

Developer

Thank you very much for the feedback! Merging tapes was panned in the original game design, but didn't make the cut time-wise hehe :p

this game absolutely cool art style matches my favorite and gameplay so joyously.
If possible, can you please rate my game and leave a comment too?

Developer

Thanks a lot!
I'll check out your game, the screenshots are dripping with personality, it makes me really want to try it!

This is an absolutely excellent submission, top marks from me.  The scope was kept pretty low allowing you to pretty much polish everything!  I loved how all the effects were perfectly in beat with the music and the spell sound effects became part of the music as a result.  The art style is charming and everything pulsing to the beat just really sells the whole effect.  I love how the powers can interact with each other, and getting two volume ups at the start of the loop is really strong.  I found that if I used the fireball on the 7th beat, it seemed to last the entire next measure since the fireball didn't land until the next measure started.

All I think I could ask is for an endless mode so you can see how busted combos can eventually get.

Excellent job!

Developer

Thank you very much! And thank you for the feedback on the fire cassette, we'll look into it! We'll have to decide whether it's a bug or a feature, haha. And yes good point, an endless mode would be well suited to this type of game, if we decided to take it further.

I think this is one of the best submission I have tried yet (and I like to think that I already played a lot of submissions). This is such a cool idea and it's well executed. I can't decide if I find the randomness of where the fireball lands interesting or annoying. One one hand it makes me quickly decide whether to go there to ignite my disco ball but on the other it adds quite a bit of unpredictability. Either way, the size mod cassette pretty much fixes that by increasing the radius by a ludicrous amount. I love it!

Developer(+1)

 Wow, thank you a lot!
You raise an interesting point about the fireball; we'll have to think about that!

How did you make the music so good?!! Well done with a banging submission!

Developer(+1)

Haha thank you so much! Making the music was one of the coolest thing to do on this project, it was a lot of fun to make!

Submitted(+3)

Songs are banging art is very reactive and I love that sound effects are played for each cassette . I would love to play more

Developer

Thank you so much! We're glad you enjoyed our game!

The power scaling over the waves was really satisfying. I had my hoard of speakers falling on the big guy by the end and was raking up all the cash. Very fun.

Developer

Thank you a lot! Haha, that's a good strategy indeed, the speakers turned out to be very powerful, yeah!

Perfect vampire survivor-like. The ability to control when everything fires off is nice as is the ability to actually choose what weapons you get

Developer

Thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed it!

Very cool Noita-ish spin on the jam theme which was "LOOP", I like the new take on the vampire survivor genre.

The gameplay is really on point, and the theme was tied to it, which I particularly appreciated.

I wish I had more to do than just run around during the wave phases but then again I also have to account for using my spells most effectively with the movement I do.

The art is amazing, the sfx are punchy and satisfying and the music is really tickling my fancy.

I wish however that the rounds weren't as long, and maybe that I had more to say in how the spells were casted.

All in all a very impressive and polished result for this 4 days jam.

Excellent work!

Developer

Thank you very much, and thanks for your feedback! If we push the game further, we will focus on balancing the waves, perhaps the last ones are indeed too long. Thank you again, and we're happy you enjoyed the game!

Extremely stylish and well scoped little experience. Could totally see this as a bigger game, with chaotic synergies between the different tapes. Also 5/5 world building. Coffee goblin is literally me frfr <3

Developer

"Coffee goblin is literally me" was also what I said to myself while drawing it, hehe! Thank you a lot!
We haven't decided yet whether we'll take the game further, but we have lots of ideas. It would be really fun to expand the scope of the game, yeah!

Submitted(+3)

WHAT A GAME! Love deckbuilders, love bullet hells, love rhythm games. This was built for me, and I could not have enjoyed it more. Amazing graphics, amazing sounds, so much fun to play. 25/25.

Developer

Haha, thank you very much, we're really happy that you enjoyed our game!

Submitted(+3)

Loved it. Simple, yet very fun to play game idea. Would love a full release with more attacks, synergies and tweaks to the balancing. Very easy to get overpowered early :D

Developer

Thanks a lot! Yeah, if we take the game further, we'll have some balancing to do!
